gather around youngins, let me tell you a story of thugs versus femboys. We Wordingtonians were peaceful folk, thugshaking all our merry way. But then 196 invaded the sub as they tend to do with most Shitpost subs, spamming the sub with unfunny anime memes and femboy memes. We, being proud and secure thugshakers fought a long and lengthy war keeping them from diluting our precious thugshakers. Ultimately driving them off after they didn’t like how massive our cocks were.
Honestly their posts just kind of go past me now, but looking at their top posts of the month it’s still pretty good. The relations between Reddit shitposting subs remains an enigma.
196 used to be better late 2020 when it was more like 195. Now it's just screenshots from Twitter and mid tier memes. Only reason I'm kinda still there is because occasionally you can find something good and also there really aren't a lot of subs with memes that don't just devolve into mostly hate. This subs alright. Most edgy 13 year old posts die in new or get clowned on
not really it just took a left turn, and more like 2 years ago lol. but of course, you gotta understand femboys and transfems are the largest demographics in that sub and honestly both of them have some of the worst sense of humor ever, i seriously doubt i have ever laughed at a single reddit trans meme or a reddit meme about femboys. redditors are just not funny at all no matter where on the political or moral spectrum they are

oh, i know, i unsubbed from 196 a couple months ago as it had verey noticably gone downhill. i think meme subreddits have a certain breaking point where they reach a certain height in popularity and then it immediately goes to shit. you've gotta keep yourself on smaller subreddits with more niche humor to maintain a consistent Funny Level™. as an unfortunate downside of this, I have started to unironically agree with Ted Kaczynski more often. I'm sure that won't turn out badly.

Okay here's my two cents on a hypothetical 196 ban: I think everyone not on it wants it banned because it's a cesspool and feels worse to scroll through then your balls getting gangrene and falling off but if it gets banned then all of the freaks go to different subs and infect it like a plague.
Most of it isn’t hate towards their ideology, it’s just that their entire sense of humor is “trans circlejerk” and everywhere they go they bring their unfunniness with them. (Now I know the entire sub isn’t that, but there are plenty of people like that, and 196 acts as a lightning rod to absorb the hate for that sense of humor.)
Another thing is that it’s just so volatile. When people bring up criticisms about 196 humor being unfunny and repetitive, the 196ers just can’t seem to realize that it’s a criticism about their humor, and take it as an attack on transgenderism as a whole, so instead of learning, they just pull out the unbeatable “you’re a transphobe” card, and nothing gets anywhere.
It brings morality into a dumb conversation about
funi vs unfuni and it’s just ugly, so you can see why the whole situation is hated.
Unless you can give me some examples, I’m just gonna have to disagree here.
Also, that’s not really the point, because big shitposting subs can be low quality, but few have the pure “pollutant” power that 196 does.
I think 196 is a bit different in how they’re more… circle jerky about it it seems. Like they bring a certain confident smugness and moralism into it. And they pretend their post of “transphobes sure are dumb” is a joke, it seems more annoying than a meme sub attempting to actually make a joke. When I see a post on dankmemes I usually just find it bland.
Bigotry showcase on 196 was the worst thing to happen to it and I'm deadass certain that it only got popular because a bunch of people realized it's EZ karma. A lot of people treat that sub like it's a karma printing machine and that's how I feel it got to the unfunny state it's in because it wasn't always like this.
