That's going to be a fun place to hang out, nice work!
One thing that concerns me though is that it looks like you live where you get a fair amount of precipitation (downspouts on the homes). I would be concerned about moisture getting trapped between the pallet boards and the OSB and rotting stuff pretty quickly. Besides pulling the pallet boards and applying either tar paper or a house wrap type product it might be easiest to add an overhang to other two sides of the roof using a ladder eave type structure and a couple more sheets of tin. It would also help to apply a clear coat of weatherproofing sealer to the pallet boards but that's not going to help for all the other sides of them.
The back and the other side have steel siding. Just these two sides are probably going to rot over time . But for now it’s fun. We will probably have to replace boards as we already have some popping off after one winter . But it was to be expected .
> Where’s the Tiki part?
In my mind a Tiki Bar is a loose group of palm fronds tied together that will probably blow away in the next storm. This is well above that title IMO.
How was the foundation built? Did you just anchor it to the concrete or did you have to dig down and make concrete forms??? I want to do something similar but a bit larger when I but my first home. One as a bar and another as an "extra room"
Love it!!! I love a DIY build. Looks great. The Tiki bug will get you. Watch out. 🤣 For now pool side is great. I just attempted my first tiki head for a friend. My third time using the chain saw. Super fun.

Awesome work. Do you have any build pictures you can add?
Oh you mean in the process ? I do actually .
Yes, I love seeing it all come together
I made another post showing the process .
You can’t see all the pictures ?
Awesome, now you just need to collect all the goofy Nick nacks
We are working on it .
You should request this sub to make knickknacks for your bar. I bet a few people would whittle up a fish or something
Your next hobby could be coconut face carving.
I’m not that good . Unless YouTube can teach me lol
Well, I’ve come to realize that YouTube is basically an archive of the human race’s collective knowledge and YT rarely fails to deliver.
Very true
Looks freaking awesome! I will add this to my list of saved posts that "I will one day build."
Narrator: "He wouldn't." *At least, if you're anything like me. Lol
Beautiful woodwork, now please tidy them cables!
You can see in the photo with the big speaker we mounted the sound bar . No more cables showing .
Hah, nicely done, didn't look closely enough at that on mobile

Nah just stuck out as ruining thr look of the pic where it's glaringly obvious, didn't go back to check the other pics. Have a good day now.
Is it anchored in the ground? We want build pictures!!
I posted process pics on another post. It is not fastened to the ground just in case we have to move it .

There you go, sounds like you're on it!
You built a bar - definitely not a Tiki Bar though. Still cool anyway
We call it our tiki because it’s near our pool. But your right, it’s more a rustic bar .
Where’s the Tiki part? What plans do you have for that? Cool outdoor bar.

Well it’s a backyard bar I guess . We just call it our tiki because we have a pool and enjoy lol
You could always lean into it someday and setup some palm fronds, bamboo accents and carve out some tiki masks.
I’m in process of turning my deck into a tiki bar. This is the look one is typically going for https://i.imgur.com/fDFEKF9.jpg
I want to drink in there during a storm
We do that often
Doesnt look like you used teak?
What’s teak? Lol
A dream! Well done!
Not really a tiki bar
We call it a tiki since it’s by our pool. But can also be called a backyard bar .

To each their own. We happen to love it . Best part is when we are sick of it we can change out the look easily .

Lol
Good thing you don’t live in our house
is that out of pallet boards? that looks amazing and I'm guessing it was cheap as hell to build, great job!
Yes pallet boards. We cut them with a sawzall .
nice
Nice one, I would love to see plan as well.
I posted some process pics . My “ plan/idea” was written on a napkin lol
Nice work! What’s that hanging on the wall in picture 5?
It’s an old water ski. Everything inside this bar things we collected from family . The light was my great grandmothers .
Turn that waterski into a shotski STAT!!
We actually have a shot ski

Well this is not anchored so we are able to move it if we have too. Just have electrician disconnect the electric .
Playlist song recommendation “Thank God the Tiki Bar is Open” (John Hiatt)
I’ll have to check it out
Now play “in the tiki room” from Disney’s tiki room every time you go out there.
I've got a quiz
Love the swag lamp!
The hanging lamp was my great grandmothers !!
Nice work! If you invite the right people it could be a titty bar.
Lol never know what happens when the kids are sleeping
Oh I bet your neighbors love you.
They love hanging at the bar .
Not a big fan of the reclaimed wood siding. Looks out of place in the suburbs.
That’s ok. It’s not for everyone. We personally love it .
Looks really cool. Not to take away from what you’ve done, but I think some paint would make it look really nice and help preserve it.
Maybe one day , for now we like this rustic look. The cool part about it is we can change the front and side if we ever want too .
Fairs, the more I look the more I see the rustic touches you’ve done. I like it 👍. Enjoy!
This is awesome :)
:D
so cool, for some reason I instantly thought of Rocket Power
Pic 5 sign above the door - that's also an AA saying :p
Now that’s funny .
This is killer! I'd love to do something similar.
I love it. Especially the roof.
We did a steel roof on top
Not what I envision as tiki but you do have yourself a bar.
I should change the post to say tiki/rustic backyard bar .
Love it!!! I love a DIY build. Looks great. The Tiki bug will get you. Watch out. 🤣 For now pool side is great. I just attempted my first tiki head for a friend. My third time using the chain saw. Super fun.
Awesome!
