Jhoblesssavage

Worse that Hitler

RM_r_us

Put your can where it belongs when finished and I think we can promise not to squeal on you!

theleverage

I had this plan to take my empty can and respond to your comment with a photo of me putting it in a blue bin, but then on the way a lovely can collector mom smiled at me and took it. I hope she recycles it.

OGfrontside

I’d sooner call the bad taste police.

theleverage

If they’d had any other low carb single can in the BCL cooler I’d likely have that instead.

astudyinbowie

Same. But mango and black cherry are the best flavors anyways!

bibliobitch

Black cherry tastes like cough syrup to me. I'll take the lime if I have to... then mango.

Cat-are-where-its-at

The real crime here is the white claw!

Remarkable-Papaya-59

Agreed. Drink something local! So much good stuff here.

rhinny

I recommend Wize seltzers. They're delicious and made locally.

Remarkable-Papaya-59

Yes! Also Strait and Narrow gin cocktails. Amazing.

FlySociety1

White claw is local... it's created by a Vancouver based company, with head office just outside of downtown. It's just canned in the states.

Remarkable-Papaya-59

I’m not sure why you’d make up this tall tale about White Claw but it’s not even close to being a local product. It was developed in Ireland and only entered the Canadian market recently. It’s a $4 billion dollar business and is as corporate as you can get. The same group also makes Mikes Hard Lemonade, are you going to try and claim that’s a local product too?

FlySociety1

Right... do me a favour and google Mark Anthony Group of Companies, the company that owns Mark Anthony Brands (which developed White Claw in Ireland as you said). Notice all the offices in Canada, and in particular the head office in Vancouver?[https://absolutebeer.com/companies/mark-anthony-group-of-companies/](https://absolutebeer.com/companies/mark-anthony-group-of-companies/) Yes the Head office is admittedly far removed from the actual production of White Claw, but Mark Anthony Group employ's hundreds if not thousands of local high paid white collar jobs right here in BC. I never said anything about it not being corporate, but just curious, is that a bad thing? I thought we want high paying corporate jobs here in Vancouver. I would also say Mikes Hard Lemonade would be a local product too, if Mark Anthony Group didn't sell the Canadian rights for Mikes Hard to Labatt back in 2015.[https://biv.com/article/2015/11/mark-anthony-group-sells-mikes-hard-lemonade-palm-](https://biv.com/article/2015/11/mark-anthony-group-sells-mikes-hard-lemonade-palm-) “Many people don't realize that Mike's, which has become an American beverage icon, was created here in Vancouver,” Anthony von Mandl - President, Mark Anthony Group

Remarkable-Papaya-59

Does your back hurt from stretching that hard to try to make your point. Who are you going to go for bat next, Walmart?

FlySociety1

If you consider two Google searches for easily verifiable information hard work, then sure, but actually not really...

Remarkable-Papaya-59

You can’t make outrageous claims that something is a local product because they have an office here . That’s not only inaccurate it’s just plain stupid.

FlySociety1

The whole reason people go on about 'Buying local' is because it helps the local economy. Maybe you can clarify what you meant when you posted 'Buy Local'. Buy local as in products that produced only here in Vancouver, and create jobs only here in Vancouver? This product, while canned and packaged in the states, is still owned by a Canadian/BC based company which employ's thousands of white collar professionals right here in BC. It was created under the direct supervision of the company leadership, which again is based out of the Head office here in Vancouver. Because White Claw exists, and is selling so well, it has a direct contribution to the local economy and local job market. Would you not consider Lululemon a local company? Even though 67% of their products are produced overseas. They still are headquartered in Vancouver, and contribute a lot locally. These are the kinds of Companies we want here in Vancouver. Companies created in, and based in Vancouver, that have a successful product that reaches a world wide market, which expand our own job market and raise salaries in this city.

Eswyft

I'm confused what this guy thinks local is. If the hq is here, it's local. Nine hq is in Portland but there's a nike store here. By this guys logic, nike is from van.

notic

the founder also lives in point gray

Eswyft

Why did you delete all your comments telling me how it is? You finally read through it all, see all the down votes you were getting and realize you were out of line? You didn't need to delete them dog. Just say, misunderstanding, have a good one. But naaaaa. You name call, double down, then everyone down voted you so you delete?

theleverage

Honestly fair - but this was an impulse purchase while walking by a BCL and seeing singles in a cooler. My choices were limited to a bunch of beers (already had a heavy dinner) and this one cooler/seltzer.

Psychological_Win_89

The vpd? I'm sending in the park ranger!

Ontario0000

White Claw the most overhyped drink out there these days.

ArticArny

White Claw Mango? For a girl you have big hands.

plop_0

Fellas, is it gay to enjoy fruity alcohol?

Muff_Punt

According to the laws of toxic masculinity, one is not considered a "real man" unless their beverage taste like piss.

garydoo

Asking for a friend...

BayLAGOON

I'll tell VPD you modified the flow rate of the can opening. Traffic will be on the way to issue your can a VI.

pricklyrickly

I’ve legit been fined for that before. It’s over the top ridiculous. And now you have a few parks with a corner you’re allowed to drink in. It’s bullshit. If you’re an adult, drink wherever you please.

Ejaculazer

I thought there was no law when you're drinking White Claw?

still_oblivious

I've called them but you're not there right now. You mind going back and enjoying another one?

Trevoreats

Just tell them its your heroine

RickJamesBlTCH

Yes arrest this man for drinking Mango seltzer - that’s the real crime here
