Motor coil winding is probably the one process with the widest variety of techniques used. I've seen so many machines that do it so many different ways. This one is pretty speedy. [Here is how the do the Audi e-Tron motors](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uWBEPEspbWI).

DrumSetMan19

It's because there are so many kinds of motors. See this chart for reference: https://i.pinimg.com/736x/1d/85/5d/1d855d7bc06ee13c888a78c4cba45ab9.jpg

Good point. I think even that chart doesn't cover all of it. I recently had to buy a single-phase asynchronous BDM motor and I don't see that one anywhere in the chart.

txhelgi

I accidentally read BDSM. My brain went down all the wrong paths.

XXX_961

So depending on the application it a different type of winding process?

DrumSetMan19

Yes

toolgifs

Except tree splitters.

olderaccount

Oh yeah. A huge variety of those.

Puzzleheaded_Law_294

Thank you for this.

Caneiac

Used to work in a shop that rewound motors, the machines we had were much different than these production line ones.

olderaccount

Makes sense that a shop like that would have a machine that is a lot more general purpose than the specialized ones at the factory that can do just that one job.

beeg_brain007

A single job **fast af**

olderaccount

Sort of the point of specialization.

beeg_brain007

Yes lol
