He was looking rough and out of shape out there. Made no effort on the ball, and in my estimation he was responsible for Montero's go-ahead goal in the 80'. Bill was pissed that he didn't pick up his man as the CBs crashed the ball.
You guys do realize, that just because a player is subbed on, it doesn't mean they are playing the same position as the player leaving. Asprilla was out on the wing, I'm not making excuses for him, he was truly awful in all aspects of play, but he wasn't playing CMD.
What? Eryk was a CM not a Winger, it was that way the entire match. Mind you, all of our our attackers are pretty fluid when it come to their positioning. But Eryk always moved back centrally when there was a lull or he didn't have possession.
Yeah, but we were tied late in a game on the road, and we were already burned twice on total defensive lapses. In my book, that's not a time to switch to a more attacking posture. Plus, there's a reason we almost never sub out Diego Chara. I get doing so in this case (yellow accumulation worries), but to me, it just was not a time to take him out for someone to not play CMD.
Asprilla is the worst. Lol

He was doing a lot of ball watching on that goal.
Bill was fuming. I'm on team Bill. As a CDM, Asprilla is literally the worst.
Yeah, I think that's a big part of it. Asprilla is not a sub for Diego Chara. Yimmi Chara? Sure. But Ayala should have come on for Diego.

It's still destabilizing to move Eryk to the 6 after he had been playing as practically a winger before then

There isn't always a good choice in a very tight schedule and a limited bench. Personally, I would have rather seen Focheve over Asprilla.
Sure, that would have been better as well.
Someone came up and took the ball from behind and he kept ‘running’ like he still had the ball. WTF?
:(
