the wheelchair men's singles final is being replayed on eurosport and tokito oda is just amazing. only 17 and now the youngest ever world no. 1 with this title. his aggressive game seems to just completely mesh with the clay. the legacy of shingo kunieda is prospering, indeed.
Good for Dodig. I appreciate the guy for having long & successful career. I remember him playing 10 years ago with Marcelo Melo and he was already one of my favorite doubles players back then.
That was quite something from Dodig - in his speech calling out Roland Garros for not treating all players equally, saying that he had to get taxis to the event
I am reserving judgement - I don't know enough context. All I know is Dodig felt strongly enough to talk about his experience during the win speech, which is something significant!
ooooh Dodig using his time to talk about RG's "inadequate" and "unequal" transportation support for him. fair play (there's a thread here about it somewhere)
congrats to Austin for becoming world numero uno tho. what a moment for him, especially after years of toil and the ultimate heartbreak last year.
The tournament normally provides transport but told him his accommodation was too far so he had to make his own arrangements, which I guess he took offence to.
Looks like he's asking of organizers to help with transport better as he was left waiting for taxi for 40 minutes. Maybe also drawing attention to different treatment between players, even though he's a past champion.
Kenin lost in first round quailies match at Rothesay to some player I’ve never heard of. Really thought her win vs Sabs would bring her confidence back
ntm on mother Sonay! jk I'm also more unfamiliar with her game, but I've seen her results this year and she's in pretty good form on the ITFs right now. kenin is just way too streaky on grass.
I think Murray is trying hard to be seeded in Wimbledon. If he win Surbiton he will move to #44 in the ranking. He will need another big run in the next 2 weeks in one ATP to make the cut.
Have to be happy for Krajicek, winning his first slam and becoming dubs no.1. Gave up on a once promising singles career, in which he reached the top 100, at age 27 and shifted his focus to dubs. Cool to see him rewarded.
Always root for Dodig too, who is one of the few tennis players from a genuinely underprivileged background and who received no federation support, so began his career sleeping in a van and driving between Futures events.
I love it how the oldies keep winning things. Rojer last year, Dodig this year, Ram last few years. Plus Novak at AO and maybe FO. All late thirties / early forties. We'd never have had this 20 years ago!!
Since you are so concerned about what is and isn't boring. Maybe you should refrain from making comments like this. Guess what? They are boring as hell!
Some big weeks in ITF for some of the girls I like. Maddy Sieg making her first final of the season at the W25 Setubal final, Katie Swan making the W100 Surbiton final. Both have struggled to get any kind of of pro results this year so very happy to see them succeeding right now
Quick reminder that 3 weeks ago we weren't even sure if Iga would play Roland Garros. And now she's the champion.

List of ATP singles players with 3+ finals at 125 and above this season:

- Alcaraz = 5 (Won IW & Madrid 1000, Barcelona 500, Argentina 250; Lost Rio 500)
- Djokovic = 3 (Won Aussie 2000, Adelaide 250; In RG 2000)
- Rublev = 3 (Won Monte-Carlo 1000; Lost Dubai 500, Srpska 250)
- Norrie = 3 (Won Rio 500; Lost Auckland & Argentina 250)
- Rune = 3 (Won BMW Bavaria 250; Lost Monte-Carlo & Rome 1000)
- Sinner = 3 (Won Montpellier 250; Lost Miami 1000, Rotterdam 500)

- Murray = 3 (Won Aix-en-Provence 175; Lost Doha 250; In Surbiton 125)
- Etcheverry = 3 (Lost Chile & Texas 250, Bordeaux 175)
The one big surprise for me here is that Tsitsipas hasn't yet made his third final of the year. Just the two, both in defeat.
Everyone listed is either in the group that could be expected to challenge for any title, or the group that still plays Challengers tournaments but are clearly a class above
E: Had Rune erroneously on 4, he's on 3
Iga's successful title defense will give her an almost 1k lead over Sabalenka in the fight for #1 (8940 vs 8012). She will need to take grass season seriously this year though, if she wants to stay as #1. I'm seeing she will play a warm-up tournament this season in Germany, unlike last season when she went straight to Wimbledon, so this is a positive sign.
People like to shit on Iga's grass game but they forgot she was 1 set away from a Wimbledon QF 2 years ago. Last season she was simply exhausted after winning so many titles in a row since February. You could clearly see her mind was not on tennis when she played Wimbledon last time.
I'm seeing she will play a warm-up tournament this season in Germany>
You mean bett1open? She withdrew her start already. On the other hand, Osaka is coming back.
She also won the [Girls' Singles at Wimbledon 2018](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2018_Wimbledon_Championships_%E2%80%93_Girls%27_singles), beating the [number #1 seed](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Whitney_Osuigwe) in the first round (Osuigwe was also the ITF Junior World Champion, but her professional career has not gone well since). 1st round was the only match she lost a set too.
I'm curious what she can do, possibly with good draw too. In 2021 Wimby she was even bagelling & breadsticking opponents in early rounds, then took a set off Jabeur who was on the rise that year.
People complaining about this final are idiots. Last year Iga demolished Gauff 6/1 6/3 in 1 hour.
We can't have insane finals all the time but we got a pretty good, competitive 3-set battle today, so I'm satisfied. Another enjoyable slam final this season after the Sabalenka vs Rybakina battle in Melbourne.
Federer was the best Baseline Player on Grass. Nadal was the best Baseline Player on Clay. Novak is the best Baseline Player on Hardcourt. That's just the Men's Game. Iga is the best Womens Baseline Player on Clay. Carlos is the best All-Court player on Clay/Hard?
I'm not making an argument. Just random observations fueled by a Bottle of Pinot and probably too much Vodka. Feel free to discuss while i melt in the insane Summer Heat.
I love Muchova but I'm afraid this might have been the closest she comes to a GS title. Hope she can prove me wrong but she's already 26 and she's never been able to stay healthy for long
Iga just has that IT factor. That champion mentality. She reminds me of Steffi, Roger, Novak & Rafa. Just nails under pressure. That tenacity will win her many more slams. So happy for her.
The king of clay may be absent, but the monarchy is not.
Open era players with more French Open titles than Iga Swiatek
Nadal (14)
Evert (7)
Graf, Borg (6)
Henin (4)
It is so tone deaf for them to have Chrissy give the trophy to Iga considering she’s been the biggest critic of Iga and honestly a downright, well another C word that rhymes with runt, about Iga. Saying this as an American too. I’d be pisssed if I was her
I don't think Iga cares
But yes, not a fan of Chrissy Evert, thank god Serena is retired at least so we don't have to hear her mention Serena twice every sentence on broadcast
That she wasn’t special, it is just a weak era, she’s not very good for a number 1, don’t expect the Iga era to be long, her match streak isn’t impressive. Like the amount of quotes of her shitting on Iga is endless. It’s so weird
That’s awful. I could tell against Guaff she was really rooting for Coco but I only thought that bias was because you know, patriotism. But this isn’t it. Iga has showed she’s so much more than a flash in the pan and a true champion. You couldn’t ask for a better ambassador for this sport, she’s near perfect.
Iga has 4 slams and she is barely 22.
She didn't play a spectacular match but this experience, with a break down in the 3rd set of a slam final, will give her a lot of strength going forward.
I'm so overcome with emotion right now. Iga is such an icon. The way she gutted that out with everything against her? Muchova was previously the only one to beat her from a set down on clay. So knowing that and seeing Iga fall apart in set 2 and lose 8 straight points to start set 3, it would be so easy to mentally lose control. But she fought and she fought and she did the damn thing. Surreal #4. Legend of the game.
If Murray can close this out it will be the first time since 2016 he's made 3 finals in a season, and all on different surfaces:
- Doha (H) v Medvedev in February
- Aix En Provence (C) v Paul in May
- Surbiton (G) v Rodionov/Bergs in June
I had Prizmic easily winning the Junior tournament and it seems it's happening right now. Tbh he's already a pro player (in the top 300), so it was quite expected
Seeing people on Twitter blame Carlos’ cramping on the lack of bo5 throughout the year and calling for more. People need to calm down lol. He played 3 straight 5 setters leading up to the USO final, the stress just got to him in his match yesterday. The tennis calendar is brutal enough already, we don’t need to be adding more bo5 matches to it.
I feel like a lot of Novak fans are trumpeting this idea that it was all nerves and stress (to play up their favourite).
They play a role, but ultimately cramps are rare and it happens. He got cramps playing Norrie in a 250, I guess he was really nervous then too.
Shit happens, we move.
Of course. But Carlos on what caused the cramping: [“the main thing was the tension that I had the first 2 sets.”](https://www.theguardian.com/sport/video/2023/jun/10/carlos-alcaraz-french-open-semi-final-cramps-were-caused-by-nerves-video)
If he can’t handle the stress of facing Novak now, when he was blasting his way to the SF, then when can he? It’s not like he can wait for Novak to retire right? Novak isn’t going anywhere for at least 4 more years when he knows he can easily beat the rest of the field in bo5 at slams. I know he’s only 20 but he was supposed to be the _chosen one_ the _next big thing_ and he got his ass handed to him by a 36 year old bloke who many on here questioned whether he’d have the legs to go toe-to-toe with Carlos.
I’m a Novak fan but I don’t think Carlos got his ass handed to him. I do think he was not ready for that level and Novak was going to win the match regardless of cramps, but Carlos is the heir apparent. He just learned a lesson this weekend. Novak is different than the rest of the tour. Carlos will up his level.
The only thing that can prepare you for a gs match against one of the big 3 is a gs match against one of the big 3. He’s now got his first one under his belt. He’ll be fine
I sincerely hope you’re right I really do. For as great as Novak is, I want to see healthy competition in the men’s game kinda like what we had between 2008-16. Thing is I can easily see Novak winning 3/4 slams every year til he’s 40 such is the level of competition around him. Carlos might not figure out how to play Novak until he’s 25 himself.
Carlos' problem was stress imo, his stamina is good and proven
That said I would like to see BO5 finals in Masters 1000 back, especially for the 2-weeks Masters 1000, it would make last rounds less underwhelming
I think that would make it way more likely that the IW, Madrid, and Canada finalists withdraw from Miami, Rome, and Cincy. Also think we’d see more players withdrawing before the final or retiring during it.
Has anyone made an analysis of how many grand slams djokovic could have won in 2007-2010 if Federer and Nadal didn’t exist. I’m pretty sure he wouldn’t have won any in 2009 though
Only gonna give him slams that seem near guaranteed (like he’d probably win USO 2008 but Murray would have a great shot):
2007 FO, WC, USO
2008 FO
2010 USO
I guess 2010 USO is really close to when he hit his peak anyway.
2007 FO would be against davydenko/Robredo after moya. 2008 FO would play Almagro and then Monfils/Gonzalez so. So that’s interesting
2007 USO yea but would face roddick probably. 2007 Wimbledon he had a double injury.
This year is probably the most
important year of Novaks career as each GS has 2 or more things they will accomplish if won.
1. A0 - he tied Rafa for 22, and he got his double
digits GS (10 AOs)
2. RG - if he wins it, he will have 3x Career GS, and
overtake Rafa and have 23 GS
3. WB- 24th GS (more than even Women Singles)
and ties Federer for 8 WB
4. UO - this one is CYGS and his 2nd 4 concurrent
slams (his Nole Slam was 1st), and it would be his
25th.
I know he isnt even half way there, but i thought his
2021 run was his golden chance to win it all, but
this year proves just as opportune to win it all. And
if he wins RG, he is favourite for WB, so the dream
is pretty much alive.
Just had to get this out of my head.
Even RG will solidify him as GOAT
P.S. how many weeks will he be no1 if he wins RG? Up to wimbledon? Or ?
If Us open draw is decent for him, there's a chance that he wins. Don't really wanna speak too much about the Calender GS (superstitious) but the experience of crumbling under pressure is only going to help Novak if it gets to that.
He’s going to do it. Check my history, been saying he’s on for the CYGS and nothing or no one is stopping him. He knows this is his year to make history that no one not even alcaraz will ever be able to recreate. What’s even scarier is that I’d back him to win at least 3/4 in 2024 as well such is the level of competition he’ll face. Lacklustre.
Katie Swan going well at Surbiton. A Set and a Break up against fellow Brit, Miyazaki currently. Katie Boulter to follow in the 2nd Womens Semi-Final. Andy Murray faces the Aussie, Jordan Thompson later. With temperatures expected to reach 29C today, it's going to be a sweaty day for players and fans alike!
So like other than losing to rafa in RG and being injured/disqualified in USO, if djokovic wins tomorrow he would be 11/13 in grand slams played since his return from elbow injury (2019 RG SF loss to thiem and 2021 USO F loss to Medvedev). And with Wimbledon next
Nadal hasn’t even been his competition outside of clay aside from the 2018 Wimbledon when he made the comeback. It was Thiem followed by Medvedev then Zverev and Tsitsipas and now Alcaraz and Rune. I wouldn’t say that’s weak at all. Also Shapovalov, Berretini, Sinner and Kyrgios all played amazing matches against him in Wimbledon as well besides the insane 2019 WB final with Federer ofc. And he had to face delpotro in another final who had gotten to the final virtually without losing a set
Incredible performance by Oda today. 17, gets his first grand slam title and the youngest ever (new) world number 1. What a talent. Feel for Alfie though, hopefully he has a better fortune in his doubles final
The reaction to Alcaraz cramping has been incredibly weird. It's like all his accomplishments have been rendered meaningless because he cramped in one match lol. Every time a player fails, it's like "that's why the big 3 are so great", tennis fans have become incapable of looking at anything without comparing it to the big 3. Every person has their own journey, random shit happens. Alcaraz cramped because he was stressed and nervous. There's not much more to it. It's not like if he didn't cramp he would have won 30 slams, and because he did he won't win 5 lol, but the overanalysis is amazing.
It's pretty simple. This sub is usually dominated by whoever is winning of the big 3. Right now, Djokovic fans are "feasting", as it were, so they're the most vocal. It's obvious that the "nerves and stress" angle is just them loving the idea of how scared Alcaraz was of fighting a great like Djokovic.
In reality, cramps happen and he cramped against Norrie in a 250 so... I guess Norrie and Djokovic are about the same, then.
People seem to want to forget it was 1-1 and he very well could have won that match without cramps. He is very, very good. That's it.
Because this sub and the tennis media in general has been hyping this kid up to fuck. In the end he’s just another kid who did well at the USO22 and has won a handful of titles without having to face Novak or Rafa (Madrid 22 notwithstanding). Not to belittle his accomplishments at his age but Novak was ALWAYS going to win yday and was ALWAYS favourite to win RG this year as soon as Rafa dropped out. Hate to be the one to say it but he chocked yesterday from the first point. At least he was honest about it.
The overhype around him had to end at some point. I think this will finally put an end to constantly comparing him to Big 3.
And now we can finally enjoy him without putting huge burden on his shoulders. He'll be fine, a new rockstar for the next decade for sure.
Carlitos is gonna be great. Hell he is great. But he did need to be knocked down a peg. He has one Slam.
And Novak didn’t play in that one. Novak reminded everyone who is king. Carlos will be better from this but his time will have to wait a bit longer.
What exactly is the issue with comparing him with the big 3...? He'll either be as good or not, but you're not going to stop the comparisons, because his results thus far have merited it. Plus, the comparisons are good for the sport, it brings eyeballs and builds a narrative.
It doesn’t help that journalists, commentators, etc.. all constantly say he’s the new big 3 all on his own, saying at every great point he makes that they’ve never seen anything like it, « shot of the century », like he plays better than anyone that has come before him.
I agree that we should let him have his own journey, I’m just saying everyone in the tennis world is making that hard.
People are allowed to think he's that good, and they're allowed to think he's not, that's not really the point, the point is the overanalysis of one match, which of course tennis fans love to do.
I’ve wondered about this a lot and I don’t get it. Tbf, I’ve been super whiny in the sub for the last two weeks because it becomes a pretty terrible place around Slams. No one else’s accomplishments mean nothing except the one player you happen to Stan, whether it’s Nole or Rafa or Carlos or whoever. Why can’t we just have nice things, watch amazing tennis and have fun???
Wake up people
New Kasatkina Vlog dropped
Also, y’all talk about Thiem like he died. I’ve only been watching since last years US Open so I didn’t get to see Thiem win the year before but it’s interesting.
Fils beats Harris 6-4 6-4 in the first round of 's hertogenbosch qualies, playing Herbert or Sels in the next round.
A good choice for Fils, he doesn't have much experience on grass and that allows him to get a few points while training for the surface and imo there's no reason for his game to not translate well on grass. His recent form is also good, despite losing in R1 to Fokina
Mpetshi Perricard also playing right now against Vavassori, his serve should work well on grass imo

Ngl, its kind of ludicrous that Daniil is STILL leading the ATP race

Raonic and Nishikori both coming back this week
In b4 Iga retires from tennis and announces she is pregnant /s
Captain Jack Tsparrow & Barbosa, are dating!? did i hear that correctly?
I like Croatians, they don't mince their words and opinions. Champions should be treated like Champions

Yeah, I'm pretty hyped for Austin. Awesome win for him, and the veteran Croat adds yet more silverware to his collection.

NBC just cut off their own coverage of the men’s doubles final wtf
I know! Trying to find where/if it’s airing. Tennis channel says it’s supposed to be on but it’s not.
I see RG already uploaded their 3-minute highlights ... why can't they do better at least for the final match
Iga is boring. I'm sorry but has there ever been a more boring player? I'm sure she's nice and she is a good plyaer but total snoozefest.
Did you watch the same last two matches we all did?!
Since you are so concerned about what is and isn't boring. Maybe you should refrain from making comments like this. Guess what? They are boring as hell!
NBC commentary is ass just like usual

They said it wasn't serious though, he just felt something while hitting
My man Novak taking legs even before the match has begun lmao
Whaat? Nooo
Where did you hear that??
Just now on Eurosport knee apparently
Do you have a link? I can’t find anything
Bad enough to retire?!

Good comment but Rune 4? What does In RG mean?
That was a mistake I momentarily forgot it's Ruud not Rune in the RG final, will update now
👍
Quality comment - worth noting though that Tsitsipas was struggling with a shoulder injury until a month or so ago

No, that's Berlin (WTA 500). She will play Bad Homburg (WTA 250) also in Germany, 1 week later. Osaka is pregnant.

When I watch Iga’s press conference later, they better have put some tiramisu in the trophy by then 😤.
So, yeah, that "I'm feeling 22" reference completely went over Mac's head

It's the dopamine addicts. They think everything in real life should progress like an anime or something.
Doubles on peacock too?
Probably two hours after airing
I’m still shocked Tsitsipas and Bodosa are dating
Badosa has been going downhill last few months and now this. Can't take this anymore
And huge thanks to my dad, I definitely wouldn't be here without him
She was close of swearing lol

why did u mention steffi and not serena
Recency bias
🐐
Lmao I knew that lid was gonna. Fall off the way she was shaking it
Poland Garros
Trophy lid flew lmao
I love how she’s like the most awkward nervous person ever except when she plays tennis
Not to continue the comparison but young Rafa was so awkward around cameras and mics.
Broke the trophy lmao
I mean she didnt break it, it just have this put on thingy at the top so if you put it upside down its gonna fall lmaoo
Immediately checking for tiramisu
Man I always tear up watching trophy ceremonies 🥲
Iga herself looks like she's going to cry listening to her
The king of clay may be absent, but the monarchy is not. Open era players with more French Open titles than Iga Swiatek Nadal (14) Evert (7) Graf, Borg (6) Henin (4)
serena (doubles)
I feel terrible for her
It is so tone deaf for them to have Chrissy give the trophy to Iga considering she’s been the biggest critic of Iga and honestly a downright, well another C word that rhymes with runt, about Iga. Saying this as an American too. I’d be pisssed if I was her
I don't think Iga cares But yes, not a fan of Chrissy Evert, thank god Serena is retired at least so we don't have to hear her mention Serena twice every sentence on broadcast
Fair. She’s a nut job so I’m hoping she doesn’t give a shit about Chrissy
I can’t remember, what has Chris said?
That she wasn’t special, it is just a weak era, she’s not very good for a number 1, don’t expect the Iga era to be long, her match streak isn’t impressive. Like the amount of quotes of her shitting on Iga is endless. It’s so weird
That’s awful. I could tell against Guaff she was really rooting for Coco but I only thought that bias was because you know, patriotism. But this isn’t it. Iga has showed she’s so much more than a flash in the pan and a true champion. You couldn’t ask for a better ambassador for this sport, she’s near perfect.
Yikes 😬
Crunt?
Sounds like "Time" from Inception
Iga has 4 slams and she is barely 22. She didn't play a spectacular match but this experience, with a break down in the 3rd set of a slam final, will give her a lot of strength going forward.
1G4 Iga, she’s just got that champion mentality.
Wow. Take a bow… ladies and gentlemen - 1GA ŚWIĄTEK! She’s already a legend 👏🏻🏆🏆🏆🏆
It’s 1G4 now
MuryGoat
If Murray can close this out it will be the first time since 2016 he's made 3 finals in a season, and all on different surfaces: - Doha (H) v Medvedev in February - Aix En Provence (C) v Paul in May - Surbiton (G) v Rodionov/Bergs in June
Did Andy Murray just hit 4 aces in a row?
Serve-botting is a plague.
ha! don't think it was actually 4 aces a couple must've been unreturned as I just saw the set stats. Fun match!
So either our wooden spooner is gonna be Martincova (Swiatek wins) or Mandlik (Muchova wins)
that Stuttgart draw is STACKED - tsitsi, kyrgios (he’s back!!!), fritz, berrettini , tommy paul, hurkacz, tiafoe, musetti etc
You think kyrgios will be rusty? He opens against wu
a bit rusty i’d guess, hasn’t played in a while but he should get past wu on grass comfortably still
good way for dino to end his junior career
I had Prizmic easily winning the Junior tournament and it seems it's happening right now. Tbh he's already a pro player (in the top 300), so it was quite expected
Why the schedule link in the post leads to Australian Open schedule?
I mean Carlos himself said it was nerves
He said he was nervous, which is to be expected. But it's not like every time you are nervous you will cramp.

Wow!
Carlos' problem was stress imo, his stamina is good and proven That said I would like to see BO5 finals in Masters 1000 back, especially for the 2-weeks Masters 1000, it would make last rounds less underwhelming
I think that would make it way more likely that the IW, Madrid, and Canada finalists withdraw from Miami, Rome, and Cincy. Also think we’d see more players withdrawing before the final or retiring during it.
When Match Thread?????
Stuggart draw when?
Super nervous about women's final today 😭
Holy shit, as a huge Iga fan, and Inter fan since I was a little girl, this day could end up fuckin epic or with a lot of tears and wine 😁😁
Which treble will it be?
I think we need a TsitsiDosa megathread.
The only thing we need is to sb take their phones aways so we won't be seeing more of this cringe fest...at least for few days pls
Their relationship is more interesting than mens final this year 😂
Has anyone made an analysis of how many grand slams djokovic could have won in 2007-2010 if Federer and Nadal didn’t exist. I’m pretty sure he wouldn’t have won any in 2009 though
Only gonna give him slams that seem near guaranteed (like he’d probably win USO 2008 but Murray would have a great shot): 2007 FO, WC, USO 2008 FO 2010 USO
I guess 2010 USO is really close to when he hit his peak anyway. 2007 FO would be against davydenko/Robredo after moya. 2008 FO would play Almagro and then Monfils/Gonzalez so. So that’s interesting 2007 USO yea but would face roddick probably. 2007 Wimbledon he had a double injury.
This year is probably the most important year of Novaks career as each GS has 2 or more things they will accomplish if won. 1. A0 - he tied Rafa for 22, and he got his double digits GS (10 AOs) 2. RG - if he wins it, he will have 3x Career GS, and overtake Rafa and have 23 GS 3. WB- 24th GS (more than even Women Singles) and ties Federer for 8 WB 4. UO - this one is CYGS and his 2nd 4 concurrent slams (his Nole Slam was 1st), and it would be his 25th. I know he isnt even half way there, but i thought his 2021 run was his golden chance to win it all, but this year proves just as opportune to win it all. And if he wins RG, he is favourite for WB, so the dream is pretty much alive. Just had to get this out of my head. Even RG will solidify him as GOAT P.S. how many weeks will he be no1 if he wins RG? Up to wimbledon? Or ?
As a big nole fan it won't happen. 2021 was as close as he was going to go.
You can never say that untill its over
If Us open draw is decent for him, there's a chance that he wins. Don't really wanna speak too much about the Calender GS (superstitious) but the experience of crumbling under pressure is only going to help Novak if it gets to that.
He already is 🐐! BALDAL GOT NOTHING ON HIM!!!
Kinda pathetic how this is an upvoted comment.
Lacklustre.
Just enjoying my last day of Nadal having the grand slam record with Novak before Novak overtakes him
Enjoy bud
Still has to win 3 sets.
If it wasn’t RG it 100% was going to be Wimby.
He hasn’t won it yet
Great week to be a Serbian athlete huh
Alcaraz's on the run FH is his biggest weakness imo
True. Sinner and djokovic have exploited it. He needs to work on the timing and shorten the tacke back as Thiem did.
Big if true. No one was pointing at it until Novak exposed it
They were pointing it out before this match but he really exposed it
Katie Swan going well at Surbiton.
Incredible record, but has to be acknowledged that men’s competition is weak af. His only competition is the other 37 year old bloke.
Korneeva breaks to win her second Junior slam of the year, 7-5 6-3. She's already 18, but she is halfway to the junior calendar slam. ;)
She’s 15
Oh you're right, I got their ages mixed up. Much more impressive!
She actually beat the now top 100 Mirra Andreeva in the AO final as well.
She is 15 tho
The record is 3 in a year
A nightmare final for me as hater of both Novak and Casper.
Why do you hate Casper?
thought he was overranked and didn't have top 5 upside
More like a nightmare life
Incredible performance by Oda today.
"Always going to win"... yeah, okay man.
He's not just another kid lol. He's literally one of the greatest teenagers in the history of tennis.
Because he’s still 19 majors away from being in that discussion
Congrats Oda! Hewett seemed like weaker player today
Korneeva tilting a little, got a gentle talking to from the umpire at changeover. She's also a set and a break up, so.
Wake up people New Kasatkina Vlog dropped Also, y’all talk about Thiem like he died. I’ve only been watching since last years US Open so I didn’t get to see Thiem win the year before but it’s interesting.
I’m putting a lot of money down on Iga so she better win in 2 sets
Fils beats Harris 6-4 6-4 in the first round of 's hertogenbosch qualies, playing Herbert or Sels in the next round. A good choice for Fils, he doesn't have much experience on grass and that allows him to get a few points while training for the surface and imo there's no reason for his game to not translate well on grass. His recent form is also good, despite losing in R1 to Fokina Mpetshi Perricard also playing right now against Vavassori, his serve should work well on grass imo
I was watching and his strokes seem like they could translate well onto grass + his big serve (Flis)
I am glad they're broadcasting the men's wheelchair final. It's been a fun match to see though it looks like Oda might win it in straight sets.
