I’m claiming edge at 35
By - webbedlizardbits
I am worried for you, because at your senior citizen age you might be putting yourself at a strategic disadvantage of not hearing "you'll grow out of it" and "it's just a phase you're going through" frequently enough.
You’re right. I’ll probably be met with grave nods and, “it’s understandable at your age”.
I claimed edge at 38 after being sober for 2 years. It feels weird to claim edge this late, but I can't imagine ever drinking or using again. As Inclination aptly puts it, I wanna feel everything uninhibited.
Congratulations on your decision.
Thank you. That is so true. I want to cultivate good character, rather than seeking refuge in substances. Thank you again for your support, and for sharing your story.
x OLD EDGE x
I am 35 and have been sober for a few years now. It only gets better. Congratulations, and good luck to your future family!
Thank you for your support, it means a lot!
Lots of good people in the scene
The more I delve, the more I realise that.
Congratulations! I’m 47, it gets easier as you get older, especially with kids.
Straight Edge is wasted on the young
41 haven’t had a drink or drug in 10 months now. Don’t ever plan on going back seems like a lot of wasted years after spending most of my twenties completely sober as well
I'm claiming edge again at 43 after more than a decade spent in the intoxication culture. It's been 8 months so far and I'm seeing this through until the end for political reasons more than anything. Let's stay positive and keep the doors open for more to join at any age from any past. Congrats by the way!
I’m 45. No drugs, no alcohol, no fap. 2 years now. I would claim straight edge but it seems way to conformist 🤷🏻♂️
What an amazing effort!! Well done!
