What is the latest inkling of what the hell insurance is actually going to be?
I think we're pretty sure that CIG is not going to make it so that ships you pay real money for are gone without insurance.
So is it going to be a faster reclamation time? A difference between whether a reclaimed ship comes as it an as-new loadout vs the loadout it had when it got popped?
This business with the Galaxy being available with LTI, but the modules if purchased individually, only come with 120 month insurance, is weird.
Or is the WHOLE DAMN THING just a typo?
The current state of stated intent with insurance is that it will, even for in-game purchased ships, be a very cheap and easy thing to maintain as long as you aren't operating big capital or subcapital ships where operating costs are intended to be a balancing factor. The intent for cash ships is that you will be able to re-up that insurance if it lapses easily and in perpetuity as long as you can afford it in-game, possibly at a discounted rate, whereas regular ships would only be able to re-up insurance as long as the ship itself is not destroyed.
The stated intent for the final state of insurance is that base insurance will not cover components, which modules would be considered, but that coverage for that could be available, either as a separate insurance policy or as an upgrade to the ship's insurance policy, TBD. The module insurance is, presumably, a version of this that will specifically insure the module purchased, though one would imagine, similar to ship insurance for bought ships, that access to a purchased module would always be fairly readily available, even in if you've gotten yourself into a state where you might otherwise have been unable to afford it.
Not a typo, Spectrum is basically erupting with "wtf CIG, why no LTI on the modules".
We can only speculate how CIG is going to handle this but I think the concensus is that we will not lose real money purchases.
That being said it might become more difficult to claim an item without insurance - there may be a really long reclaim timer or maybe some other mechanic like a long winded recovery mission of some kind.
Are the modules for the Endeavour still on sale occasionally? If so, when, and where in the shop would I find them?
Yup, they are. Like - right now.
Go to "pledge store" on the RSI website, pick "Extras" and type "endea" in the search box.
Thanks, I figured they would be available at IAE, but I hadn’t seen them haha.
Anyone know how to open a ramp whose interface won't show up anymore?
C8X pisces, I have tried moving the ship to another location, customizing the ship, moving to every location known to man. The F interface for the ramp will not show up anymore, so I cannot enter this ship anymore.
There is now a control panel on the right side of the ship to control open/close.
I did see the control panel, try to spam click it, but it didn't work as well......
Saw people saying a character reset fixed it for them.
EDIT: Doh, simple things first! Check you're pressing the new button as the other poster said.
Hi new player here and got in through the free fly event, loving the game so far. I am particularly interested in all aspect of spaceship combat and wondering what content is currently available for this. I know there is bounty hunting missions with VLRT all the way up to ERT, which is what I am doing right now. I also know there is arena commander but because I can't earn currency in arena commander I can't do much with a stock aurora. Are there more missions / content related to ship combat? Appreciate your help!
I don't have much experience in Arena Commander, so I'll write about the PU (persistent universe).
For PvE you're already doing it.
There are PvP bounties but that is very variable since players can go to ground or log off.
If you're keen on ship PvP I'd suggest looking up Johnathan Winters and Avenger__One on YouTube. Both have insightful vids on ship combat. Also checkout the streamers that participated in the recent Atmos eSports tournament. All are good pilots and have communities you could join.
Hope that helps.
Thank you for the info! Yeah I want to get the basics down in all the available PvE content first, since PVP tend to get a lot harder.
In terms to ship to ship combat that's pretty much it - you have your PVE bounties (and beacons) or the HordeSwarm/PVP stuff in Arena Commander.
In any case you will have (kind of) a bad time in a aurora - it's a starter ship not a fighter. I would suggest you start in the PU with some box running or FPS bounties to get to know the game/mechanics and some money - the first real fighterships start at around 1 Mil. aUEC
Thanks for the suggestion. Grinding in PU is what I am doing now. I was actually able to jump straight into VLRT with stock Aurora, and gradually improving my Aurora with better modules to take on higher risk targets. I think the ship's capability tops out at around MRT / HRT. I am debating on either getting avenger titan or a more dedicated fighter like arrow or gladius.
How do I get the game to stop crashing? Can't walk 10 steps without the game crashing
If it's that soon after logging in, my guess would be lack of memory... if you only have 16gb or Ram, then you need at least ~50gb free space on your SSD for the pagefile (plus some spare space left over to keep the SSD happy - they slow down significantly if filled to capacity).
SC can use up to 40gb of Ram during events like IAE.
I've been crashing this build. Might try deleting your shaders folder.
I've been having to reinstall once a week.
Well first would be a good idea to know what is even causing the crash or if you are asking others to first give your specs so we might have a rough idea what should be expected with it.
The game has logs, its best to look at the last 50 lines of them to see what was causing it. For example the most common reason is an "Out of memory error" when people with less than 32GB of RAM play?. In that case increase the pagefile and make sure its on an SSD (ideally a different one than SC is on): https://support.robertsspaceindustries.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000083387-Out-of-memory-errors-set-your-pagefile
Is there any use for the UEE medals and artefact fragments that you find at derelict sites? Do they sell anywhere?
Not much use to them that we’ve found so far other than collecting them
Is there a list/chart of best value concept ships to buy based on their loaners? Like the Galaxy is a cheap Carrack currently, or the Railen with the 3 loaners you get.
Not in terms of monetary value, you'd just be looking at the ship loaner matrix.
Is the lti cutter package worth getting for people with the concierge game pack? I guess getting the discounted SQ42 would be nice, at the same though I still have the foundation festival package with 6 months insured 100i but the painting is really nice …
Question is why you would want another package in the first place instead of a standalone ship ?
If you're concierge you already have game access as a concierge perk even if you would melt the pack.
It’s rare, I guess? They don’t have lti game packages on sale often. Plus theres a discount for buying game package + SQ42, which I don’t have.
Ok ok, had a brain fart and didn't register you wanted SQ42 with it. Sure, in that case I think it's a good deal.
Noob question. Just started and called for my ship in Lorville. It’s in hanger 9 and all 6 elevators only go to hanger 1-5. Is there another set of elevators for higher hanger numbers?
You can use the scroll wheel on the elevator menu to find higher numbered hangars.
Unless you're in the wrong elevator section, IIRC Lorville does have 2 different areas for different numbered elevators.
Look at the elevator pad on the wall and hold F, then scroll down. It will scroll the list down and give you access to the other hangars
Ah, scroll. The one thing I didn’t think of…
Hahaha you’re all good mate. The interaction system is a bit weird to get used to, but you’ll get the hang of it quick.
If I already own one of the BiS ships, will I get the skin?
Yes, if it’s in your hangar you’ll get the skin.
Great, thank you.
If I were to get myself and some friends started on this game (PTU).
What string of activities should we do to have a fun first impression? I would like my friends to feel like its worth it. I'm thinking FPS game play, dog fighting game play, fun co-op missions maybe. What activities are available that a group of friends can play? Are there Co-op PVE missions? are there team based pvp? escort missions?
From the video's I've seen a lot of large scale stuff are just a group of players roleplaying teams. That's not what I'm looking for, nor are we interested in joining a corp/clan.
I just don't have direction; I've never played the game before. I don't know how to navigate to the fun part. I get that it's not supposed to be a theme-park mmo, but if we start a game struggling to find what to do in a largely incomplete game then it's very possible we miss the elements that make it worth it.
First I suggest finding a veteran to guide you or start alone first and learn the basics: on foot navigation, getting and flying your ship, ship combat as pilot and gunner, fps combat, medical gameplay, inventory handling, missions, law system, etc. This is because the game has a steep learning curve.
Then, as a group of ships I would do some easy bounty hunting, then as a group in one big ship (borrowed or rented) some medium bounty hunting, then a "defend" bunker mission, then a "rescue 890 Jump" FPS in spsce mission.
If something very fun or very horrible hasn't occurred yet, I would buy some land vehicles, spawn them at an outpost and do a race / demolition derby.
P.S. For fun you can make a party of maximum 4 and enter Arena Commander PvE or PvP modes.
>in one big ship
how big are we talking about? Hammerhead? Will connie suffice?
Big enough for everyone to have something to do.
Connie should be plenty.
Hate to tell ya, but y’all have just missed out on the free fly event where you’d have access to a bunch of ships for free.
Aside from that, I would just want to stress the fact that this isn’t a finished game at all, so you absolutely will encounter annoying game breaking bugs that will completely shatter your morale.
If you’re still keen on playing with mates, then literally anything is available to you and your friends in the PTU.
You can take bounty missions that will be dogfighting in your ships, or merc missions which are ground based FPS. If you want a bit of down time, you can do some trading or mining if you’ve got the right ship for it. If you don’t, you can always rent one.
As for team based PvP, there’s another game mode called Star Marine which is basically your standard TDM, but exists outside of the PTU.
>game breaking bugs that will completely shatter your morale.
What are some examples?
Elevators are a dice roll, you’ll either not be able to enter them, or they’ll despawn when you’re in the and yeet you into the aether.
Space cops will stop you randomly, and never let you leave; they’ll either fly into you and give you a crime stat, or you’ll move a tiny bit and they’ll blast you with a size10 missile.
If you attempt an “Investigate Mining Claim” mission, big chances are you’ll get there, and won’t be able to find a damn thing. Same goes for the investigation missions where you need to find a dead crew in a crashed ship.
If you attempt any of the bunker missions (found under the Mercenary tab) you run the risk of enemies teleporting with server desync and shooting you in the back with magic bullets, or enemies won’t spawn at all, leaving the count at 8/8 until you abandon the mission, or worse yet, having everything go smoothly, only to be hit with an infinite loading inventory bug which stops you from being able to loot.
These are all but a few things that *might* happen to you on your adventures.
They might happen a lot, or not at all, but do be weary that it is absolutely a possibility, as these few bugs are only what I’ve personally had happen to me in the past couple weeks.
damn... its things like these that make one want to wait a while until things are more polished. But we're talking about Star Citizen here; certainly waited a long time. *sigh*
If I have a C8R and no other variant will I still get the BIS skin?
Will the best on show ships stay on sale until the end of the event?
Will the C8X with LTI be on sale again?
Nope. Ships only have LTI when they are first announced, be it Concept or Straight to Flyable.
The only way to get a C8X with LTI is to wait for a new ship to come out that costs $40 or less (Because the C8X costs $45), buy it, then upgrade it to the C8X.
The Cutter is $45, so it can't be upgraded to the C8X, alas.
I was able to get the standalone warbond LTI Cutter for $40, then ccu that to the C8X for an additional $15. However this doesn't help you if you also need a game package.
You upgraded to the C8R, but that's still a very good ship.
Yes I flew the cutter for a couple of missions but didn't care for it. I was after the pisces anyway after finding it very useful back in the last Invictus.
Yup - but the OP wanted the C8X (exploration variant with cargo capacity), not the C8R (medical variant with a medbed and no cargo).
Yeah I know, I posted just in case he was willing to settle for the c8r.
AFAIK you should have owned it yesterday to get the skin today.
If you owned any version of the Pisces in your account Hangar at the cutoff last night, you will be credited with the Pisces BIS skin sometime in the next couple days.
So wanted to try doing some trading today, rented a RAFT, and flew around Stanton but couldn't seem to get any of the trading terminals anywhere to recognize my ship. I tried storing it and recalling it on different terminals and different servers as well, also this is not the first time it's happened to me. anyone got any ideas on how to fix this or am I just cursed never to trade?
I’ve had success in just leaving my ship active on the pad. Although most times my ship gets impounded by the time I get back, but it’s the only way I’ve had the terminals recognise me being there
Ahhh I tried that again and it still didn’t work for me unfortunately, I think my character is broken.
I get commodity price alerts for Plasma Fuel, but I haven't thus far been able to locate it in any capacity, is it just filler? does this commodity exist?
If Plasma Fuel as a commodity is either bugged or just filler, do the commodity price alerts actually work, or are they just currently in game to spam your UI?
This is not a currently available commodity.
Has anyone gotten their BIS skins yet? Im dying to melt these ships so I can buy the ones I want....
Not yet. I had all of the paints by this time last year, so something's delaying it. Hopefully they'll show up by day's end.
Yea thats what I was starting to think... Maybe they are clocking everyone who has the ships in their hanger on the 27th.... So maybe we will get them tomorrow...
But everything I read made it sound like if you have the ships in your hanger, you get the BIS skins on the 27th.
But yea, hopefuly by the time we wake up tomorrow we have them.
I have all four in my hangar and I haven't gotten shit yet. :/
EDIT: Apparently they're being released in waves and as long a you had the ships in your hangars before the 27th it counts.
AFAIK you should have owned it yesterday to get the skin today.
your only choice now is to buy the BIS version.
C8R still gets the skin.
If I melt my Redeemer to Galaxy CCU, will I be able to buy it back at the same price I paid for it?
I've read that CCU buy backs go up in price, if the concept ship does, but I have a contradicting experience. I had a 325 to hull B CCU in my buy that I just bought back for $15. It was in my buy back, since the concept sale and I just bought it back a few weeks ago for $15. The original hull B was $90 and the current price is $140. I used it in a ccu to a 600i and saved $50. Not sure if this was a screw up or not.
That's awesome. It sounds like there's always a risk of not being able to buy back a CCU at the price you originally paid for it but there's neither any guarantee that this will always happen (as with your case).
Likely not if the Galaxy goes up in price.
Damn. Might have to sit on it then.
Edit: Confirmed: *As with everything else, when a ship upgrade is reclaimed, it is intended to be permanent. The Buy Back system allows you to buy back a pledge or upgrade you regret reclaiming. However, the price of an upgrade may change, potentially costing more when bought back. All buy back upgrades will be presented with the latest prices, not the price you paid when first buying it.*
*In the rare case that one of the ships associated with the upgrade has increased in price above the upgrade's target value, attempting to buy back the upgrade will result in an error. If this is the case, then said upgrade is gone for good and RSI Support cannot assist with recovering it.*
Where is the page that had the full layout of the Galaxy? I remember there was a page that let you click to see what each section of the ship was and i can't find it any more.
I'm sorry if I sound like every other question regarding this: I have an MSR do I get the BIS skin for free? Or am I going to have to buy that shit?
You will get it for free as long as it was in your hangar before today. They're being distributed in waves over the last few days of the event, so you don't need to worry if you haven't received it yet.
We are supposed to get them for free today.... But I dont have mine yet either.
Odd. I heard they were doing it in waves similar to the ship naming.
Is there a reason why we get the Super Hornet as a Loaner for the Hurricane?
The Hurricane isn't in Arena Commander, since AC doesn't support spawning a 2nd player in the turret, so you get a Super Hornet to use there.
Will the Super Hornet also be spawn able in the normal game, while I have a Hurricane in my Hangar?
Yes. Ships given as loaners for use in AC are also accessible in the PU.
I think it's because both have a manned turret.
No - as /u/Pojodan says, it's because the Hurricane isn't supported in AC.
The Superhornet turret is slaved to the pilot when there is no-one in the second seat (because it's a remote turret, not a manned turret).
I own a Carrack, do I need to do anything special to get the best in show skin?
As long as you own it on your web hangar and not just in game you just need to wait for the skin to arrive.
I bought it with real world money. Do I need to claim it before a certain date?
Nothing to claim. Just keep the Carrack in your hangar until they distribute them.
Hi everyone, if i buy the Cutter IAE with LTI and then upgrade it to a Avenger Titan, will it have LTI too? How do i upgrade it?
Yes, if the ship in your package has LTI when you use the ship upgrade system the LTI will remain as only the ship itself changes.
Again, thanks, I have just bought the Cutter IAE pack and upgraded it for an Avenger for $10
Hi everyone! I have a question. When I move my mouse it is very laggy and changing the graphics quality does nothing. I tried turning off v sync, but it still happens. Are my specs too low? I have a Ryzen 7 5800 cpu, 16 gb of ram and RTX 3070. I've also never seen any game max out my ram and CPU usage. I am also running win 11
Do you have the game installed on an SSD?
Outside of that follow a performance guide like [this one](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/10GTXs6nvbTATYvdgYkFBUiHnox1-j1pHpCKcjVKgRMM/edit#gid=1381618646) to get the best performance.
I am on a SSD. I'll try the guide thanks.
Hi everyone, vetertan backer here (2014) who hasnt touched the ship store in the last two years. Have any big changes been made to the melting or ship upgrade system that I should be aware of? Was hoping to change up my fleet a bit. I have an Origin 325a starter package that has squadron 42 ($80), then a drake caterpillar pirate edition that was upgrades to a C2 Hercules. I also have $45 sitting in my account I wanted to utilize.
I want more cargo capacity than my C2 has long-term, so I was planning on melting my C2 Hercules, and upgrading my 325a game package to the Hull D, then picking up the new medical c8 Pisces variant as my daily driver. The Hull-D loaner is the Hercules, so I can still fly it while the Hull-D becomes flight-ready.
My question is if I regret this move down the line for whatever reason, can I melt everything to get my original 325a package back plus the remaining money to invest in a different ship or ships? Have there been any major changes with the melting and buyback token system I should be aware of?
There have been no major changes to the melting system. Everything you mention is pretty standard.
Great, thanks for the help!
does anybody know when the crusader genesis is expected to come out, because it's one of the ship that made me start to play the game back in 2019 and was hoping it would release around this time.
No, but it would be very surprising if it was any time soon. CIG have been reluctant to work on large capital-class ships in general, and have recently taken a "we don't want to build ships we can't finish" stance that has put the much more anticipated Merchantman on the backburner, even, so it seems unlikely the Genesis will be implemented before transporting people is a supported game loop, which isn't likely to happen until AI is functional on live servers, which won't happen until servers improve, which is going to be part of Server Meshing, which will have several stages of implementation, but can't start until PES is done, which is only just now getting near release with 3.18. So you're still waiting on several major tech implementations before the ship would function in any capacity more than the 890J currently, which is also basically what the Starliner is an alternative to, which further decreases its priority.
Basically, no one knows when, but there's every reason to believe it will not be for a long while yet.
Sincerely I would be happy just to drive the ship around, like the 890.
I'm sure you would, but for CIG the cost of doing that is clogging their ship development pipeline for a year or more, which makes it a hard choice to make.
yeah I know, if I have to predict a possible release date would be after the release of the pyro system so a big ship like that could be used to transport people around.
Indeed - we're more likely to see the Spirit E1 (if I have the right variant) first, as CIG work on the 'Passenger Transport T0' game loop... and only once they've iterated on that a time or two will they be in a position to work on e.g. the Genesis (or so I speculate :p)
if i buy the standalone iae pieces, then melt it after IAE, do i keep the red skin?
Assuming you mean the Best in Show paint. Once you get the skin attributed to you for owning the ship, yes you can melt the ship and still keep the paint. They did say you had to already own it by today though. So I'd get it ASAP.
Don't think so.
If you're talking about buying the C8R, then the 'red skin' comes as part of the game package - and will be melted with the package.
Can the Mustang Beta do box missions? I'd been toying with the idea of CCUing my Aurora to it, because I liked the cargo lift they added and the Beta's little apartment is nice and doesn't risk ejecting you to hardvac when you get out of bed, but when I went to rent one today, I noticed it doesn't seem to have that cargo lift. Makes sense, in retrospect, that space has to come from somewhere, but does put a damper on using it for deliveries after a reset, unless there's another way to handle it.
Rent a different ship. The Alpha is cheap and will do box missions now.
Beta is good for bunkers.
> I'd been toying with the idea of CCUing my Aurora to it
Renting isn't a relevant solution to my question, but thanks for confirming it's not able to do packages. :)
No problem. You can fly it for free or very cheap so just take it out for a test run.
In theory, you can make like a typical Fedex delivery driver, and open the canopy then just yeet the box in... and likewise, when you arrive at the destination, pick the box up and yeet it out...
... but that's in theory. I don't have a Beta, so I haven't tried it myself... but you've got a couple of days to rent it for free and try it out, before spending your money :D
Unfortunately, testing seems to indicate throwing boxes even by hand is considered violent and thus not possible in armistice, which means no deliveries for the Beta. Or at least, not in any reasonable way. Alas.
note that tractor beams don't work in armistice, where many of the delivery pickups happen. So yeeting the box in might involve some creative acrobatics.
Based on what little we know so far, how does the Galaxy compare to the Carrack and the Odyssey, specifically in terms of size and function? As a current Carrack (and Carrack to Odyssey CCU) owner, I'm wondering whether it makes sense to pick up a Galaxy as well.
Well one big difference is that the medical beds on the galaxy are the lowest tier, so you can't respawn on them. The carrack only has one mid tier bed, but that means better treatment and respawning.
Not sure on size - but the modular nature of the Galaxy means that you'll need to plan ahead and make sure the appropriate module is loaded for your intended gameplay session...
E.g. if you have the Medical module fitted, you won't be able to haul significant cargo unless you head back to your 'home base' and swap the module first.
But, if you *can* plan ahead, then the Galaxy is likely to be more effective at each function than the Carrack or Odyssey would be
- e.g. for Medical support the Galaxy has 5(6?) beds, compared to one on the Carrack (and I think on the Odyssey?)...
Ok thanks. Do we know if the individual modules are likely to increase in price over time?
CIG haven't said anything, but I suspect they would, as that is CIGs general approach.
If I end up melting my IAE best in show carrack, will it be available in my buy backs? Also, can I melt and re buy a standalone ship multiple rimes? Thinking of swapping between my 600i buyback and carrack every few months if it’s possible.
That's possible. But to buy something back with store credits, you'll need a buyback token. We get one every quarter, two / quarter if you're concierge.
Perfect, thank you.
\[Q\] Will we get a bis skin for pisces rescue or is this only for stock pisces?
Will it be added to our hangar or will we get it for free from just owning the ship?
It's unclear, imo.
CIG have said previously that the BIS skin would be available for both C8 and C8X, to match the fact that both Carracks are getting a BIS skin...
But, this was before the official C8R reveal, and the C8R doesn't come with either Carrack - so it's not clear whether it will get the skin or not (because traditionally the BIS skin is only for the specific winning variant, not all variants of the winning model).
An exception was made for the C8/C8X because of the Carrack skins, but I personally don't think that exception will extend to the C8R.
On Spectrum Zyloh confirmed the C8R purchase counts as a C8 variant and will get the skin. However the skin can only be applied to the C8X and won't be usable on the C8R until patch 3.18.
It *should* be for all variants. They're distributed right to our hangars in waves, so that could take a few days.
Does the price of ship you have in buyback increase or do they stay at the price you paid them the first time ?
As of now, prices for standalone ships in buyback stay the same. This can change at any time if CIG decides to do so.
I'm quite new to the CCU game, as it's my first IAE.
I currently have a Cutter lying around and am interested in the WB offer for the Scorpius.
Does it make sense for me to upgrade the Cutter to the C8R (also WB), and buy an upgrade from the Vulcan to the WB Scorpius for example.... and then hope that more WB offers come in the coming days to close the gap?
The more Warbonds you manage to chain up, the cheaper it becomes - so yup, that would make sense.
Just make sure to not miss the last chance to buy whatever is missing in your chain, as the next sale is - probably - ILW end of May.
Thank you! I get unfortunately contrary statements about whether the BiS offers only run until tomorrow or for the rest of the event ...
Google "CCU game" there is a website/chrome/firefox plugin that will help you with this
Warbonds change every 24 hours. You should buy all in your path upfront (always take the lowest amount of fresh money, so "from: all ships" take the one with highest melt value to whatever the Warbond offer is) and fill the "gaps" with non-warbonds the last day.
Hello everyone. Is NPC wingmen in ***player owned ships*** still a planned mechanic in the future? For example, the player flying a Connie and having two hired NPCs in your ***personally owned*** (***not*** "NPC owned") Hornets?
I am referencing this video from 16:34 to 16:56 [https://youtu.be/wGBIj\_\_ttuc?t=993](https://youtu.be/wGBIj__ttuc?t=993) from almost ten years ago. I tried looking for other posts, but the only ones with references/links are from 5+ years ago (with the link I provided) it seems like, and the rest are theory crafting.
For clarity sake, this question is about NPC wingmen (two or so) being with the player always, until "dismissed." This question is ***not*** about a player hiring NPCs to man their fleet and sending them somewhere else to do missions or grind for passive income.
Hiring NPCs is definitely still planned.
However, there has been no discussion about how flexible / capable that will be, or how we will issue commands, etc. As such, we have no idea whether we can only use them on our ship, or whether we can use them as escorts in 'spare' fighters, etc.
Hiring 'escort' NPCs (with their own ships) is also still planned, I think - but this too is something that hasn't been discussed much.
The lack of discussion is mostly because CIG no longer like to discuss things they're not actively working on, simply because the community has shown a marked habit to take CIGs 'initial thinking' and conflating it as 'guaranteed implementation' - and then throwing a massive strop if/when CIG change the details.
As such, there's no update on what NPCs will actually be able to do, or how flexible they'll be in terms of giving them instructions, etc.
Thanks. Yeah, their position is understandable. I haven't followed the game as closely as I used to a few years ago, so I am way behind on its development. I admit that I was definitely "one of those" who would get upset when things changed from what was stated earlier. Thankfully, I have become less sensitive in recent years. Thanks again for your reply!
About the red alert armor, it's available for 77usd (complete set), but it also looks like it's possible to buy it with in game currency. Does it give any advantage to buy with real money?
In terms of equipment effectivness or effficiency, no - the items from the pledge will be identical to the items bought in-game.
The primary difference will be that pledge items are tied to your account, so if you 'lose' them (through death, etc) you'll get them back with every wipe and/or character reset... and at some unspecified point in the future, CIG will add a 'recovery mechanism' in-game (to avoid having to use the character reset).
note that the demeco isn't sold in game. it is available in high tier bunker missions though.
all the red variants aren't sold in game, and don't drop in bunkers yet (they will probably start dropping after a few months, as with all subscriber items).
Note the CDS wall also sells railguns, rocket launchers and grenade launchers, all of which are not sold in stores and have to be found as loot from bunkers as well, so this is a chance to stock up.
Stock up for the wipe isn't really a good idea lol.
I meant new players who aren't doing high level bunkers have a chance to stock up.
Stuff bought with cash doesn't disappear with wipes.
And there will be a system at some point to get that stuff back when lost - although we don't know at what (ingame) price etc.
how long will sales for the galaxy last? And I need your advice on which pack to CCU to it, I have 2 which are;
\- Corsair (include game + SQ42 + 6 months insurance + other bonuses)
\- 100i LTI
adding to what /u/logicalChimp wrote you can get a Mole-to-Galaxy CCU. Mole is always available and the Galaxy won't be out for at least 2-3 years considering the backlog of other large ships. Plenty of time to make up you mind or work on a CCU chain.
thanks for the advice
Not sure how long it will be around for - but likely at least a week (but that's just my guess based on previous concept sales).
As for which ship to CCU... why not buy a CCU from an intermediary ship (ie something slightly smaller / cheaper than the Galaxy, that's permanently available in the store), and then make your mind up later. You'll lock in the concept discount (at least partially), without spending all the money now.
Failing that, I'd probably CCU the Corsair, because it's too big to use as a starter ship, and the CCU up to the Galaxy will be cheaper.
If in the future you decide you still want the Corsair, then you can buy a separate 100i -> Corsair CCU.
do the prices for concept increase the next time it appears? Or is it when it gets an update like BMM does? If it stays at that price for a while I think I'll just hold on to my current packs
According to you, can you fit a Nova Tank into the Banu Merchantman Platform and therefore storage?
Like a Trojan Horse when you land, haha.
That is very difficult to tell since we don't have any info on the cargo lift. But I wouöd just assume it's at least similiarly sized to the 890 if not bigger. Tho it for sure won't be loading/unloading Tonks fast making the "Trojan horse suprise" less effective if you would actually want to use it like that.
Or you know... have it somehow unsupervised for an extended period of time to unload everything.
Anybody want a $5 off cupon for the C8R? Applicable until 9.01.23. It's 66,16€ instead of 72,11€.
Has anyone figured out the code for the container in the BIS hall?
So i dropped my Invictus jacket by mistake. It shows in my account on the website but it's not in my inventory. Will i get it back if I reset character?
EDIT: whatever happened to the vanduul player ships update?
The Vanduul ships have been overhauled, but CIG are (iirc) not going to release them in the PU until after SQ42 is released.
So for now, we're still stuck with the OG models / versions... complete with most of the OG bugs too.
Getting sick of them saying that for so many things, but thanks for the reply.
It makes sense tho... a game like SQ42 that is so heavily story-based only gets one chance to make the biggest impact... revealing chunks of it in advance (even if just ships that players can get familiar with, etc) lessens that impact, in a way that cannot be recovered.
SO yeah - I can fully understand CIG staying so silent on SQ42, even if *would* like them to update my Scythe to something a little less broken :D
The entire script was leaked and I think most interested people read it.
yup - once, and we don't know that CIG haven't tweaked / changed parts of it since... and whilst some people will have read it, most others won't (either because they weren't aware it was leaked, or because they possessed some self-control and deliberately avoided taking a look at it).
I have an LTI aurora LN package from umpteen years ago that was slowly upgraded to a Carrack
However this was when the carrack was half the size (and nearly half the price) and the new galaxy seems to fit what I wanted more (and yeah I know it will probably get bigger too) however now that the carrack is worth more I can't obtain a CCU to the galaxy, even though melting my carrack will get me less store credit than what the galaxy is worth because I paid far less for it. which is rather frustrating
so I assume my only option is to melt the package and get a new one.
but I also don't want to lose the things in my old package like the name reservation and legacy alpha(i have no idea what this is tbh)
I've had a look at some other posts and noobifiers vids about CCUs but I'm still unsure if there is any other alternative
Don't. The size of the Galaxy, plus the fact that they will have to implement working modularity (something they promised way back in the day and haven't implemented yet) means this ship will not be ingame for years because it takes the better part of a year to make such a ship and run it through all stakeholder teams, and they need to find a schedule for that first.
This means if you buy a Galaxy now - you'll get a Carrack loaner for the next several years.
Melting your super-CCU-chained Carrack for a Carrack loaner isn't worth it. You'll probably get the ship cheaper or at least not any more expensive if you just wait for the Galaxy to release and increase in price, maybe you'll be able to just pick up a 20$ Carrack-to-Galaxy CCU in 3 years or so :)
Or they release a Crusader concept next year ship that makes the Galaxy, Carrack and Odyssey all obsolete :)
You can also do as I did - get a 5$ Valkyrie-to-Galaxy CCU and lean back, wait and see.
yeah tbh im more asking for the future anyway, plenty of opportunity to melt and buy in the future, just seems daft i cant CCU with a ship that for me is actually worth less than the target ship if i exchange it.
ty for response though
When is the latest I can pledge a Pisces and still receive a BiS skin as a separate item in my hangar? I might not be able to get it in until the very end of the BiS day, and I'm wondering if I'll even get the skin at that rate.
And if I pledge the BiS version that comes with the skin packaged, will that restrict me from obtaining the separate skin item?
I believe if you buy the Best In Show version of a ship, the skin is locked to that package. If you melt it, you lose the skin.
If you have a standard version of the ship, it will get added as a separate hangar item/is account-bound.
> And if I pledge the BiS version that comes with the skin packaged, will that restrict me from obtaining the separate skin item?
It shouldn't since the skin is a separate item and they Pisces skins they sold say "paint schemes for the entire C8 line of snub craft" so this should include literally all C8 versions.
Can other people (non-partied bandits) control outer doors on ships?
Connies and 400/600 have lowered elevator platforms- can other people interact with those buttons to raise the elevator back up if they find it elevator down?
Also, if someone hiding in a landing hangar was able to board my ship after I parked it, while they may be able to get to the bridge they cannot request hangar takeoff, correct?
> Can other people (non-partied bandits) control outer doors on ships?
They can shoot and damage them so they open.
> Connies and 400/600 have lowered elevator platforms- can other people interact with those buttons to raise the elevator back up if they find it elevator down?

Correct, unless something changed recently.
Do the stations CRU L1 and those have a hospital? I believe they don't but just wondering. I'm looking to change my respawn place.
AFAIK, every space station should have a clinic, yes.
One day Port Olisar will have one and will be the best spawn point XD
Na, it's the only place left you can get paid rammed or have your ship destroyed before you're even in it. It needs to be deorbitted and replaced.
No need to go that far, I actually like the nitty-gritty and the short, non-elevator ways. But it needs serious defenses. Like EVE Online highsec level of defenses - you shoot at someone, you get squished in half a second. You pad ram someone, your ship cooldown goes up by an hour.
Pad ramming bannable FYI. Just report them if it happens
Oh yeah that too. Well I'm rarely at PO so it's not much of an issue to me.
~~Port Olisar isn't a station, it's a hunk of scrap held together with spit and barbed wire.~~
Fair enough. XD
What is your basic loadout for ground base missions and where can i get ground vehicule to get all bodies from in-game store ?
Depends on how confident you are in your skills, but general "minimum kit" is undersuit, multi-tool, armor core and the largest backpack it can support, max equipped med pens plus how ever many spares you feel comfortable with, and one gun you like and associated ammo. One small step up from that is a leg armor piece and a med gun, with some spare med ammo.
Ground vehicles can be found in the same places as ships, so New Deal in Lorville and Astro Armada in Area 18, though Lorville probably has more of the ground vehicles you might be interested in.
If I want to buy the Apollo Triage, will it still be there in the closing days of the event or do I need to buy now?
Still waiting for a good way to upgrade to this. May have to wait until next time.
Will be available as long as the IAE is going on.
I will wait in that case. Thank you.
So i don't understand how you can find out, if a pledge can be bought back with a buy back token, before you melt it. I have one buy back token.
I have upgraded my original AURORA ES game Package (from 2015 with SC & SQ42) multiple times, but i'm unhappy that my only one and main ship is still stuck with the original Aurora 3 month insurance.
Can i melt the game package and buy it back for the original 30$? After that i would buy a standalone ship from the IAE special with the rest of the store credits.
The general rule is that you *can* buy back a package, unless one of the following 'rules' prevent it:
- the package contains physical items
- the package was a Kickstarter package
- the package was a referral or promotional package
- the package is a hull-limited ship (this one seems inconsistent)
- the package costs more than $1000 (not sure on this one)
As far as I can tell, if you bought the Aurora ES in 2015, then none of the above apply (I don't think CIG ever sold an ES package with physical items), so you should be OK...
But if you're still not certain, you could try contacting Support and asking them, but it'll likely take some weeks to get a response.
Your alternative might be to melt the package, and spend a bit more on getting a Cutter package (which has more utlity than the Aurora ES)... but that will be a more expensive option.
Thank you, buy back works, ~~not for the original price, but still much cheaper than the same package today.~~ tax was included. With store credit and without tax, its the same price from 2015. So everything is fine.
Yes, you should be able to buy that back. Then upgrade to $5 less than the cheapest warbond ship, buy $5 warbond ccu, then get ccu from that to ship you want. That would get you 10 year insurance.
There is a 5$ warbond ccu, which overrides the original insurance? I thought the insurance while upgrading/using ccu's is always the original one.
No - there are some Warbond CCUs that bring improved insurance as well as the new ship... and when the CCU is applied, the package will use the 'best' of the two insurances (so if you apply a CCU with 120month insurance to a package with LTI, you'll still keep LTI... but if you apply it to a starter package with 3 month insurance, you end up with 120 month insurance).
But, not every Warbond CCU comes with insurance, so you have to check the CCU Contents to make sure.
Ah, thank you!
Anyone have a link (or even the name of the site) to the graphical funding chart that pops up every now and then? The one with the coloured bar charts that allows you to filter by month. I swear I saved a link to it a few months back by cannot find it out. Nor through a search.
Please and thank you in advance.
