cuntsmen

Amateurs. My clubs average age on FM is 19

hiredgooner

The only way to play. Anyone over the age of 21 is washed.

veddi96

I like how CA Bizerte has -0.1% amount of 30-plus year olds

TeraVonen

We have a transfer ban than hasn't been lifted since summer of 2021, so we can't recruit people (including 30+ years olds) and we have only been promoting the kids pretty much

CharlesOlivesGOAT

Fr like tf that mean lol, is he missing an arm or something

MONI_85

Bodes well for Valencia if they can get it together.

Scalenuts

A lot of them on loan

T1TK1

A fair amount of them are young loan players though

xcore21z

>Valencia if they can get it together. Well that's the problem

Dark-X

Sometimes maybe good, sometimes maybe young.

hyperactiv3hedgehog

also villareal have some good young players Edit - I forgot estupian moved to brighton

TJJS1109

wow the financial crisis really impacted Guangzhou FC

TheConundrum98

they're currently 16th (in the relegation places) in the CPL. You still have a lot of foreign players in the league, but not at Guangzhou

MERTENS_GOAT

but most of them are unknown brazilians or africans Only very few clubs still buy players from Europa who are actually known, the other popular players who are in CSL are still there from the buying tour many years ago like Oscar

TJJS1109

did a check on transfermarkt, and yep it’s all nobodies who played in the Finnish first division or the German third division or idk what division before joining CSL at least there is 4 Hongkongers in the CSL so

WinsingtonIII

I don't think Loudoun United should be included here if the goal is to exclude youth and B teams. Loudoun are the reserve team for MLS team DC United, they aren't a completely independent club.

balmengor

Same for Las vegas lights, they're our(LAFC) B team

Ozzel1138

boooooooo

RevoltOfTheBeavers

That's fair, but also keep in mind at least six Loudon players have gotten minutes with us this year and several are regular starters on DC United. They've been getting hammered in USL because we've been gutting their roster for our regular side.

Delta_FT

New York and Salzburg are C and B teams for Leipzig and are also on the list lol edit: /s obviously lol

WinsingtonIII

Not in the same way. In a meme sense, sure, but they are not official affiliate clubs. Leipzig does pay transfer fees to RBNY and Salzburg for their players, even if those fees are maybe lower than they should be.

Delta_FT

Yeah ik, it's joke but I didn't think i needed the /s lol

WinsingtonIII

Sorry, I figured it was a joke but you never know on here.

Quidster4040

And Leipzig is the B team for Munich /ducks

Delta_FT

They are the C team after Dortmund lol

Quidster4040

💀💀💀

DeLorean-88mph

Salzburg aka the Leipzig U21s

patman0000

still stronger

onthelongrun

New York on that list as well

FabijanJohansson

Interesting to see that Valencia is the only one from that table who is in the top 5 leagues. Hopefully they can win a trophy this season

Ifriiti

Stuttgart, Southampton, Arsenal, Lecce, Reims and Monaco are all below 25 in the top 5 leagues so don't miss the cut off by much

onthelongrun

might be another team there if not for Bordeaux's relegation at the end of last season

Lolkac

I am surprised Zilina is not there. In slovakia there is MSK Zilina, the owner refuses to invest money into the club, he canceled contract with everyone during covid and now only plays kids. https://www.transfermarkt.com/msk-zilina/startseite/verein/1443 Average age of 20 years. Oldest player is 25yo

MERTENS_GOAT

slovakian league isnt in the system

freezysw

They seem to be doing good though

Lolkac

well its slovakian league, its overall not that good.

klarstartpirat

Fc Nordsjælland is a wonderful team. With a brilliant concept. They play attacking football and are so committed to developing youth players theyd rather be relegated than change concept. They are the team for youth development in Europe. They are also the only team in common goal , and force their players to be social activ in charity and what not. Sad they have about 0 fans besides some few insanely dedicated fans.

Kris_Third_Account

> theyd rather be relegated than change concept That's plain wrong. While FCN will go far to stick with the concept, we saw in January this year (where Andreas Hansen, Erik Marxen, Mads Hansen and Benjamin Nygren were signed; while Mads Bidstrup and Rocco Ascone were loaned in) that compromise is an option if relegation becomes too much of a threat.

apustus

And if youth development is the point, then that's really the only sensible option. Playing in the top league with a couple experienced players in the squad is much better for the development of young players than playing in a much worse division.

GodSaveTheRegime

this sounds exactly like Salzburg except Salzburg even plays Champions League every season so I'd say they're even a better option for young players

A_Vasasos

They are literally just a tool for Man city to bring African kids to Europe. What a wonderful team....

klarstartpirat

How many players have transfered from fcn to city?

InTheMiddleGiroud

I don't think that's true. They're a tool for Right To Dream to push their talents onto Europe. There are claims that City gets the cream of the crop directly from Ghana, which I can't verify one way or another, but FC Nordsjælland and Man City have no partnership. Also, this year they've actually mainly performed through Nordic talent only starting about 3 Right To Dream players. Edit: Maybe I'm wrong > FC Nordsjælland commits itself to give players from Right to Dream to Man City for free. Does City wish to transfer a player, FC Nordsjælland must "do their best" to effectuate the move > FC Nordsjælland can't sell a player without written permission from Man City > Man City must receive 25% of the sum, if FCN sells one of the African players to a third club. This deal initially running until April 2020. Genuinely knew nothing about that. Man City certainly gets around. https://www.tipsbladet.dk/nyhed/superliga/fcn-lavede-hemmelig-aftale-med-man-city-kan-hente-spillere-gratis

layendecker

> but FC Nordsjælland and Man City have no partnership. > > Maybe not officially, anymore. But Tom Vernon admitted himself there has been an agreement in place in the past.

InTheMiddleGiroud

You're right. I didn't research it thoroughly enough. But I'll stick to Nordsjælland also being good through their Nordic development as well

timdeking

I'm pretty sure our average age is 23. Is this list complete?

notafeetlongcucumber

The list seems very incorrect. Maybe they have some criteria I don't understand but there are teams below 22 age. Just look at FK Metta. Their oldest player this season is 23(!) and only had two players above 22 last season (27 and 24).

Lolkac

i think its because they also count last season.

Robertflatt

Think this counts minutes on the field, so a stable 30 something goal keeper for example will drag it up significantly.

BertEnErnie123

If they included KKD the list would be like 50% dutch lol. But I guess they chose to not included 2nd league teams because of this reason.

ZlatanPower

They did, look at Bordeaux or Mirandes

JeebaRock

Where is Santos U13?

CharlesOlivesGOAT

🤣

faelanswitzer

Where is Arsenal

DontYouWantMeBebe

I don't like my age being categorised as yellow

PoopyFruit

Southampton should be in there, they have an average age of 23.7.

DaHomie_ClaimerOfAss

Off topic but since when does the sub have a logo?

Hoyatas

Arsenal has 23.6, why is it not on the list? https://www.transfermarkt.us/premier-league/altersschnitt/wettbewerb/GB1

apustus

This list is by percentage of minutes played. If it was by average squad age a lot of these numbers would be much lower, Nordsjaelland for instance would be 21.5 instead of 22.3.

CR7futbol

FC Nordsjaelland 🤝 Right to Dream Academy ([link](https://www.forbes.com/sites/robertkidd/2021/03/29/inside-right-to-dream-the-unique-organisation-transforming-lives-that-could-change-the-future-of-soccer/?sh=1991a6da4069))

CJaber

Only time i’ll ever see my club on here, lmao

The_Great_Crocodile

Nordsjaelland is currently leading the Danish League !

Eckes24

VfB Stuttgart should be second on the list with an average of 22.68

Globulart

I read Loudoun as London and thought they were using Pro Evo team names for a moment

Perspii7

It’d be interesting to see the opposite too

Quidster4040

Loudoun United is literally DC United’s reserve team, a little unfair to include them.

vidimevid

My hometown club is on reddit. So weird lol NAPRIJED ISTRA!

notafeetlongcucumber

I'd say this is an incorrect title. These aren't the youngest teams in the world, these are the youngest teams in the 60 leagues they analysed. ([source](https://football-observatory.com/IMG/sites/b5wp/2022/wp390/en/)) I can't understand why they picked those leagues exactly, probably the top 60 ranked leagues. The youngest team that I know of is [FK Metta](https://www.transfermarkt.com/fk-metta/startseite/verein/28770?saison_id=2020). For the past three seasons (based on Transfermarkt), their average age has been below 20. Currently, Metta has only one player older than 21, who himself is only 23 years old. A 27-year-old did start the season with them but left recently. In 2020, Metta had no players older than 22.

ToastedTaco

Arsenal fans silent on this one…

steezliktheez

Because it's either incomplete or wrong. Took two seconds to google. [Transfer Market](https://www.transfermarkt.us/premier-league/altersschnitt/wettbewerb/GB1)

apustus

Or you could take another look at the statistic and see that it says **% of minutes** **played**, not average age of every player in the squad. For Arsenal this number is 24.43

steezliktheez

Or **you** could read what the title of the post is, guy.

apustus

So the infographic that very clearly states it's by percentage of minutes played is either wrong or incomplete because the OP on reddit only stated 'youngest average age'?

[deleted]

[удалено]

UpvoteForGlory

It is sorted by age.

Roscoes--Wetsuit

It's sorted by the leftmost column, average age

jjw1998

That’s crazy I thought Arsenal were supposed to be the youngest team in the world

Heblas

We're at 24.43, 4th (of course) youngest in the top 5 European leagues.

durpseb

Bedeeki

I've noticed United fans on here seem to have crazy a obsession with r/Gunners, kind of weird

TeraVonen

Opened this thread expecting to find my team, not disappointed

juragan_12

How CA Bizerte recorded a negative % in 30s?

Ryantohjunheng

young lions

Better_Photograph_75

Feeder clubs the lot of them. Sad to see

mofoofinvention

Of course there’s no Italian teams on the list

deathtotheemperor

Bordeaux will be a fun FM save this year.

jofstra

Fm23 bordeaux here we geaux

xbhaskarx

What’s the source on this, does anyone have a link for those who want to look at other clubs?

TheConundrum98

[Here](https://football-observatory.com/)

xbhaskarx

Thanks

PM_ME_SOME_LUV

Loudon United is a reserve squad primarily featuring DC United academy players

wurstbrot182

Disappointed not finding Young Boys Bern there

ajof25

So random to see a team from my country (Venezuela) be included in a list like this

Kajocfc

Las Vegas Lights is such obvious name for that team.

Marbi_

time to raid these teams in fm23 :D

ToastedTaco

Arsenal fans silent on this one…

The_Vulgar_Bulgar

Fascinating! I figured the youth teams would have the youngest age, but there you go

Vesaevus

Youth teams and B teams not included (for obvious reasons)

WinsingtonIII

Not sure that Loudoun United should be included in this case. They are a reserve team for the MLS team DC United.

Vesaevus

If that’s the case then indeed they shouldn’t. They specifically state that this doesn’t include B-teams. > Issue number 390 of the CIES Football Observatory Weekly Post ranks clubs from 60 leagues worldwide (not including B-teams) according to the average age of line-ups fielded during the current or last completed season. It might make sense to report that mistake to them.
