Multiammar

The things Xavi has done to this team are beautiful

mntgoat

Why is this offside but García on the Mbappe on the final wasn't?

LegAdministrative238

Because this is well and clearly offside and refs makes mistakes?

mntgoat

Both had VAR. With Mbappe they claimed García played the ball which made it not offside. Here the keeper clearly plays the ball as well. To be clear, I'm not against this being offside, I'm against the final one being allowed.

Scalenuts

The keeper saving the ball doesn't nullify offside, happens on shots saved that fall to players in offside position as well.

gnorrn

There is a specific exception in the laws for a "save". A save, even if a deliberate play of the ball by a defensive player, does not reset offside. > A ‘save’ is when a player stops, or attempts to stop, a ball which is going into or very close to the goal with any part of the body except the hands/arms (unless the goalkeeper within the penalty area).

mntgoat

Interesting, didn't know that. Thanks.

5th_Deathsquad

The other goal should also been na offside. Was just a terrible ref

mntgoat

I'm still bitter about that goal and I'm not even from Spain.

Kenshi121

Watch it again it was onside.

jojotwello

Clarifications have been made for this season to ensure that those types of goals are offside. Mbappe's goal was a goal under last seasons laws, and this season it's not

zarmord2

It really wasn't btw, the ref just didn't apply some of the bullets points in the offsides rules. Could still be true that they are focusing on those rules now.

genericusername8406

Kessie is just happy to be there
