Lampard out

Reddit040

I think Forest need to sign one more high quality central defender.

Coolica1

Maybe or loan one in as we have 1 very promising centre-back out on loan and hopefully another one will be going the same way as well soon.

CabbageStockExchange

Onana is built like a brick shithouse. Holy hell

dogefc

Thought Forest were very poor today. If we had a decent striker we would’ve exploited their defence. Lampard got it all wrong again though, 523 just doesn’t work with our players.

Eatingolivesoutofjar

Lampard got it wrong twice lol. Starting lineup didn't work (but slightly better than last week with a focal point) then killed the momentum in the second half by going striker-less. Pickford's miracle pass and Gray's touch saved him.

dogefc

Was baffling and very naive

jumpery

That is not a good sign since he bought defenders to switch to a back 3/5

dogefc

I know. He spent all pre season saying he wanted to play 433 but didn’t have the midfielders, so he was waited weeks to sign one and then signed a CB who can only play in a back 3. Baffling

Borllin

I think if Rondon was on the bench it would've been fine but he's too static

dogefc

Rondon upfront is better than McNeil up front

Okeidokeiyo

If only Everton has a striker.

WinExternal6606

So disappointed. Wouldn't have minded a draw away from home but that goal that was conceded was too sloppy

Effective_Leg6618

Everton can finish in European places if they play the whole 90 minutes like they do the last 15 minutes.

sotobakar

Win more games by playing better football. Noted

t3hjc

Lol no they can't.

Giraffe_Baker

It’s clearly a jokey comment.

PlzRetireMartinTyler

Thought Lingard looks pretty anonymous all game. Is he better playing wide? The CDM for Everton is so clumsy but looks strong as fuck.

RunningJokes

Lingard looks a little restricted to me. I think Forest need to find a way to let him operate in more space.

sotobakar

Your entire team is not good tbh. Best bet to stay up is playing a low block + scoring from set pieces and counter. Don't be Norwich

RunningJokes

I think we need some time with the new additions before making that determination. MGW and Kouyate only played at the end today and we still haven't seen Dennis or Freuler. I do think the defense right now looks exploitable, but I'd say we've got another month before we really can make a fair assessment of this team after all the turnover.

Faust_Arp

Onana? He isn’t supposed to be a cdm. I believe the plan is to eventually utilize him as a more box to box fella.

dogefc

Lingard was terrible

National_Ad_1875

Onana? The one that was subbed on? Weve just signed him and hes only just turned 21, Lampard has said he wants to ease him in slowly

PlzRetireMartinTyler

Yeah Onana!

justmadman

What’s his name?

Isaura-62

Onana!

[deleted]

Dean Henderson. Oh how much I love this bloke

hollow114

Imagine degea is gone next year. Surprising Henderson just closed the door on coming back like he did.

PornFilterRefugee

Not really when he’s been repeatedly disrespected by the club

hollow114

He got covid and then refused to even talk to Erik when he came in. Was late to training. Disrespect.

ashu54

>Was late to training. I swear the lengths some united fans go to is insane. Never happened.

hollow114

Except what it was reported as such. Actually it was worse. He disrespected the gaffer. Because he's entitled. https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/united-henderson-training-storms-rangnick-25944178

ashu54

Spectacular source there.

hollow114

Ah the lalala in my ears style of ignoring information. It's my favorite.

ashu54

I mean if you're going to cite the mirror, the only one looking like an idiot is you lol.

hollow114

https://strettynews.com/2022/01/14/manchester-united-goalkeeper-storms-out-of-training-report/

ashu54

Even more spectacular.

hollow114

How about the words out of Dean's own mouth of him being an entitled cunt. Or do we only trust news from places that tell us what we want to hear.

nopainauchocolat

my personal opinion is that he came off as a complete knob in that interview as well. he’s a class goalkeeper but he’d cause problems in united’s dressing room

rodenttt

> Surprising Henderson just closed the door on coming back like he did. How did he close the door?

A_StarshipTrooper

Called ManU liars

Scary_Resolve7111

Said he doesn’t want to comeback

Acceptable-Lemon-748

I haven't even remotely seen him say that. He said he tried to engineer the loan move ASAP so he couldn't be roped into playing second fiddle to De Gea again this season, is that what you've interpreted as him never wanting to play for United again?

RicciRox

Never said that.

GameplayerStu

He wanted to leave without even speaking to ten Hag then did an interview talking about how United broke promises to him about starting time. I doubt he'll want to stay after returning from his loan.

rodenttt

Yea, he was desperate to get guaranteed game time. He never said he was never going back.

hollow114

Yeah but disrespecting the new manager and then whining that he didn't unseat degea like you're owed a starting position doesn't get you invited back.

rodenttt

He didn't respec the new manager? And he was annoyed that he was promised the number one spot and it never happened. It was all perfectly reasonable.

ImNotMexican08

Especially when he wasn’t really dropped for performance related reasons. He got Covid. And then he was never given another chance despite the team performing poorly and was not allowed to go on loan to get playing time. From a young keeper’s perspective, his frustration is understandable

hollow114

Oh so we live in the handouts game. Hopefully he can get his hand held and boots licked elsewhere. Yes he didn't show ETH respect, and it's no one's fault that Ragnick didn't rate him but himself.

Acceptable-Lemon-748

He got 1 game the entire season, a great he didnt look fully recovered from illness for given just how exhausted he looked after the game, and didnt get a single minute the entire rest of the season in any competition..but sure it's a "how many games are they supposed to gift him so he can prove himself?!" situation lmao

hollow114

So we give handouts here? That's what training is for. Dude got covid. Didn't take the L. Decided to bitch.

rodenttt

What the fuck are you on about?

RicciRox

Some United fans have a hate boner for Henderson. They also all claim he was the source of leaks, with absolutely zero evidence. It's hilarious.

hollow114

Ole promised him game time. That doesn't mean shit of you don't proform. Ragnick came in and didn't rate him. You do not go and whine about that without even talking to the new manager. We call that entitlement. And he's shown it his whole career.

Na2O3

Call in Big Sam before it's too late

Enzyme17

Impressive hustle from Mangala and O'Brien all game but may have been made to look better by Everton's midfield. Everton with their wingers definitely tested the back 3 but to come out with a point is pretty good.

ColtButtersRidesAgin

So that was Nottingham's manager who looks like Napoleon Dynamite?

olliiris

He looks nothing like Napoleon Dynamite. Nothing at all.

skuppo

He’s more Spud from Trainspotting for me.

Perihelion_

Head of your academy for a while and coached players like Sterling and TAA.

avolcando

More like Schneebly from School of Rock

Joekickass549

Good shout I couldn't figure out who he reminded me of, but you nailed it

Tiki_taka27

Everton are in the game only last 15 mins Not sure if that’s their tactics

Dgryan87

Everton were the better side until Rondon came off around 60. They were the better side for the last 10 or so minutes. That’s 70 minutes of being the better side.

khronokhris2222

You were terrible first half with the wind blowing against you and trying to do long balls, second half you had the wind advantage and most definitely used it better with the long ball but I don’t think you can say you played better for 70 minutes

Dgryan87

No one who says we were terrible in the first half actually watched the game. I stopped reading your comment after that first sentence

khronokhris2222

I find it absolutely hilarious how bad Everton is yet you just said they were the better team for 70 minutes

Dgryan87

Everton is not a very good team right now.. but they played pretty well today for most of the match.. I don’t know why that’s so hard for your dumb ass to grasp

khronokhris2222

If you think that performance is “pretty well” against a side who just got promoted and signed 16 new players in their bid to stay up. Idk man I might not be the dumb ass. Don’t bother me keep performing like this all season I imagine every other club would appreciate it as well. I do wonder how the game would have been if the wind wasn’t a huge factor.

Dgryan87

They were the better team for most of the match and created chances. To me, that’s playing pretty well. Don’t know what else to say at this point.

khronokhris2222

Didn’t watch the game? Bro you had 84% possession in the first 15 minutes and 134 passes to Forrest 36. Then finished the first half with 47% possession to Forrest 53% why? Because the wind was blowing against you in the first half and it was noticeable Couldn’t handle Forrest at home shows how bad Everton is. Literally a whole new squad of players was bought and almost beat Everton at Goodison lmao

[deleted]

What fucking game did you watch as I thought we were shit for 87mins.

khronokhris2222

Your first 15 was amazing, but like I said the wind was a huge factor in today. It completely neutralized pickfords long ball only when you switched sides in the second half was it actually a serious threat (aka the goal) But hey I didn’t watch the game because I gave a neutral opinion. And trust me I’ve watched dross football I had Steve Bruce as a manager for a few years.

CitrusRabborts

Was the same against Villa, and has been a problem we've had for years, we only give a shit when we go a goal down

Tiki_taka27

Even against Chelsea last 15 mins they were much better

5tranger7hings

shocking goal to concede but would have taken a point before the game ref was shite

WinExternal6606

Would have taken a point too but goddamn that goal stings, so so sloppy

FL8_JT26

Everton are sealing their fate by keeping Gordon. His 2 goals and 3 assists this season won't keep them up, £40 million reinvested in a striker might.

MaraudngBChestedRojo

I thought he was their liveliest player, presented the most danger in the opponents third

FL8_JT26

I wouldn't disagree with that, their forwards are shocking and Gordon at least gives his all the whole time and has the pace to cause problems. I just don't think he'll develop his end product quickly enough for it to save them this season. If they could keep him while investing £50 mil on their frontline that would be ideal but I don't think it's possible given their financial situation.

_coed_

it doesnt matter how much hypothetical danger he poses if he has no end product

[deleted]

[удалено]

_coed_

if he actually had that it would be. he had 2 goals 4 assists in 35 games last season. nothing so far this season

[deleted]

[удалено]

Avancx

See this is what i've been saying. Nothing about Gordon makes teams worried. He doesn't really do anything with the ball. Gray, yes he's wasteful but he scores some really good and important goals. Gordon is just not that player and his running and defensive work isn't worth the £40m to us that Chelsea apparently offered.

TregaleZ

Gray

Ok-Finance-7612

Yep, I don’t get the discrimination he’s getting

kingmakyeda

Everton are going down. That starting line up today is championship standard

HomieApathy

Everton, West Ham & Leicester to go down /s

Dgryan87

Laughably stupid take

t3hjc

The only XI worse than Everton is Bournemouth, maybe Fulham but they have a legitimate goal scorer.

deliverancew2

You scraped survival last season then sold your best player.

Dgryan87

Seeing a lineup that includes Pickford, Coady, Tarkowski, Iwobi, Gordon, and Mykolenko and concluding that it is “championship standard” is dumb as shit.

_coed_

why would you include a guy that literally got relegated last year in that list lol

kingmakyeda

You barely stayed up last season and you sold your best player in the summer. Whether you like it or not, you’re going down

Dgryan87

Ah yes, I’d forgotten that u/kingmakyeda is world-renowned in the art of predicting the future. You’re a dipshit making dipshit arguments. Forest is a newly promoted side and is about 5x better now than they were last year. Still, they were quite clearly outplayed today. How exactly does that suggest to you that today’s Everton lineup is Championship standard? Is it the fact that it included multiple players with senior England caps? Absolute moron

National_Ad_1875

Well we are after a new striker, defensive midfielder and possibly another forward player as well

Nikodiai

Worrall was shocking

randfyld

Fair result imo. Forest is doing pretty well so far if you consider that half of their transfers are not even playing yet. I think they are a decent mid table team and will finish around 12-14th

Qwerty6391063

Lampard and Everton never thought for once maybe they should try to keep possession and move the ball for 5 minutes, instead they played into Forrest's hand by playing a game of basketball and hoofballs

Jinxedchef

One of these 2 teams is going to end the season in a relegation battle. Want to take a guess which one?

MiguelAlmiron

Both

CaptainGo

I think Villas pretty close to spiralling as well

onthelongrun

would love to see Liverpool respond with an 0-6 at Old Trafford

StatisticianOwn9953

Forest are staying up imo, maybe even around mid table.

Giraffe_Baker

The leagues fucking woeful if they’re going to be mid table.

shinniesta1

They've overhauled their squad, and the recruitment looks decent. Good manager too, given some time for the new signings to bed in properly they could be a lot better.

lssie_hyoudou

Forest's starting mids are better than united's minus casemiro

MiguelAlmiron

LOL

t3hjc

Freuler, Mangala, O'Brien, Yates are better than Fred and McTominay.

MiguelAlmiron

Then Newcastle's midfield is 10x better than the Mancs? Seems very unlikely. Its more like the atmosphere and toxicity of the club makes the players play way to a standard way worse than their actual ability. Bruno Fernandes is 10x better than any of those players you just listed.

zakuruchi

Bruno 2 years ago? Yeah he is better. This season (and last half) he doesn't look anywhere near it.

lssie_hyoudou

Feruler is better than anyone at united

PalazOfHoon

Farhad Striker Striker now

Scott_EFC

If we don't buy a striker with 15+ goals in him we are fucked.

QTsexkitten

I'd settle for 6g5a right now. Or even just the 6g.

JakeNutters

You're gunna be disappointed if you expect a 15+ goal striker, only 8 players last season scored 15 goals or more, 5 of them played for Liverpool or Spurs and only Vardy was outside the top 6.

ClausTheDrunkard

I get the sentiment, but how many players outside the top 6 consistently hit 15+ goals

BaoJinyang

Yeah. Everton’s only focus this season should be not getting relegated in which case they need someone who will get them 8-10 league goals while contributing defensively. Maupay would be perfect for them.

ClausTheDrunkard

I mean go for the best possible player, but realistically if it was easy to buy a 15+ goal striker every club would have several

ghostmech007

Why buy someone to score goals when you have a goalie like Pickford? -Everton Front Office

Alive-Ad-4164

Everton looks woeful

grampstheman

not really tho, just toothless in the box

Anik1415

Not really surprising. They don't have anyone with decent end product.

Sarmerbinlar

Take a point away from home before the game but cannot be giving up three points that easily, woeful defending on the goal. Still lots of work to be done and God knows what our shape was after the subs. Not a quality game at all but fairly watchable in the end

Gytarius626

I thought yous looked half decent going forward, if anything that was an ominous game for Everton. Home against a newly promoted side this early into the season and playing like that

ashu54

Forest will genuinely shock teams like sheffield united did. Their transition play is very good for a side full of new signings. When they get used to each other, the pace up top with two strikers is going to be nice to see.

Sarmerbinlar

Yeah we certainly look like we've got goals in us but I'm very concerned when the ball goes anywhere near the defence. Missed Niakhaté today I think

RunningJokes

I'm thinking it might be time to get a look at Biancone.

LTweet

Let it be known that MGW looked really good today and I honestly think he’ll be worth the money

SlashmanX

He was absolutely electric when he came on, I've not watched all of his games but even so I don't think I've ever seen him play that way before

PoliceAlarm

The way he fought for the ball that far up the field was mesmerising. And keeping it too. This could be something lovely brewing.

lukew88

We snatched the ball back loads of times today. So good to watch, Everton had to think fast when they won the ball.

BoxOfNothing

First goal scored by an Everton player and first point. That's something. We're off the mark boys

vinnie16

anthony gordon was so underwhelming lord

dogefc

What more was he supposed to do.

vinnie16

complete dribbles, take chances that was literally gifted to you lmao, create attacking opp ? idk maybe things that num 10 does ?

PhantomRenegade

He's.. not a 10, he just wears that #

dogefc

What clear cut chances did he have today? He only had half chances that he literally had to create himself

futty_monster

The 1v1 vs Henderson comes to mind...

dogefc

That wasn’t easy at all. Henderson did very very well there.

futty_monster

And Gordon did very poorly. He easily could have turned around the keeper or chipped it early instead of waiting until henderson was half a step away.

NovemberBurnsMaroon

Solid point which should show people we can compete. Shame to get pegged back, oh well.

GameplayerStu

Any points are good points but getting a point against this current Everton team isn't "showing people you can compete". I say this as someone who hopes Forest become a mainstay in the PL now.

NovemberBurnsMaroon

A point away from home in the PL is never easy.

GameplayerStu

Like I said, any point is a good point when the main goal for the season is staying up. Just wouldn't rate Everton that highly to say that they're a milestone to show you can compete.

Vallado

Hard luck to concede, but I reckon you lot will stay up easily. Maybe you’ll take Everton’s spot in the PL.

inspired_corn

I’m sorry but if we pay £50m for Gordon then questions need to be asked. That’s a ridiculous price for the player he currently is

CC-W

People were saying we are asking for a fuck off price of £40m for Jack Harrison but it looks reasonable with Gibbs-White going for more and you offering £45m for Gordon

_coed_

ive seen nothing from gordon in the 20~ add games ive watched him that tells me hes worth more than Gelhardt, and I think we could probably sell Joe for like 15 right now

CC-W

nah not a chance we would take 15m for Joffy if Chelsea want 30m for Broja

FL8_JT26

Not even joking if we were paying purely for the player he is today he'd be worth about £2 million. With his potential and nationality *maybe* you could justify him being £15 million. £40mil+ is approaching Drinkwater levels of stupidity.

inspired_corn

I’d happily pay £20m for him and judging by his nationality and importance to Everton I could understand £30m *all in*. £50m is insanity

Switchnaz

nonsense.

[deleted]

[удалено]

FL8_JT26

Yeah caught up in the moment a little haha but I don't think it should be too much higher than that. Keep in mind I'm saying that'd be the price if there was a guarantee he'd never improve. Demarai Gray was a promising looking player with lacklustre end product and he went for £3.7 mil to Leicester and then £1.7 mil to Everton. Not sure what his contract situation was like for those deals (think the first one might've been a release clause) but I had him in mind when I wrote it.

Smifson

Demarai Gray was like £2m

feddi7

We paid less for Abraham 😂. Might be ignorance in my behalf, but it feels like you’d be getting rinsed by Everton.

[deleted]

The premier league has insane money. Wolves just bought sporting's best player for the same amount they got for selling a random player

TheGoldenPineapples

I think rinsed is putting it lightly.

inspired_corn

Nah you’re correct. We would be getting absolutely rinsed. We’re fools if we pay that

Vallado

Can’t finish to save his life

HelloMyNameIsGeoff

Perfect for us then

jerrie86

Think Lampard won't last long this season if he keeps losing our drawing

StrawberryJam_

Thanks Owen

[deleted]

Stupid equaliser. I don't actually want Everton to go down, but I want their fans to sweat.

DorothyJMan

Happy with that, shame we conceded a lead late but a point away at Goodison is always good, regardless of Everton's recent form. Henderson is class, genuinely worth a goal a game every game. Shout out as well to Lewis O'Brien who seems brilliant, and Yates and Gibbs-White for their lively cameos. Congrats to Brenno for his first PL goal of many too! Defence looked suspect with Niakhate out, there's a reason we didn't want Cook starting too often in the prem. Worrall had a couple of dodgy decisions, especially that awful back-header at the end, but think he'll come good with a bit of experience.

ashu54

>Henderson is class, genuinely worth a goal a game every game. 🙂🥲

GunstarGreen

The defence did panic near the end. Same as West Ham where we lacked composure. I like the effort but we can't keep making life difficult like this. The team at least looks competitive, I was nervous after the Newcastle game. We were very poor that day.

dfla01

How did Williams play?

RunningJokes

While not as flashy as last week, he looked strong and should be a main part of our success this season. I would prefer if he toned down the amount of shots he was taking himself, but that could just be me.

Sarmerbinlar

I feel like it's an extremely unpopular opinion with Forest fans but Worrall is going to get found out badly this year. Love him for his leadership but he flirted the line all game defensively

shinniesta1

How was McKenna in comparison?

Sarmerbinlar

McKenna is adapting to the Prem a bit better. He's still fantastic in the air and he also likes to get involved in our attacking movements. Was a bit unlucky in the penalty incident last week but I think there's potential for him to become a solid Prem player. Hell, he was voted our player of the year last year despite banner seasons from Johnson, Spence and Garner

shinniesta1

Love to hear it!

JAYZ303

Yeah, he's really struggling in the prem so far.

ItWasJustBanter1

Mate he’s miles off being prem quality. It is what it is, just not good enough.

shinniesta1

How was McKenna in comparison?

ItWasJustBanter1

McKenna can make the step up definitely, he should be starting for Scotland.

shinniesta1

He does fairly often, just Tierney plays in his LCB in a back 3 position.

futty_monster

Really annoyed Mariner didnt have the balls to show him the yellow within 5 minutes. Think you were quite lucky to have him on the field but of course he probably doesnt make that second challenge is he was booked for the first.

Sarmerbinlar

Think Marriner was letting quite a lot go today which I guess isn't a bad thing. Thought Onana was lucky to be on the pitch after a couple of poor fouls whilst on a yellow but I guess they've been told to keep the game flowing more. Think we'll see a fair amount of stuff like that this season

Kstoffeefan

Yeah, Worrall had two yellow card worthy fouls in the first 25 minutes, and looked shaky against Everton’s woeful attack.

DorothyJMan

You could be right for sure. I'd give him a few more games to get up to speed, but Biancone is waiting in the wings...

ghostmech007

A good match overall but that late goal by Gray was all on Pickford. What a fucking pass.

fallenefc

Henderson was very good, none of his saves were flashy but his positioning is amazing, also two major saves to deny Gordon and at the corner (or fk?)

malikdwd

We need a fucking striker.

QTsexkitten

I'd settle for a broomstick stuck through a traffic cone with a kit glued onto it.

olliiris

That's your manager
