dr_analyst

Why doesn't Mbappe just becomes the youngest player-manager? Probably he can also become Qatar national coach.

RicciRox

Paris Saint-Mbappe.

ysupr

Paris Sign-Mbappe

Pimpekusz

Mbappe Mbappe-Mbappe.

tobi1k

Why does Mbappe, the biggest star, simply not eat the other star players?

TheChosenHodor

Perhaps he's saving that for after the Champions League.

quikfrozt

I bet Mbappe has got a spokesperson gig lined up with Qatar for his entire career - and after. A damn lucrative one. Even an honorary citizen deal too.

PrisonersofFate

You're joking but Qatar manager is great, has been building the team since Aspire Academy and got results.

FreedomByFire

he wasn't the coach then. Jamal Belmadi was the coach of qatar before leaving to join Algeria.

EL_MANDEM

Not enough gaffers called Jamal imo.

PrisonersofFate

I was talking about Felix Sanchez. Am i wrong in what I'm saying about him? He has actually been building the team since Aspire? Asking, because you might know better

HH_31_J

Imagine Pep at PSG with unlimited money. He would win the league...

refresher1121

Gave me a good laugh.

sebastian-RD

A chuckle

and1984

I, for one, shot milk out of my nose >!Plot twist: I've not had milk in over a decade!<.

PoliticalScienceDoge

It is much harder than winning the CL anyway

Rabidfire04

The league is more important after all...

EmptyReply5

Lille and Monace are in shambles when they read this.

Lord_Sauron

Tactical genius Pep strikes again!

baubeauftragter

Compared to the very basic money supply he has to make do with now. Imagine him being unleashed like that.

soboi12345

😂

surbell

Probably because there is no one available and Zidane won't come

AbdulAziz9715

Really grateful to Zidane for this. Can't imagine him going to that horrible environment. However, I won't mind Roy Keane in that locker for a couple hours.

pmmerandom

Gary Neville did really well at Valencia that one time, they should give him a crack

Thanatos652

How did he even get that job in the first place? It was his first training job as well right?

OmastarLovesDonuts

He’s friends with Peter Lim, the shitty owner

Its_MichaelB

For Zidane is not much about environment as it is about Marseille. If he was to be appointed, Marseille fans would… I leave it to your imagination

AbdulAziz9715

I know he's from Marseille region, however he hasn't played for them either.

Moug-10

He has always claimed he's a OM fan. He regrets to have never played for us. He remains a beloved player in Marseille, especially after the WC in 1998. I was too young but even in my generation, we all love him. He's still a guy from la Castellane, a neighbourhood of Marseille.

Its_MichaelB

It doesn’t matter. It’s as if you ask Pep to coach Madrid. Catalonians wouldn’t appreciate that. Even though the rivalry in Spain is not as bad as France. In France it’s much worse.

Deluxe07

It’s not the same because Pep is a Barca legend. Zidane, as the other guy already told you, never even played for Marseille.

germanefficiency

Yeah idk what this guy is on about lmao. Pep coached Barca, Zidane didn't coach Marseille. Zidane going to PSG is nothing like Pep going to Madrid.

limesaway

Not only coached, but he was also a Barca academy player since 13, rose through the ranks and went on to play 10 years for the first team. His ties to Barcelona are much greater than Zidane's to Marseille.

Its_MichaelB

Thats why I said Catalonians won’t be happy. Not Barca fans. Its not just about football its also political and cultural and what people in each region think of each other. The same differences are between Marseillais and Parisians. The only difference is that Marseille is not looking for independency yet

xosellc

ok fair enough, but your original comment was a little confusing.

jaycosta17

With Pep it's about him supporting the independence movement, not just because he's from there lol. Whole different context than PSG and Marseille being rivals

Its_MichaelB

And why do you think Marseillais and Parisians can’t stand each other? The rivalry between the two city wasnt started because of football. The root of the this rivalry was political differences as well.

elnander

Smart, supporting the independence league to form La Lliga Catalana so Barcelona can win 100 successive titles against Catalan farmers.

fartparts

Dont sleep on Girona

AnnieIWillKnow

It's weird to be grateful for something you don't actually know for sure has or will happen. People are speculating - but Zidane could still end up PSG manager in the near future. Far stranger things have happened, and just because people on Reddit are saying his allegiance with Marseille and Real Madrid means he'd not go to PSG, does not mean that that will definitely play out.

G-Peres

If Mbappè wants him to stay, he'll stay

spursyspursy

promising first decision as psg's new DoF for sure

kindnesd99

>promising first decision as psg ~~'s new DoF~~ for sure Man has transcended dof and is just a walking psg crest now

AnnieIWillKnow

Should rename the Eiffel Tower the Mbappe Tower for good measure

Dramatic-Magician825

They probably offered to name the stadium after him once he retires

narutosama77

The script just got good.

LopazSolidus

Lequip mate. Lequip...

RickThiCisbih

They're just throwing shit on a wall and seeing what sticks

wikiot

Would Pep turn down €50mil? Would City match??

burntroy

Let them fight

DraperCarousel

The thing is City coaxed Pep by buying Girona for his brother and literally made him the Chairman over there. The shady stuff that CFG does behind the scenes is crazy. You just know they pay Pep in some capacity through his brother at Girona, which can't be traced back to City because they're two separate entities(Girona and ManCity) and moreover, Pep's brother isn't a player or staff, he's literally the Chairman, so Uefa can't even track his earnings and stuff. The stuff that CFG is involved in behind the scenes is wayyy more outrageous than whatever PSG is doing. CFG is running a covert operation in almost every country lmaooo

aeteruz

CFG didn't buy Girona for his brother. Both parties (CFG and Peps bro) bought equal shares each of Girona to become majority owners. Peps brother hasn't ever been the president of the club. Girona was like the 6th club bought by CFG so hardly surprising. Some of the takes on this sub.

infidel11990

Source: Trust me bro.

narutosama77

I just want scripts, not all of them have to be made into movies.

Ham_Fighter

Some can be made into TV shows for CFG+.

InheritorII

EggplantBusiness

L'équipe bro , trust someone who read far too many of their article , they trash

trusttt

Dont think Pep will leave City in 2023.

lmh971

Even if he did he's already said he's taking a break after he leaves City

codespyder

Winning Ligue 1 with PSG seems pretty relaxing to me

degenerate-edgelord

Man would lose hair he didn't know he had if he had to watch his team go out of the UCL like clowns the way PSG do

Kumoraaaa

He's built up a lot of experience in that regard at City tbf

codespyder

Makes the transition that much easier then

AnnieIWillKnow

How bittersweet for Pep... discovering he's not bald after all, and then losing it all anyway.

GalaxianEX

He left Barca when he realized that the egos in the locker room were getting too big, so it’s hard to see him going where the egos have already reached critical mass.

ansu_fatismo23

He didn't leave because of that. He left due to his bad relationship with Rosell and the corrupt board, also due to burnout.

Abz247

1st time I heard that. I thought he left because he was burned out.

doobie3101

Thought it was frustration with the board but don’t remember the full story.

Brend4nC

Regardless, can’t imagine he’d go somewhere to co-manage with a player. Still baffled by this move from PSG. They literally made a player bigger than the club. By the end of this second contract they’ll probably have sunk a billion or more into him between initial transfer, new signing bonus, and salaries on both contracts. Nobody is worth that. Plus they gave him the keys to the kingdom on top of all that.

43e1e0

City will join PSG in 2023

arroiuqlu

Qatar 🤝 UAE

running_demon

you joke but Qatar was part in the talks to form the UAE but chose not to eventually. there's an alternative reality where Qatar and bahrain are part of the UAE.

ChefBoyardee66

They were literally part of the weird federation thingy they had before the british conquered them

Cottonshopeburnfoot

There’s an alternate reality where France and Britain are one country. Could’ve had PSG winning the Premier League… https://www.theatlantic.com/international/archive/2017/08/dunkirk-brexit/536106/

running_demon

that was an awesome read! thank you very much for sharing.

GalaxianEX

In a desperate bid by both sides to finally win the UCL… They were taken out by AC Milan in the quarterfinals.

AbdussamiT

All things come to an end

tinhtinh

I think he'll manage Spain after City. They got a really good batch of young players coming through and in 2 more years theyll be even better. Right now his rivalry with Liverpool is the stuff we'll be telling our kids. You just don't see teams this good driving each other to 90+ point seasons.

Psychaz

Pep will never manage Spain

doobie3101

Brazil or Argentina would be my guess. Probably has some eyes on the 2026 World Cup.

captaindeadpool612

Apparently Brazil has long been his goal

samirin305

Why’s that?

djangobhubhu

I'm assuming it's because he supports an independent Catalonia state. Their FA won't appoint him because of that. Brazil or Argentina seems much more likely for Pep, Germany or France if we're going really crazy.

NoesHowe2Spel

Why's everybody sleeping on The Netherlands? The man is the ultimate Cruijff disciple.

semenbakedcookies

The Netherlands only want a Dutch manager

daveofreckoning

Must be great being a journalist. Just write whatever the fuck you want

GalaxianEX

The thing is that when it comes to PSG you can’t dismiss it offhand. There’s a very real chance that the outlandish report is correct.

zi76

[x] doubt

just_a_random_guy_11

PSG: Mr Zidane please join us Zidance: lol no PSG: We never wanted Zidane we want Pochettino to stay

47Lecht

No fucking way he joins PSG anytime soon

just_a_random_guy_11

*ever

forestation

Yeah, whatever you think of Pep I can't imagine he'd shank Kaldoon and Sheikh Monsour like that

jusepama1

Why not?

sc2guy87

Because PSG just gave a 23 year old player the power to influence sporting decisions at the club. He has stayed at City for so long because he has complete control, PSG can’t offer that.

TomShoe

Even if it weren't Kylian Mbappe FC, it's a famously toxic shitshow in which the manager has no control. Basically the opposite of City where it's pretty much him and his pals running a football club together.

just_a_random_guy_11

He joins extremely well run clubs that have extremely competent people from top to bottom. PSG is a mess.

Rancho30

Personally i would love him to go to psg. Or pretty much where ever as long as its not in the prem

fart_smells_good

Appointing Guardiola to win the CL? I think PSG have been living under a rock lately.

Best_Cook

Guardiola can only win with Messi afterall

hokagesamatobirama

How long is Messi’s contract at PSG?

Tanathonos

If I remember correctly 1 more year and then an optional extra year if both parties agree.

CeterumCenseo85

If both parties agree, they can extend it by any amount of time.

AnnieIWillKnow

Well yeah, but they are distinguishing it as an extension of the current deals and hence with the same wage packet etc, rather than a brand new contract.

codespyder

Lmao

TheConundrum98

hahaha yes Kylian

cib_vk228

can't see Pep wanting to go in that mess. He could never implement his principles with forward who don't want to work off the ball.

JoJo3089

That's why psg is restructuring. After next season, Messi won't be there. Not saying messi is a bad player, huge fan of him, but his work rate off the ball is horrendous. Spends most of his time walking/slow jogging

trinedtoday

The thing with his work rate off the ball though, is that's how he's been for years and years and he's delivered in that time. The issue might be both him and Mbappe - who probably has an even worse defensive work rate - playing together on the same team. I wonder if Pochettino or a new manager is able to account for it and balance the team better defensively. I think Messi still offers enough offensively even with the low goal output this season. When I watch them play, he makes tons of key passes and builds up the play.

doobie3101

Messi offers more than enough offensively. He wasn’t as good this year but he’s still Messi.

Oldmanfirebobby

That wouldn’t matter if a team was playing well around him. Messi isn’t the workhorse of a side. And he shouldn’t need to be at this point. Same for ronaldo at United.

JoJo3089

That's the issue tho. Messi wasn't brought to psg to be the main player. There's still Neymar and mbappe

HelloMegaphone

Everybody involved in this stupid club is just so detached from reality. I'm so sick of hearing about them.

SakisSinatra

These clowns are literally living in their own world lol

reviroa

smh you guys don’t seem to understand that pep is dying to finally test himself on a sunny tuesday afternoon in montpellier

SakisSinatra

A cold rainy night at Stoke is too easy for him i guess.

dAdi88

Already setting eyes on a replacement when your current manager still has a year left on his contract - way to make them feel valued. “Kylian Mbappé holds him in high regard”. WTF is this BS?! This whole project is doomed to fail.

Rodrigor26

After keeping up with it the katalans, this summer coming to you Keeping Up With The Parisiens

whayeveridc

We were only in the media cause we’re broke and in huge turmoil. These guys just crave attention.

Vegan_Puffin

This is bizarre, a manager in place who is out ranked by a player. What authority does he have, what respect from the players. Totally weird.

GalaxianEX

Manager who thought he had lost all authority loses last additional bit of authority he didn’t even knew he had.

Drezi_21

WTF is this club. Will Mbappé be appointed manager next?

Akira_Nishiki

He's their new director of football, of course.

GoldenIron

Imagine going from City's set up to PSG 💀

Low_Scale_9692

From one league dominating and Champions league bottling team, which is backed up by oil money to the other.

butte4s

I will give you a clue. It's the league that they are dominating

TomShoe

Plus I think at this point it's pretty clear to everyone that if either of these teams is gonna win the CL any time soon, it's not gonna be PSG.

hallo_mahmud

Will mbappe have time to play next season or he will just be managing psg, it is alot for a little kid.

pedalhead666

https://c.tenor.com/CFd73XKouKEAAAAC/troy-point.gif

Witcher94

What do you mean? Are you sure Pep dont want to work in that clown show under Mbappe?

FloatMyBoat64

I'm sorry, any coach that took 6 months to figure out where and how to play Messi has no business managing a top club with top players.

mechanical_engineer1

You are giving too much credit to psg. PSG is on the top of Ligue 1 but we do not grant them the rank of top club - Mace Windu circa 2050 AD

Prune_Super

Which clubs are top in your opinion?

Brugyx

He took spurs to cl final tho tbf

marcoborriello

Pep as an assistant manager under Mbappe

JaegarJaquez

Babe trust me I changed:

tsub

wtf i love psg now

futurerank1

WTf is that "Kylian Mbappe holds him im high regard" is that shit serious lol

Leopard854

They’re getting Pep so they could win the CL? Oh wait….

Dargast

Pep likes his Kloppo rivalry more

CounterClockworkOrng

"I want that one" 👉📺 Mbappe pointing at Pep on the TV to the PSG owners

TheLimeyLemmon

[Sees man in his underpants sliding across the dressing room floor] "Don't think that was Pep, Kylian."

sopersonicsnail

Aah yes from farmers league to industrial agriculture league

foz97

Pep has a habit of benching the best players players in the squad just to do some craz formation, mbappe will see the lineup for the second game where he starts on the bench and sack pep

dennisixa

Plz , mboopi take pep to psg

Pseudocaesar

Mbappe just casually becoming the most hated player in world football lol

michaelserotonin

i love this but i have serious doubts to both

YoungDawz

The article if you read it is all conditional and suppositions

michaelserotonin

it's paywalled so thank you for that

Xbot_69

No chance Pep works for that mob 😂😂😂

MontiroandCorsa

Haaland just joined, he aint leaving after 1 year with him

teamed209

As oppose to the mob he currently works for?

Xbot_69

Didn’t PSG’s president literally bitch slap a staff member at the Real Madrid game? The desperation of this sub to equate City and PSG (presumably because all Arabs are the same?) is hilarious (pathetic).

saint-simon97

Yes that's what people reckon City and PSG have in common: Arabs. Couldn't be anything else could it

TimmmV

And when they talk about the oil money at Chelsea, from the famously arabic Roman Abramovic

aacod15

The fact that he tried to make this into a race thing is hilarious

psychotichorse

Lol guy called me racist yesterday for speaking about both Qatar and the KSA being shitty slave and murder states. Legitimately argued that slavery wasn’t as bad as murder and therefore I shouldn’t compare the two because it is racist.

Vegan_Puffin

And Man Cities give blowjobs under the table to avoid FFP.

Xbot_69

Good one.

cannacanna

You mean the group of people who he gets along great with, previously worked with him at Barca, and share his philosophy on how to build a team and how to play every week? Yeah absolutely no difference at all there between Txiki Begiristain, Ferran Soriano, and the mess going on at PSG. None what so ever.

Bangbangkadang

He already sold out to Qatar before.

Vegan_Puffin

Why not. He jumps from country to country, going to the best team with the most resources. He is a humble manager working on a meagre budget. No chance to see him go to St-Etienne when the plucky underdogs PSG exist.

staedtler2018

He's gone to clubs or leagues with lots of history, and where he had connections (all the people City hired before him). That's not the PSG profile at all.

Devilton

What could possibly go wrong with keeping a coach fans don't want just as a filler for a coach that may or may not come a year later? Sounds like wasting a year and not being serious about winning the CL next season.

neandertales

Pep needs to replace the whole sporting management side in that case. Txiki will follow. +Chairman lol

smthingawesome

This is why you don't let a 23 yo makes these decisions. You need someone to light a fire up Neymar Messi and Co's butt not someone who indulges them.

jamiehayter

Haha fuck off baldie

thediabolicalkid

Nah, I call bullshit

SteveBorden

Holds him in such regard in fact that he’s willing to replace him NEXT YEAR instead!

toluwalase

Forget my flair, they can’t ever get Pep.

louisbo12

Who the fuck would want to manage club headed by an egotistical turtle who will likely undermine everything you do that he doesnt agree with? I mean it would probably be easy money. Show up, inevitably do a shit job because of Mpaypal, get sacked, and blame it on him and the owners.

WestSiding

This is laughable. Ayo Mbappe! My girl tells me I do a killer back rub, can I be in the physio staff?

b0xel

Poch must grow some delicious lettuce

ILuvMemes4Breakfast

“kylian mbappe holds him in high regard” lmao 23 year old kid actually has a massive say in selecting managers for a football club. ik my flair reveals my hate boner but fuck is PSG a tiny tiny club

Financial-Series-985

why would pep do that,pl is better league and his friends all work for city

Cowdude179

They could tempt Pep with a billion pound contract so I can see it happening

LaCasaBlancaDelRey

PSG vs City ? Qatar vs UAE ? What could make this even better? … wait… is that Newcastle on the horizon ? 😩

biggulp1516

yea fuck off

CheekyKunt68

If you give Poch the right players and not superstars with big egos he’ll get you the UCL

bewarethegap

poch is cool and all, but what evidence is this statement based off of?

bonew23

He got to the CL final with a midfield of Winks and Sissoko.

bewarethegap

And that’s fair, I guess, but Poch hasn’t *won* anything. Which is why I’m confused that this statement was made like he’s a proven winner with superior tactics. Just confused where that belief comes from I guess

LucozadeBottle1pCoin

Tottenham's squad when he took over was largely mediocre - he got rid of the troublemakers/lazy people, and gave priority to youth and turned a perrenial 5th-place team into title challengers.

bewarethegap

And how much time did that take? Time he's not going to get in Paris. He got a lot more leeway in Tottenham then he'll ever get at PSG and it still wasn't enough to get over the hump before his time ran its course. He got the patience to at least build a team, he's most likely not getting that in PSG let's be honest. he's expected to get immediate results. There were rumors of him getting sacked a day after they got knocked out of Europe. If Poch is going to win you anything, it's not going to be overnight and he's not going to be afforded patience. Domestic titles dont really count for much at PSG and he's not a proven winner in Europe which is why I'm *asking* why the belief that "Poch'll win you the CL" is there
