To reduce the spam of reports regarding the same move during transfer windows we try to allow **only one submission about each transfer saga per day**. The submission in question also needs to contain relevant new information regarding the potential move, and not just being a "no/minor developments" report.
If there are important/official developments or new valuable information about a saga, we will allow extra threads in the same day, but for the rest of minor news please just comment them as a reply to this comment. Please help us reporting unnecessary threads for being duplicates.

They then sell it to Chelsea for twice the price in 12 months time. Chelsea get a brand new riverside stadium out of it, but don't realise where it is until it's too late.
Would be very surprised, and disappointed, if we sold mid season given how we are doing. Id take 75m in the summer but right now any transfer fee has to be offset against likely performance revenue.
Does seem odd to be open to selling him for any figure now, given that you have a golden opportunity to make European football for the first time ever.
It won't be impossible next season, but you'd imagine Chelsea and Liverpool don't have two really poor seasons on the trot.
From the Brighton journos the take is that we arent open to selling whatsoever, but the reality is if you come in with an exceptional offer over 80m i am sure there would come a point where you have to consider it
No. The club released a piece in which he says he is focused on Brighton, but of course its an official source hes hardly gonna say please help me get out.
Would be an interesting business strategy. Yeah that's fair enough, knew about that piece but had heard reports he wanted out from crap sources and wondered if there was anything more substantial.
No, I can't believe Ben Jacobs got something right. That said, I'm not sure I see him going now unless us or Chelsea offer silly money, which isn't out of the question I suppose.
Why? He's played 26 PL games and he isn't flawless, his passing game still needs to improve.
The price tag being higher is more due to it being mid season and Brighton being in the race for Europe.
Really good defensive intelligence and press resistance for a 21 year old. He can comfortably evade pressure in the first build up phase and can find clever forward passes/carry the ball well. But his ability to shut down opposition counter attacks makes him a rare breed, he can dominate the middle and defensive thirds. Him under arteta would be pretty scary really if he can develop his game
Sounds like Partey. He must be a more raw version where he slides in more and has less pass selection when compared to TP5? He can grow into those of course.
I imagine its like the bids I fat finger in career mode and offer £100 for a player and the opposing manager gets up in a strop and says how insulted they are by it
I don't see this happening at all. Why would they sell him this late which will affect their performance when they are on course for European football right now.
was never getting accepted, i understand wanting to negotiate but wih 4 days left of the window, why start at such a low number? when chelsea already been quoted to at least 75m to make the offer look appealing
becuase i would love for mikel to evaluate if we can use him in the summer, and his current valuation will not be reflected in any transfer right now. his combination of pace, power and decent technicality is rare( now about that decision making...)
Where would we possibly need him? Hes not better than zinchenko or tierney and even tomi can fill in at left back in the inverted role. Id rather cash in when his reputation is high
Probably not a popular opinion but I'm not sure he's good enough for top team yet. I would be staying away at those prices and I'm sure that's what Brighton are hoping. Similar situation to Cucu, get fleeced for potential instead of the finished product.
It's very short term benefit though. You do that once and you burn some serious bridges, your reputation takes serious hit. You will be hounded by rivals and media for few years to come.
If you still think that's worth it, at least keep your desires private. Otherwise you give excuses to lot of other people wanting to slander our whole fanbase here.
Look at our team man. What we have done so far dwarfs Liverpool's title precisely because we have done everything the right way. And we can still win the title without doing shit like this. We have the money, either we pay asking price or find someone else. This guy was literally losing 7-0 in Belgian league a year ago. We should wait for Rice in the summer, get some stop gap loan now or some older/cheaper deal like Trossard for now. There should be plenty of such options. We are panicking and ruining summer plans here.
Yeah if we actually can get Caicedo I feel like we should but the thing is that I just don’t see Brighton giving him away in the winter. Onana meanwhile seems to be more obtainable and he’s also good. Maybe we would even have money for a successor to Cedric or something
Christ mate boohoo, how much have you been spending on Gakpo and the Uruguayan Andy Carroll, when a few years ago Arsenal's only first team signing was Petr Cech
Can't do anything when we have our local fanbase telling us we are not real fans just because we are not from Liverpool and we should go support City every time we say something bad about the owners. I applaud your fans for showing ambition though.
They probably garnering more goodwill than Chelsea and Arsenal deliberately lowballing Brighton's players to try and unsettle them, at least. It's not a serious attempt at acquiring him.

Imagine the scenes when Brighton pool all this transfer money and just straight out buy Everton
Brighton only make sensible investments though?
They then sell it to Chelsea for twice the price in 12 months time. Chelsea get a brand new riverside stadium out of it, but don't realise where it is until it's too late.
I've been hearing about Chelsea new stadium for years, is there any change? last time I think Abramovic stopped due to some visa shit in UK?
Tbf most of their fans would never know the difference
Brighton usually make wise investments, so probably not.
I was about to joke they’d buy Bellingham, but that is way funnier
Subscribe.

Yeah that's fair enough. It's a fuck off price to be sure. Is there any indication he wants out from good Brighton sources?
No. The club released a piece in which he says he is focused on Brighton, but of course its an official source hes hardly gonna say please help me get out.

My comment didnt age well...

What a ride
60 millions fixed damn he is worth more than i thought
Why? He's played 26 PL games and he isn't flawless, his passing game still needs to improve. The price tag being higher is more due to it being mid season and Brighton being in the race for Europe.
Because he's a high class, very young midfielder in a January transfer window from a team that neither wants nor needs to sell.
What’s he good at? I haven’t watched him much
Very good all rounder. Box to box defensive minded
Really good defensive intelligence and press resistance for a 21 year old. He can comfortably evade pressure in the first build up phase and can find clever forward passes/carry the ball well. He's pretty good at football
But is he Benny Blanco "yeah obviously" level good?
Obviously
That bid lasted a long time, almost 40 minutes between the two reports
I imagine its like the bids I fat finger in career mode and offer £100 for a player and the opposing manager gets up in a strop and says how insulted they are by it
[удалено]
feels like any player under 100m is gonna be bargain, lol
damn we are so lucky to have real time report from journalists, not even a second delay
Actually a 40minute delay it seems
I don't see this happening at all. Why would they sell him this late which will affect their performance when they are on course for European football right now.
Negotiations continue then. This is a non story, it was always going to happen.
> Negotiations continue then. Do they? > BHAFC insisting 21yo is not for sale.
>BHAFC insisting 21yo is not for sale. That is exactly how negotiations work mate
If clubs only ever bid for players that aren't for sale, then no player would literally ever get a transfer.
We all know that everyone at Brighton is for sale for the right price. I'd be shocked if somewhere around 75-90 doesn't get it done.
was never getting accepted, i understand wanting to negotiate but wih 4 days left of the window, why start at such a low number? when chelsea already been quoted to at least 75m to make the offer look appealing
Yeah I'm not really sure, maybe it was structured more favourably than Chelseas bid, but seems low. £70M would have made more sense.
Brighton don’t come off their valuation, even if there is one bidder. They’ll just wait till they get it.
Oh yeah I wouldn't really expect £70M to be accepted either tbf, but £60M was obviously being rejected out of hand.
Because they're not expecting it to be accepted, they're trying to unsettle a player to help themselves down the line.
Ornstein saying we have considerable funds to strengthen this window. Think we'll end up offering the 75m, no clue if they'll accept.
I wonder if this deal have Tavares included in it? Brighton were looking at him in the summer if I can remember
i really hope not.
Why? Tavares is surplus atm
becuase i would love for mikel to evaluate if we can use him in the summer, and his current valuation will not be reflected in any transfer right now. his combination of pace, power and decent technicality is rare( now about that decision making...)

Crazy that this guy lost 7-0 to Anderlecht last year
Duh
Arsenal inflating the market again. Sigh
Look who's talking
There's a very slight chance they were joking, mate.
Probably not a popular opinion but I'm not sure he's good enough for top team yet. I would be staying away at those prices and I'm sure that's what Brighton are hoping. Similar situation to Cucu, get fleeced for potential instead of the finished product.
you could be right, but i would just have had way more trust in this opinion if you werent a spurs fan...
It was an opening offer always gonna be rejected I just hope we can get it done and get him to try and force the move.
> get him to try and force the move. Not very nice, this.
Life isn’t nice
>get him to try and force the move. No, fuck that. Change your flair to Barcelona if you like being an asshole that much.
Mate it’ll always happen in football I just wanna benefit

I just want to win the title, Liverpool tapped up VVD, Barca and Madrid do it all the time it happens
Look at our team man. What we have done so far dwarfs Liverpool's title precisely because we have done everything the right way. And we can still win the title without doing shit like this. Don’t bother with Caicedo and just get Onana. He’s cheaper to get and who knows how long Partey will get away from facing legal consequences
I mean, Onana is good, but Caicedo is much better. That's like saying give up on Mbappe and pick up Morata.
Yeah if we actually can get Caicedo I feel like we should but the thing is that I just don’t see Brighton giving him away in the winter. Onana meanwhile seems to be more obtainable and he’s also good. Maybe we would even have money for a successor to Cedric or something
Why we have trash American owners compared to Arsenal, Chelsea ? I don't fucking get it. Are we Liverpool club cursed with owners or what ?
Christ mate boohoo, how much have you been spending on Gakpo and the Uruguayan Andy Carroll, when a few years ago Arsenal's only first team signing was Petr Cech
Same owners that also broke the defender transfer record and basically brought in all the other major players in a champions league-winning side

No shit.
Love baiting Chelsea to get rinsed
He's not going unless Chelsea offer 80. Which is absolutely possibly in this timeline.
