This is pretty cool. I once saw two black snakes fall out of a tree while they were mating. They were tied in several knots and tried slithering away from me dragging each other. It was a sight to see. Haha

Just to add more details male snakes have two hemipenes on either side of their cloaca (reptiles have one single opening for all the business at the base of their tail). When a male and female mate they will lock each other cloacas and then the male inverts his hemipenes, the hemipenes are kinda like pouches that contain sperm and when they invert them they exit the male and enter the female now with sperm on the outside of the hemipenes and transfered internally to the female. Then from there kinda basic reproduction, sperm travel through the female reproductive system and implant into the eggs. These eggs develop in females until they are laid but in some species such as copperheads they develop fully inside the female and are born live which is referred to as ovoviviparous
