Turn that frown upside down!
( . Y . )
Listen here you lil’ shit
That’s mirrored, this is upside down: :(
If you eat chicken you are actively supporting this.
Just something to keep in mind
Depends on where you get your chicken
If you get it at the supermarket, there's a 98% chance it came from a factory farm.
If you get it from the store than yes
Not really. If you eat basically any products that have eggs in them you're contributing to the above.
You are assuming store bought, I'm hinting at raising your own and direct from the farm
Sorry I should have been more explicit. Someone who gets their actual eggs from chickens like you’ve stated might not contribute to the blending of chicks as shown in the post but those individuals are still buying products that contain egg in them that is coming from the egg industry that does this. That was the point being made.
Usually farms that raise their own few chickens either buy the chicks from a farm that kills the males in this way, or they put the males into a box or a bag and either gas them or crush them.
Sorry to break it to you, but even if you raise your own chickens the standard practice is to kill the males in their infancy. Very few people that keep egg-laying hens have space or desire to keep a rooster around too. Male chicks are disposed of with no regard for their lives no matter where you source your eggs.
But I don't.
Canes sounds good rn
Thanks for that bud
I dont like chickens
this is how peeps are made
>It's so fast the chicks are dead within a second and have minimal suffering
Lol, when my time comes I hope I get launched into a blender, that seems like minimal suffering.
Not much dignity in it…
What the yuck man....why are there so many superfluous chicks?
There are literally billions of egg producing chickens, to sustain that number a lot of them are inseminated and all the male chickens are killed immediately and the female chickens will be kept in cages for 2 or 4 years to just produce eggs and then killed when they die of stress, exhaustion or for meat. The bio industrie is horrible
The Bio industry prevents that sorta shit.
You are talking about the generl meat industry.
Maybe it is a translation error on my part, bio industry is all biological industry, meat and dairy are part of that. That is how i know it
Mayve its on me.
Bio products here only can call themselves that if they were ethically and resource savingly produced.
don't think there is any regulations that makes it "ethical". There is always useless suffering involved in the production of animal based products. The way they are artificially bred to meet demmand, the way they are treated during their lifetime, the way they are treated once they don't produce enough milk or eggs to be worth it, the way they are moved from their location to where they are killed, the way they are killed.
At every single step, there is a risk that legislations aren't enough, or that they couldn't be enough because that step itself cannot be peaceful for the animal. Even with regulations, there are risks that they aren't properly followed 100% of the time.
Not even mentioning the "natural" deaths occuring. Epidemics, genetic defects, injuries etc. Could all lead to painfull deaths for these animals, and there isn't really anything you can do for these to not occur. Bio or not. This is suffering that could have been avoided.
I am 100% for wellfarist actions that aim at improving the life of farmed animals. They have proved really effective at reducing their suffering. And if you buy an animal product, buying a bio one is really better than a non bio one.
However, we should still know thay, whatever the process and regulations used to create the product, there was suffering involved, and we should still seek to lower as much as possible our consumption of these products even if they are labeled as "bio".
This is why I buy the expensive eggs
We have to make eggs out of plastic
no that’s just making it worse
For every female egg layer there is also a male that provides no value to the industry so they kill \_every last one of them\_. \~1 million chicks are killed this way every day in the United States alone.
But if you don't consume eggs or chicken then this will happen less in the future.
*"We shall take only the greatest minds, the finest soldiers, the most faithful servants. We shall multiply them a thousandfold and release them to usher in a new era of glory."*

God I love SM:AC so much.
"Effect: All of your bases enter a permanent state of Population Boom and will grow every turn provided NUTRIENT output is sufficient and Hab facilities are adequate. The negative effects of the Power and Thought Control social engineering choices are eliminated."
Out of context, those words are chilling.
This is chick culling using the maceration method. It's so fast the chicks are dead within a second and have minimal suffering. It's better than other chick culling methods such as gasses and suffocation etc.
I’m gonna take your word for it, but it still feels cold. Like a monument to humanity’s ego, just tossing newborn “undesirable” animals into a food processor. Its jarring.
In nature if one died in the nest I’m pretty sure it’s mother and siblings would immediately devour the hell out of it.
We can’t fault nature for that because animals are stupid and have no sense of morality. We give ourselves shit over it because we’re intelligent and hate existing so we do whatever we can to gratify ourselves, whether it be treating animals kindly or using said animals as fodder for our depression.
That’s exactly what it is. Stop buying chicken. Stop buying eggs.
What if I buy a chicken, treat it nice myself, and eat the eggs as they come?
That's what I do, we have five hens And a cockrel. Gives plenty of eggs plus pets
for all five of those hens statistically there was 5 roosters that were killed by the hatchery that you got your chickens from.
That’s why vegans don’t see backyard eggs as ethical, also it drains nutrients from their bodies to lay that many eggs.
Which is why we feed them properly, every single day they'll get vegetable cuttings along with protein pellets and crushed eggshells. In the winter we make fat balls for them
Look my parents have backyard chickens they’re treated great, but they’re still incredibly susceptible to random disease and laying that many eggs not natural, and it’s often uncomfortable when an egg is too big.
Since we don’t NEED eggs we should refrain from it
I agree it isn't necessary, I don't even like egg. It was mainly my parents decision
Theres a video from Earthling Ed. He explains it a million times better than I ever could.
Just being 100% honest I’m not going to take a detour and watch a whole ass other video just to figure out your stance on an issue. But I assume the jist is “meat bad even if you do everything yourself as humanely as possible”, and if that’s the case you’re never going to win me over on that one.
Plenty of animals get shredded in combines every time vegetables are harvested, and that’s not even for the purpose of being eaten. There’s no getting around some animal somewhere dying so that you can eat unless you literally grow all your food and make sure of that yourself.
You're right, there's no getting around animals dying. But the vegan position is not to stop doing anything with the potential to harm a sentient creature. It's to eliminate as much suffering *as reasonably possible*. Eating plants only (grains, fruits, nuts, beans, vegetables, seeds, etc.) is the path of least harm.
As you said, actively contributing to the killing of billions of thinking, feeling creatures is a testament to the power of our ego. It was difficult for me when I first learned what I was a part of.
I mean, you asked, I offered you a competent source for the information you where looking for.
The gist is: There is no gist. It's a complex issue. We are not even talking about meat, we are talking about eggs.
But to be 100% honest: I really don't care whether or not you really look for answers.
The wild red fowl, which is what egg laying hens were bred from, naturally produce 12 eggs every year. The egg laying hens that we farm have been genetically bred to produce over 300 eggs per year. The process of producing eggs is extremely taxing on the hen's body, sapping calcium directly from their bones for the shell alone. These hens should not be bred in the first place. Even rescued hens often die very young because it's simply difficult to survive when your genetics are as fucked as they are for these animals.
On top of that, when you buy a hen, you've also doomed a male chick to death on day one of life because males are useless to the industry. We shouldn't be buying these animals, no matter how well we plan on treating them. As they say in the pet industry, "adopt, don't shop." Hens should be rescued, not bought and sold.
Now, what if you were to rescue a hen instead of buying her? The problem here is that whenever you take an egg from a hen, you trigger a biological need for her to replace what was lose: she'll produce more eggs, further sapping nutrients from her body. Hens actually have a natural tendency to eat their own eggs as a way of replacing lost nutrients. Instead of taking her eggs, we should let her eat her own eggs.
Oftentimes, "backyard" hen owners will cull hens that eat their own eggs because other hens that see the behavior will copy it, and thus it's bad for profit.
There really is no such thing as an ethical egg.
For every female chicken you treat nice a male is killed in its infancy. This does not get away from the problem.
Likewise, if this is objectionable, then so too is breaking a chicken's neck at 2 years into its 10+ year lifespan and replacing it with a better egg-layer.
Vegan promoters are everywhere
I mean, there is literally a baby chicken blender.
Really? I thought it was a baby chicken amusement park.
Holy shit, someone please post this pic to like r/wholesome with a title about "Thoughtful farmer opens an amusement park for baby chicks"

Yes, very humane. Been campaigning for wood chippers to be used at veterinary clinics and hospices for years.
I never said it was humane, I said it was a better method than others used.
How is that going i want one
well to be honest the chicks are very small, for a dog it would take a good few very unpleasant seconds let alone a human
If it’s too humane for a pedo it’s probably humane enough for an animal.
Thats kinda like saying the firing squad has the lowest rate of botched executions. Technically true but not meaningfully true.
I know better one: Stop doing and supporting it.
Hey now, don't be angry at me. I'm just explaining what's going on to those that don't know.
Not angry, just explained that there is better way.
Mmmmm chicken 🍗
Im asian we eat insects alive, this is nothing. Get off your moral high horse.
I can't taste the difference, personally.
What kinda sub IS this?!
I think my algorithm is drunk again
Fake YouTube titles
This is what you pay for when you buy meat, industrialized torture and slaughter of millions of animals. Eat plants instead, it's better for you and for the planet.
Well now I'm sad
This is why eating eggs is morally untenable.
Yes, this is the type of video that makes vegans.
You can say that again!
can you do that please? it got removed
word-for-word "Go vegan! Keep those billions of baby chicks from killed every year.
Make sure to watch Dominion (2018) at
Take the next step today and make a difference for the animals, the environment, and yourself. Try a free 30-day vegan challenge and get help along the way r/vegan"
That was the whole thing and true
Thanks, I already forgot what was written there. Very helpful. +1
Based and vegan-pilled
If chickens didn't want to get eaten then they wouldn't taste so damn good
Can you explain why your meat also taste good when prepared right?
you don't know what i do to my body to make it unappetizing.
Spices is everything.
How do you know that have you taken a bite?
No, but I'm good with spices.
A hungry predator would eat me the same way a hungry me would eat another animal, its nothing personal between me and the animal it just so happens that I'm hungry and he's made of food
Right because you have no other choice and you're out there hunting chickens with your bare hands and huge lion canines.
How did you know? You been spying on me?
That's survival scenario.
Did you just compare yourself to a predator? Not a good look my man
Humans are literally the apex predators
Nails lol, teeth lol, speed lol.
Don't need any of that when you're intelligent enough as a species to make tools to replace those
Ever ate raw chicken?
I prefer mine medium rare
Ever eat chicken without seasoning?
You do realize that you would also taste pretty good if you were roasted, right?
damn right lookin like a snack lmao
Does this mean I have your explicit consent to track you down, hunt you, butcher and consume you?
only if you can catch me I'm free range
[Some of ya'll lookin tasty tonight](https://youtu.be/-rnc1rjk-UM?t=77)…
I taste good raw just ask my mrs
What bruh moment? They're correct. If you eat chicken, you're actively contributing to this. You're paying for this to happen. That's the truth.
That’s actually better for the environment. It removes an overpopulated pest animal and provides you food for a year while not supporting polluting factory farms. Enjoy your free range venison my dude
That fact that people are aware of this and still choose to eat eggs makes me constantly wish for humanity to die off.
"humanity is a plague" mfers when you tell them to kill themselves
Obviously you kill everyone else first and yourself last, you dolt
I think humanity is doing a good job on their own.
Going vegan is a good start. Want to do more? Try activism.
What is this
Theyre bad eggs
I thought these were Peeps and we don’t have Peeps over here
I was thinking about "Chick Culling" yesterday as I was eating chicken nuggets for lunch, I even muttered it under my breath. Strange coincidence? Probably not
