Yes, you can get pretty much any package shipped to you c/o the Canada Post locations in your nearest Shoppers. I did that all the time before I started working from home. For Amazon though you have to specify that you're doing it through pickup, otherwise they'll use Intelcom here, so going that route will probably add a day or so to your delivery times.
I went on the Canada Post website and got a flex delivery address. All my packages go to my local post office so I no longer have to worry about someone stealing them when they are delivered.
99.9% of the time it will not because the deliveries come with the regular normal drop-offs that the postal outlet gets. You do get that time when the "new" employee doesn't know.
No, because they give you a PO box address and I think Purolator is basically the only courier able to ship to PO boxes (because they are owned by Canada Post).
So if your package is shipped via UPS, FedEx or Intelcom, you cannot use Flex Address.
Yah, I've had a few places I order from use it. Basically Purolator handles it until it gets to the destination city, and then they give it to Canada Post.
This is generally something for the apartment manger/company, etc to do, but, Canada post does offer a drop off locker for multi-dwelling units. I'm not sure the cost or how it works, but, we had one when I lived in the Greens apartments for a bit. Canada post lock up and they just put the key into your mailbox.
If your company allows it then have it shipped to your office. I have medical equipment shipped and I do it to my office so they have to physically hand it to someone or at set it inside the office.
I think if this was happening to me, I'd start booby-trapping packages with dye and glitter and leaving them out. Or maybe just get a cheap camera to catch them in action. It isn't acceptable to wander around stealing from people.
Had a friend who kept having stuff stolen so they did this with glitter, little styrofoam packing balls, and cat poop. No packages have been stolen since
Anything shipped by mail can be delivered to Canada post. I get stuff from Europe shipped by standard mail as opposed to UPS, and it always goes to my selected or nearest Canada post office.
As someone else mentioned earlier, when you place an order there should be an option to select an [Amazon Delivery Drop point](https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://www.amazon.ca/gp/help/customer/display.html%3FnodeId%3DGGG6WGQPJCA7U9HV&ved=2ahUKEwjW1Lqg8cH7AhW3jIkEHaA7C4cQFnoECAsQAQ&usg=AOvVaw0-3Paz2OJpZ5YUqYsT8xCc) near you instead of your home address. I'm not sure what the *other* person is going on about new employees not finding out right away because the list of [drop points around the city are all Canada Post locations.](https://www.amazon.ca/gp/store-info/search/handlers/accesspoint-find.html/ref=apcx_aw_search_form_text) (just enter your postal code for the closest one near you). No one is going to suddenly deny your package.
I do wish we had more of the Amazon Hub Lockers like they have in the US (ex: in department stores like Kohls, in the middle of nowhere in North Dakota next to a card lock station and a drive up coffee kiosk, etc.) but you're not without options.
That sucks, sorry dude. I once had a brand new bbq stolen from HL, but I suppose chaining it down doesn't work in your case. Is there somewhere discreet on your porch or a back door they could put deliver packages to with some instruction?
That’s awful sorry to here. I don’t know what additional instructions I have. It got stolen out of a secured building so I am not sure what other options I have than moving the package to a safer delivery location
Depending on the size of the package, you can have Amazon ship to a post office near you for pickup. I also know some people who have stuff shipped to our workplace, though I'm not sure if that would be an option for you.
Sorry that happened to you. It really does bite doesn't it? I have had it happen to me as well.
As others have suggested, next time on Amazon, you can select to have it delivered to a "pick up point". It will save that choice for your next order, so you don't have to select it everytime. Other couriers also have options to "hold at depot" or "deliver to pick up spot", etc. Usually a simple process to register yourself and you can make changes while a package is en route.
Have you contacted Amazon? They should refund your purchase, no hassle. A friend's wife sells stuff on Amazon and told me "Amazon assumes responsibility until you are in possession of your order, not just left delivered to your house"
Do you know off hand whether your item was packaged in Amazon packaging, or was it visible for everyone to see what it was? Was it valuable? Sometimes Amazon will give a little warning that items won't arrive in their packaging, but you are able to choose to do so before placing the order.
I've had dozens of Amazon boxes sit on my front step all day with no issues (I live in Calgary, BTW). I had ordered a 3D printer, got confirmation picture of the delivery sitting on my step in the early afternoon. It was not in an Amazon box. Got home 2 hours later and it was gone. I have suspicion that my (now moved) neighbor or delivery driver is who took my package. A short time ago a Redditor in Edmonton posted front door cam footage of an Intelcom driver dropping off an order (speakers), taking a delivery picture, scooping up the box and putting it back in the van.
Anyway TL;DR getting your Amazon packages shipped directly to a PO, while slightly inconvenient, can save you another headache.
FYI, I worked for UPS. It certainly is hard work, but those guys are NOT underpaid. I was part time, and was making over $22/hr after only being there a few years. The full time drivers were in the 30's as I recall.
This was like a decade ago, so they're certainly higher now.
Sure, maybe it's that easy in your case but when they are graded based on performance ... yeah, it can be a lot quicker just to drop the package in the first spot.
Look up Flex Delivery with Canada Post. It gives you a free mailing address you can use for your online orders. It's a proper address but it goes to a Canada Post outlet to be picked up.
I've used it for things like plants that can't go to a hot/cold community mailbox.
[https://www.canadapost-postescanada.ca/cpc/en/personal/receiving/alternative-delivery/flexdelivery.page](https://www.canadapost-postescanada.ca/cpc/en/personal/receiving/alternative-delivery/flexdelivery.page)
The problem with Flex Delivery is that they give you a PO box address and unless the place you are ordering from ships via Canada Post (or Purolator, which I think is like the only courier that can ship to PO boxes because they are mostly owned by Canada Post) then you can't use it.
And honestly, I'd rather have my packages risk being stolen over being handled by Canada Post lol.
You can have it shipped to pickup location for pickup. You can find the closest one when you checkout and select pickup.

Do you know Does this work for non Canada post deliveries?
99.9% of the time it will not because the deliveries come with the regular normal drop-offs that the postal outlet gets. You do get that time when the "new" employee doesn't know.

Thanks for the info
Purolator will not ship to PO boxes. I mean, it'll let you ship it. But, it'll end up at the Purolator Warehouse as non deliverable.
They do via PuroPost, which is what I forgot in there. Normal Purolator services don't.
Ah PuroPost. That makes sense! Never used that service.
Yah, I've had a few places I order from use it. Basically Purolator handles it until it gets to the destination city, and then they give it to Canada Post.

Someone on my street build a little drop box thingy (kinda a mailbox thing). Obviously someone could break into it but better than the porch
Pro tip: The video will generally do nothing for you except let you see what happened.
Had a friend who kept having stuff stolen so they did this with glitter, little styrofoam packing balls, and cat poop. No packages have been stolen since
100% not acceptable. 100% still done by the trash of Regina.
A classmate had that happen to him last week and he lives in HL
I don’t have any helpful advice, but I just wanted to say that sucks, and I'm sorry it happened to you. :/
Send an email to Mark Rober and he might send you a glitter bomb disguised as a package for part of his yearly porch pirate trolling video. 😂
Is Canada post in London drug possible for drop off?
Not sure if it is possible but probably worth it. Do they charge for the deliveries outside Canada post to be sent there?
Canada Post only lets its own shipments be kept in a Canada Post sub post office.
Anything shipped by mail can be delivered to Canada post. I get stuff from Europe shipped by standard mail as opposed to UPS, and it always goes to my selected or nearest Canada post office.

Infuriating. Good luck friend.

I get all my packages shipped to my work since I'm there during delivery hours anyway. Can you ship to your work instead?
I’m going to look into this option with my boss thanks 😊

Yeah, let's blame the delivery guys who are generally overworked and underpaid!
FYI, I worked for UPS. It certainly is hard work, but those guys are NOT underpaid. I was part time, and was making over $22/hr after only being there a few years. The full time drivers were in the 30's as I recall. This was like a decade ago, so they're certainly higher now.
Hey guys look, this guy thinks wages have gone up in the past decade.
Their union is pretty heavy handed, they have negotiations for wage increase nearly every second or third year at least.
I would replace "heavy handed" with "effective" by that description, sounds nice.

Sure, maybe it's that easy in your case but when they are graded based on performance ... yeah, it can be a lot quicker just to drop the package in the first spot.
They really aren't under paid. A lot of the full time drivers that have been there for a while are making over $30 an hour to drive a truck around.
Get it shipped to nearest pick up point.
Flex delivery address. Get your packages sent to London Drugs.
