Absolutely. If you haven't read the Darth Bane trilogy by Drew Karpyshyn I highly reccomend it.

Oh it’s my favorite… I hope they make something more and keep him canon and the rule of 2. The opening scene in the third book training in the rain still gives me goosebumps thinking about it.

Imo Count Dooku. Highly underrated. Like a sean connery style sith. Not as powerful as many others but he's excellent in the book Yoda: Dark Rendezvous

Revan Became a sith so that the Republic would either militarize and defeat him, setting them up for the conflict with the Sith Empire, or he would defeat them and be ready to rumble with the Sith Empire.
