Accountability of losers falls on the Grocery Manager and the Store Manager. Do you keep losers on payroll, or do you move on to new applicants who want to work?
This is the stuff I feel for. At least with Customer Service you always have a TL or Manager, plus 3 CSS on duty, 2 cashiers and 3 baggers when you close. Sometimes you get more or less but 9 people a night is fairly common. It's easier to deal with one call out at CS than grocery. Let's be honest. But three in grocery? OOF! RIP you but try to make the best of it.
whenever we have call-outs or poor scheduling in my store, CS stays to help out or levels a few aisles for the clerks so they have less to do :( always horrible when they only leave two clerks to close
Nope. I was active duty Army for almost 25 years. At my store almost 6 years FT. I'm still having fun doing hard work with sharpnel still in my back. I'm a glorified GRS.
Oh yes... The fellow associates that are there but not there to work.
You got a love it and laugh.
Little story for you: I overheard my GM say that a grocery clerk was deadwood, who latter bragged that he got a 25 cent raise. (WTF) My turn for my evaluation. I got a 25 cent raise also. I do think I'm a hard worker. I refused to sign and say I'm not deadwood. So, a 75 cent raise was given. Please feel free to use this if it helps in the future my friend.
OMG! I am so so sorry. I know what that feels like. And I'm sure you did it all yourself like me. I hope everything went well and you don't have a lot of frozen water puddles on the shelf. I really hope that we never have to go through that again.
I know how you feel...You're the stepchild that nobody wants to walk into the freezer with at times.
Being in the Army, I am thinking about putting out some suggestions on r/Publix to our fellow snowtroopers on how to keep your fingers warm and dry. What do you think?
Man I wish I had a dollar for every time we don’t get scheduled an opener in frozen on a non truck day and management wonders why back stock never gets worked.
(Next day. Off) Oh I did...well, I have to tell you that I am also an ice cream a hollick.
B&J cinnamon of this swerlled (sp).
Talenti Vanilla Cinnamon.
Chocolate Cherrish Passion
HaagonDas; Coconut and pineapple
I had the last one last night:-p
Are any of the call-outs chronic call-outs?
All of them.. I guess they don't want a good paycheck???
If they are chronic call-outs, they do not have a future with Publix Super Markets.
I think your right. But where's the self discipline to do the right actions, eh?

You Speak the Truth my friend. I just see no one ever getting fired. Just there hours cut down and "us" picking up the slack.
If the Grocery department is underachieving and the Grocery Manager fails in accountability, new department management is needed.
Very respectfully, I Disagree... I go refer back to my original answer.
Yeah, trying to put a good smile on today. It's a little painful. It seems that we have a full team on Grocery clerks wanting to be late or no shows.

Love to have ya here!

Thank you for sharing. Now that, that night is over with. (Whew) The CS manager stayed and did help us immensely.
RIP
O 00 ooo○○ oh my head.
I'm still alive. Yeahhhhhhh
Are you wanting to advance, that’s a good time to stand out.

With a few on our crew it makes little difference if they're there or not. Only more room to work.

Bruh we only get 3 grocers on a Sunday 😫
A Batman salute to you..Pow! Bamp! High volume store with 3 people is crazy.
They had to pull 20 doors of my ice cream freezer yesterday, just finished putting it back...

That’s how frozen gets abused

I lived that life for too long
Frozen isn’t touched at all on my days off.
LOVE that FMLA
Yeah... Everything is awesome!
Aren't you glad you close? Now you have all night to catch up! Me? I'm gonna have a bowl of ice cream and go to bed! 😃
Good luck, tho. Don't overwork yourself.. Be careful.

Cinnamon? I like the Publix cappachino one. Mayfield brown cow, White House cherry.
I'll have to try the brown cow. Its BOGO now.
