15 years of smoke… imagine your lungs! But also…, 15 years of normal wood surface discoloration would be about that color anyway, just maybe a little worse for wear from those skies also being smoke laden. You should target to maintain wood surfaces between 1 - 5 years depending upon sun exposure and other factors.

I’d say the facepalm here is, you’re way too close with the tip of the gun, and you are also doing short back and forth passes. Every time you change directions you pause for a split second, leaving a lighter color line in the wood.
I'm assuming that they're disappointed that you didn't finish filming the whole thing. #1 unspoken rule here is to finish cleaning it so you don't leave all of us with blue balls.
If you want it to stay that way put a finish on it I do linseed oil every so often on mine
Good idea! How do you apply it on a rougher surface like this one?

Did you wear a mask? The particles could aerosolize and get in your lungs. The water would help catch some of them but still
No, I did not. I was also wearing flip flops.

I’m a legit scientific miracle. I’m still alive!!!
I appreciate the commitment to the bit xD
It just popped in there and I had to keep it up!
Just make sure you’re not throwing the linseed rags in the trash afterwards unless you want a forest fire.
