The best things in life take a lot of people collaborating together 😍
Seriously though, why is it "bad" in art/music for multiple people work together to create something? Everything outside of art/music has tons of people collaborating together
It's bad because it's Beyoncé, she's overrated, and her music isn't even that good, it all sounds the same: bad. She's literally a glorified karaoke singer.
/uj because she's black and people don't like she's a cultural icon so they look for reasons to dislike her. It doesn't have any more depth than that.
But she struggled so much in the label her dad owned trying to find her footing in Nashville after she moved there with full support from her well-off family 😖😖
uj/ I'd rather have 30 producers credited on a legitimate bop than have a boring song "Written and produced by Taylor Swift and Jack Antonoff only" that puts me into eternal sleep
I'm telling you it's gotta be an issue with the artist cuz I be listening to Jack Antonoff produced The 1975 Songs like 💃🎵🤪, and I be listening to Jack Antonoff produced Taylor Swift music like 😐😑😐😴
It depends on how much control the artist gives to the producer. Anton Jackoff seems to exert much more influence on Queen Swift's music than he does on The 1975
Here's how I see it. Jack is a producer very rooted in the 80s obviously, and he's also very good at helping an artist execute their vision.
Examples include the new 1975 record, Lorde's Melodrama, Kevin Abstract's ARIZONA BABY, etc etc.
However, he's old school in the sense that he really just helps serve as a polisher / executer of ideas. If an artist doesn't bring their A game, he can't make something A level out of it.
Examples of that include the new Lorde album, the couple of projects he's worked with Taylor on, etc.
I just don't think there's certain artists that are either bringing it to the table or have enough chemistry with him musically to really make it work.
It's all subjective at the end of the day. But it's really hard for me to agree that Taylor/the artist is to be blamed when the Dessner produced tracks on Folklore and Evermore on average all sound better than the Antonoff produced songs. At least for my ears that is.
Again that's why I'm saying artist - producer chemistry has a lot to do with it. It'd be one thing if everything Jack was producing now was equally mediocre but he's still making plenty of good.
Basically what I mean to say it.
Jack shouldn't be the producer for everyone. I know plenty of artists (and studio executives) have watched him make fantastic music with female artists but just throwing him at ones and hoping he'll strike lighting twice isn't a great idea
This criticism is so tired...only reason the credits are so long is because of the sampling/references/and interpolations of other songs, and it'll at most be a line or two
Not that I agree with the criticism re having multiple co-writers but can you name other artists of Beyoncé’s stature that have a similar amount of co-writers?
Kanye West. Mostly due to sampling. Which is also the reason Renaissance has multiple credits. Both Kanye and Beyoncé are known for crediting everyone in the room. Even if you change one lien, they credit you.
When the Grammys announced the Album of the Year nominations a few days ago, Beyonce's *Renaissance*, Kendrick Lamar's *Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers* & Mary J. Blige's *Good Morning Gorgeous* all had a similar amount of credits ([proof here](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grammy_Award_for_Album_of_the_Year#2020s)).
It is very normal in R&B and Hip-Hop-adjacent music to use a lot of samples so you have to credit everybody, including the sample's songwriters & producers. The previous year's nominations, H.E.R's *Back of My Mind* and Kanye West's *Donda* also had similar amount of credits (maybe even longer?). Also I noticed a lot of R&B & Hip-Hop acts love to work with a wide variety of producers instead of staying with just 2-3 for the whole album.
But of course the internet only dragged Beyonce simply because it's Beyonce.
Some of Gaga’s hits had a lot of songwriting credits, Applause being an example. Same with Ariana Grande.
And regardless, Renaissance had a lot of credits because it involved a lot of sampling. Ofc, other people don’t really care to know about that, it’s just another reason Beyonce is a talentless hack for them
Yeah but for overall credits few artists have more credits than Beyoncé does. I do not have any problem with this whatsoever (on the contrary, it shows that it’s collaborative effort and is pulling from all kinds of references that are rightfully credited) but I don’t know if we can pull the race card here as we don’t have many artists to compare her to.
Adele has stans?
Yes, her fans are nicknamed (and also described by those who know them as) “Wine Moms”.
This is so on brand though For some reason Adele has been giving wine mom energy since 19 all the way to 30 so

/uj also because of the obsession w underdog, lone wolf/them against the industry (when everyone else does the same) /rj Beyoncé industry plant
/uj obsessions with “white underdogs” like taylor swift …

uj/ At least she works with a variety of different collaborators each album and not the same 3 tired collaborators on a loop 🫠
Taylor found dead in a ditch after this drag
meanwhile Midnights found occupying all ten Top Ten spots on Billboard, while Middaissance found occupying the Bubbling Under Waitlist

Notice how the writing credits thing mostly pops up to drag Beyonce. It’s giving a word starting with r
