Is it safe to get a swab up your nose once a week?
That sounds irritating. Ouch.
It’s safer to have them not be employed at all...
There are anal probes too.
It doesn't actually have to go in that far. They've learned since the beginning of this whole thing
Tell that to the pro ER staff that was tickling my brain last month.
Not everyone got the memo, I guess
Yeah, I was gagging. I will say they were super pros and it was a scary situation... so I'll give them "overzealousness" in getting a proper test.
The spit tests are more common now. My last 2 tests were the spit kind, no nasal swab needed.
Federal and State Governments are making it mandatory. This will likely result in governments being very liberal and progressive for some time to come.
I just see it as more jobs.
Finally! Great news!
I still don’t understand how taking a proactive stance on community health makes you a liberal.
Conservatives are antivax now. Anyone that isn't antivax is a liberal. You have to keep up with the times.
>...Or Undergo Weekly Testing
At their expense I hope. I think it is something like $200 per test.
Both are super easy to do. Where I am at, getting the vaccine is actually way easier than getting tested. I only had to walk in to my pharmacy and I was vaccinated in about 10 mins. Getting tested takes a bit longer.
Needs to be at the employees expense. Tax payers shouldn’t have to pick up the tab for their idiocy.
NO. No "or". Enough of cow-towing to these walking biological weapons. Mandate it or GFOH.
Have them also pay for it. Their choices doesn’t have to be on tax payer dime. Selfish aholes
The weekly tests should be at the employees expense. Maybe they’ll be convinced if it costs them money.
I’m all for people getting a vaccine but damn…this approach is pretty intrusive and scary for what precedent it can set for forcing people to do things they don’t want to do.
Next thing you know, they will make vaccinations mandatory for attending school, getting certain jobs, etc. - and not just Covid, but polio, smallpox, whooping cough...
Oh wait, they ALREADY do that.
Nothing wrong with vaccines.
Just mandating them is a problem?
They don't have to. They also don't have to work there. Their choice.
Like a drug test?
Bootlickers LOVE to pee in the cup, but would rather die on a vent than admit trump bamboozled them. Bizarre
NYS doesn't drug test their employees. Not even when getting hired. If they suspect you are using drugs on the job they can send you to get tested, but that doesn't happen very often. Source: I work there
They can choose to get tested. I have to get tested for TB to teach. It isn't as often of course, but that's because TB isn't as prevalent.
Well they test for TB because the vaccine isn’t recommended widely here.
States have had the precednce to mandate vaccines since 1905 and the country has been just fine.
In [Jacobson v. Massachusetts](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jacobson_v._Massachusetts), the SC ruled that people can be mandatory vaccinated during a Pandemic.
>"in every well ordered society charged with the duty of conserving the safety of its members the rights of the individual in respect of his liberty may at times, under the pressure of great dangers, be subjected to such restraint, to be enforced by reasonable regulations, as the safety of the general public may demand"
[George Washington himself mandated smallpox vaccines for the Continental Army in 1777.](https://www.historyofvaccines.org/content/george-washington)
There probably aren't many things you can argue are more American than vaccine mandates.
We already have vaccine requirements for public schools and travel to certain areas. Not sure why the Covid vaccine is treated any differently. Plus it's not required, the alternative is to get tested on a cadence which seems pretty reasonable considering it's potentially deadly.
Thanks for the input u/No-Needleworker5429! Very generic username!
