No. If you read the description on the back, you'll see this is for "minor cuts, scraps and burns" and to consult a doctor before using on "deep or puncture wounds". A piercing is a puncture wound. Stick with sterile saline wound wash.

InnieRuler

This would probably cause a lot of irritation, I’d advise heavily against it

xegrid

Tbh i dont believe this is reccomended. Saline solution(wound wash/neilmed?) is what I was reccomended

Large-Fishstick

But could I use this? I couldn’t find any at my local store

rajmachawal333

If you live near a CVS/Walgreens type store, in the wound care section there is an equivalent called Wound Wash. Its usually pretty big and you’ll need Q tips or paper towels because it comes out like a jet stream but that’s another option

Large-Fishstick

Ok thanks😅

Affectionate-Panda20

I find it much easier (and cheaper) to use a baby nasal spray/mist. It’s still just saline solution. I use Boogie Saline Nasal Mist. It’s half the price of wound wash at my local stores and has a lower flow rate so it lasts longer.

Not recommended, anything that’s an antiseptic isn’t the best choice. Antiseptics kill all the microorganisms on the area, bad ones but also the “good” ones which are helping the piercing heal and by killing them you prolong the healing. Antiseptics should only be used if you’ve been somewhere unsanitary and want to prevent possible infection(pool), but not as the main aftercare which is sterile saline wash.

psilogoon

No, sterile saline only. No diy sea salt water either . Invest in proper aftercare . Neil med, h2oOcean, steriwash, etx

uwujustathrowaway

Do NOT use h2ocean spray. It’s got a bunch of additives in it that you don’t need and will only irritate the piercing. Any sterile saline wash with .9% saline and water works.

psilogoon

yeah I also avoid it but I keep hearing a lot of piercers more experienced than me telling me to suggest this since it is still isotonic apparently. Ur right though my gut says to avoid it so I retract my stAtement. No h2oOcean

Comprehensive_Law207

really? ive used h2ocean on all 13 of my piercings and never had infection and they heal super fast

Milkbby50

No! While the antiseptic compound of this product (benzalkonium chloride) is okay to clean wounds, the concentration is way too high. It's going to irritate the piercing. I'm assuming you're american since band-aid products aren't a thing in europe. Just stick to 0.9% sterile saline. Dont mix it yourself! Just buy it bottled and most importantly without additives! Preferably buy saline products that are designed for piercings or wounds as other saline solutions might have additives. Happy healing!

Famous_Run4157

Just stick with saline spray. 18 piercings and zero infections can attest to the power of saline.

Gus_tine

No ONLY saline

Seelebrennt

No, it'll dry the piercing out and cause it to get infected or reject.
