Those sushi's in Fry's made by Snowfox...oh man they are an explosion of flavors! Worth at least twice the asking price, I am never the sushi person but now I am thanks to those things.
Anybody been to Pizzeria Bianco downtown since the show aired on Netflix? How's the wait? Was thinking about going this weekend but if it's a zoo like it used to be years ago, maybe not.
Need some electrical advice. Power just went out in half of my house. Lights flickering, AC unit making noise but not working. Turned power off then back on at breaker box. Seems a couple breakers tripped and resetting does nothing. Anyone have a recommendation for an emergency person/company? Thanks!
First off, turn off all 240 v appliances. This includes an electric stove, drier, and the air conditioner. Running these could damage them.
Your house has three wires coming into it. Two wires are hot and one is common. It sounds like you lost connectivity to one of the hot wires since half of your house has power.
I recommend calling your power company and having them make sure it's not something wrong on their end first. It could be (and hopefully is) a problem with their equipment. Otherwise the problem is most likely in your panel.
Regardless, they can help you out with where to go from there.
You rock…thank you so much for the thought out response. I did call SRP and they had a tech out quickly who then said it was an issue for a different team. They also arrive quickly and now have four trucks here and dug out part of my back yard for some connection box.
People only complain about utility companies but as I sit here in complete darkness typing this I have nothing but admiration for the guys in my yard right now working to fix my power at 8:30 on a Friday night. I’ve offered them gatorades and to order pizza but they declined and have been hard at work.
No problem at all. I'm glad that it's getting taken care of.
Lineman get a lot of respect from me. Here in Arizona the environment is brutal during the summer, it's dangerous, and being on call sucks.
I'm glad you're getting it fixed, I figured it was an issue on their end.
Power back on at 9:15. Those dudes could not have been more helpful and kind. I sent a note to SRP about how much I appreciate the incredible service.
Hi - I’m looking for two tickets to the Lake Street Dive concert tonight at the Van Buren. Is anyone trying to sell theirs?
Because shit's fucked up everywhere and we can all use a laugh, I urge you to take the 43 seconds to watch this.
Trying to get an abandoned vehicle fee off my record. I have a letter stating my truck was a total loss (& not at fault) in 2019 and insurance kept the truck. Got a voicemail today saying it's not good enough. Anyone have any insight on anything I can do?
Go down to the DMV in person with all the documentation you have and speak to someone.
Anyone got an extra ticket for King Khan and BBQ show??
[Urban Ale Trail](https://dtphx.org/aletrail/) is this weekend! Come to downtown and let's get liquored!
Just noticed the sign on top of the US Bank tower is gone. Anyone know what happened?
Dang, now *both* of the 2 tallest buildings in the state are just gonna sit empty.
I’d love to hear about any seasonal pumpkin treats/drinks places are doing outside a PSL. I’m realizing I’ve only got a month left to try them and I love pumpkin
Urban Cookies. The regular and gluten free pumpkin cupcakes are both fire. Starting Tuesday they have a pumpkin marshmallow cupcake. Order ahead because they sell out every day.
I humbly request that, just for the month of October at least, can we divert our collective energies from "don't California my Arizona" to "don't pumpkin my cheesecake"?
We can do this, people.
no but i'm totally behind this. I prefer chai spice over pumpkin spice.
As long as we can still pumpkin our beer
Costco has a variety 24 pack of Elysian pumpkin beers. There's an imperial ale and stout that are really good, and a couple other ales that I haven't tried yet.
I don't think it's new, but this is the first year I've seen it here. Well worth picking up if you're into pumpkin beers.
Yeah, I'm not a beer guy. Go nuts there :)
But the best thing I make is my no bake pumpkin cheesecake bites :'(
No please I need the slice of spice. Make your own congealed custard how you wish at home.
"Make your own.."??
You seriously overestimate my abilities.
They have jello instant pudding mix ones lol.
You might still be overestimating :D
I like cheesecake a lot. And I still prefer the jello instant cheesecake variant. My wife gives me an unsettling look of pity mixed with contempt and thinks it must be gross because it's from a box. I promise you'll love it! Here's what I do: head to the grocery store and grab a box of store brand or Jello brand instant cheesecake mix. I also grab a pre-made graham cracker pie crust in the same aisle. Grab milk if you don't have it then bumble home and tear the box open. Pour the cheesecake powder into a bowl with the milk. It says to mix with a mixer but I've used both methods and see no difference in results. I just hand whisk it for a bit then pour it into the pie crust. The box also comes with a bag of graham cracker crumbles lest you're forced to melt butter and make your own crust. I never do that I just tear the bag open for extra crumbles all over the top. Throw it in the fridge for about an hour or two
I am curious about why the Colorado to AZ pipeline isn't talked about more
Is it because both states are similar?
We're here to focus on the cheesecake situation.
Scale. Like an order of magnitude more California's migrate to Arizona than Coloradoans.
From 2015 to 2019 it was 63k Californians and 13k Coloradoans that moved to the Phoenix MSA. So about half an order of magnitude difference.
If you look at it as a per capita thing Colorado is sending relatively more people here as a percentage of its population.
>Is it because both states are similar?
I don't think they're very similar.
I think we're closer to Colorado than to California
I'm more comfortable making fun of both the aforementioned groups.
Wu-tang and Nas were dope last night!
I went to the WholesaleSharks event last night at westgate and it was amazing! Did anybody here also attend?
I am definitely looking to attend more of these types of events so please let me know if there is anymore wholesale events coming up soon!
My Google-fu is failing me. Got a link to what it's all about?
Yes, here is a link where the tickets were available. You can also see lots of videos from the event on instagram @wholesalesharks
Have you been to an event like this before? It was my first time and I learned a ton.
No, I haven't.
Thought it was more of an outdoor/family event at Westgate. I see that it was more of a seminar at the hotel at Westgate.
Looks interesting. Glad you dug it.
Reminder that the deadline to register to vote is coming up. You can register here:
If you are moving, I recommend calling to see what the process for that is.
Thank you! My middle kid turned 18 on Sept 12.
I've texted her the link a few times, but this is a good reminder that I need to make sure that she's actually done it.
omg yes!!! she could have registered a little before she turned 18 also !! but yes let's get her involved!!
Happy Friday, y'all! What kind of mischief do you have planned for the weekend?
I believe the first weekend of the month you can get museum admission from some (or at least one) of the big banks of you're a card holder. So maybe look into that if you don't have plans.
I'm shooting for a shenanigans free weekend.
Idk, car engine light came on, has high voltage according to codes. Gonna stay inside
Great morning for a walk!
