I know you seem to be hesitant to make them yourself, but a 3/10 home pancake will almost always be better than a 10/10 takeout pancake.
If you can add water to instant pancake mix (I like the pearl milling company buttermilk) and pour batter onto a hot buttered skillet, you'll have a very good pancake without needing any cooking expertise. The only things you need to know are:
1. What temp to have the skillet at
2. When to turn the pancake
3. Consistency of the batter
All of these can be solved with trial and error, especially with instant mix that you can adjust the consistency of as you go.
For a fraction of the cost and just an hour of your time figuring out how to get the above right, your wife will be enjoying astronomically better pancakes, and the whole apartment will smell wonderful. You can even add the fillings/toppings you want and make her so many she begs you to stop.
This is all fair. I did not have the ingredients or time to make this happen this morning.
The carry out pancakes were pretty damn good and served my needs.
Green Eggs cafe and cafe lift are both popular for their pancakes. Also Dutch place in reading market is solid.
My favorite is gilchrists in Atlantic City which doesn’t help you.
Note of warning, green eggs pancakes are extremely large in portion and stupidly puffy with a ton of powdered sugar to the point it's basically a cake. If that's what you like, go right ahead.
You can’t carry out pancakes and expect them to be good. [This technique](https://www.seriouseats.com/light-and-fluffy-pancakes-recipe) has never failed.

My brother in Christ, make her pancakes at home. Butter that skillet up real good. Trust me this is the answer
I would agree with this. Takeout pancakes are going to be rubbery or mush by the time they get home.
They ended up getting home just fine
Well good! I'm glad to stand corrected.
Home made pancakes = best pancakes. Fresh hot and customizable. You can't best that.

I'll give Green Eggs Cafe a try!

The portion was SUBSTANTIAL. It was a little cake-like but my order didn't have too much powdered sugar.
Glad yours had a lot less powdered sugar than mine x'D but as long as you like it it's good enough
Dutch place is the best place. I miss it.
Cafe Lift.

I appreciate the entire recipe but I want to surprise my wife, not torture her.
