It's not stainless steel. You can see from the markings on the tube that it is EN 10210, which is low carbon structural steel. But just by the looks it is not stainless.

ShankThatSnitch

Smooth and round steps. Absolutely the worst ladder imaginable.....

Decky86

Nice for hands.. Shit for feet.

The_RockObama

Hey, that's what I call my brother. Good ol' Shit for Feet.

Meggston

I knew a kid in elementary school who took off his shoes in class one day, and it turned out, before school, he filled them with dog shit. We called him Shitty Feet until graduation. Note: kid was totally nurotypical. Apparently they checked after this incident and no one had answers as to why he did it.

The_RockObama

He did it so that on this day, you could make that comment.

thefirststrawhat

Is your brother handicapped too?

The_RockObama

No, he's kneecapped.

funnystuff79

Don't tend to put hands on the rungs

Explore-PNW

This person ladders! 🪜

andocromn

Actually... Fine for feet, shit for shoes

Ethab83

Well worst thing that happens is you get down faster. Seeing as this is for a fallout shelter. If the event comes you need to use the ladder getting down hurt is better than not getting down at all

howlongamiallowedto

Clearly you've never seen Colin Furze's YouTube channel. He laughs in the face of OSHA regulations. Or whatever it is they have in the UK.

ShankThatSnitch

I haven't, but who cares about regs. I would care about falling down a hole onto concrete instead.

thakkrad71

Colin is awesome. Wears a tie all the time.

howlongamiallowedto

The chaotic good artificer the world needs

notsgnivil-d

Yeah, but it’s okay, it’s a Safety Tie!

Forum_Layman

We have HSE

nowtayneicangetinto

It's all a matter of perspective. You see a horrible ladder, I see a perfect death trap.

ShankThatSnitch

Fair enough.

DroopyTrash

It's chins all the way down.

ShankThatSnitch

[Clang clang clang clang](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HPjJCVylFBo)

DroopyTrash

Damn right.

trolltruth6661123

a ladder made of spaghetti would be worse.

ShankThatSnitch

Edible ladders? What is worse about that?

Nu_Roman

Some grip tape would work nice

Viperlite

And don’t fall down the hole not covered by a door or safety guard when stumbling around that room at night.

marc8870

Go watch the full video on Colin Furze’s channel. He makes a new floor in that closet which is also the hatch to go down there

rachelpeapod

Excellent - last time I watched anything about this hole it was quite literally that, just a frankly terrifying hole in a cupboard 😂 Its nice to see the 'cave' with a lining too!

SunshineAlways

Hope they don’t get cold winter weather either.

flyflyflyfly66

He puts heating down there

TomtheMagician21

And it's gonna be cold

natsnoles

Why does he have this under his house?

Aenguru

He built a tunnel to his shed. Because YouTube.

deadline_wooshing_by

he's gonna extend it to go to his bunker

liamby136

Also to his front driveway for a car elevator.

Zawn-_-

He built it to the bunker first, no? I remember him having connected to the bunker then saying he was gonna dig to the house. Collin furze for anyone wondering. He builds stuff like iron man suits, flamethrowers, and jet engine scooters.

Option_Forsaken

Well this guy is definitely surviving the apocalypse

LizardCrimson

Hi guys, welcome to my minecraft let's play. Today we're gonna add a storage room to my house

NotThatGuyAnother1

It's Colin Furze's YouTube channel. OP was negligent in giving credit to the creator of the video.

Riquez64

He gets sponsored and they cover all material costs

Slurpee0815

Because he can.

AndyJobandy

He’s got more money than most simple folks could imagine having (not to say he’s not a genuine guy, but my head spins at the material cost he has

domin8r

Also, building crazy things like this is the reason he has a popular YouTube channel.

FreedomPaid

I mean, he got his start building a ring of death to ride a moped in.

Forum_Layman

Material costs: £0. It’s all paid for by sponsors

Paid-Not-Payed-Bot

> It’s all *paid* for by FTFY. Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in: * Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.* * *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.* Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment. *Beep, boop, I'm a bot*

[deleted]

Good bot

cakes42

This isn't even the craziest shit he's ever done lol. Not even close

Lucapi

He built a bunker underneath his back yard. I imagine this tunnel leads there.

phreaky76

Not yet. Still working on it. Only between the house and his shed, at the moment...

OkNeedleworker4762

Colin furze is his name, check out some of his vids. He is a legend, you wont regret it ;)

Isthisadriver

Oh God, you actually have no idea. Go check out his YouTube. It's actually super impressive.

goondarep

Round ladder rings seem like a bad idea. Edit: rungs* Thank you, that’s what I was thinking but not what I typed.

MkSp001

Rungs..

crocodilepockets

*rangs.

ihithardest

tredbobek

You rang, m'lord?

kewlhandlucas

Hello? Operator…

doolz717

Lol at all the safety concern comments. This dude has made knife belts, helicopter bikes, and screw driver tanks. This is probably the safest thing he's ever built

Bakonn

He also made a James Bond car for Top Gear

howlongamiallowedto

That was him? No wonder it actually kinda worked.

FriskyShadow15

Lmao it's so funny. This guy has made death traps with no fear. This ladder is nothing

desull

*but it's SMOOTH*

ChunkyDay

And Rouuund!!!

daxter304

I was thinking the same thing reading those comments haha

ddc9999

The difference is kids don’t accidentally ride his helicopter bike. A guest is liable to get seriously injured from stuff like this. It’s his place and even if it’s not to code he can sort of just do it (would be a pain come time to sell), but there’s a difference between making an isolated dangerous object and what are unintentional booby traps in your house.

biinjo

Spotted the “Silence, I’ll sue you!”-American.

ddc9999

Who said sue? I’m talking about kids and other people who don’t know better getting hurt. It’s literally why these codes exist. Would you want to have your friend’s kids over then find out one died falling down a trap hole? Downvote away. I don’t care. I’ll be the one adult in this thread.

Hudsonrybicki

I want to see the basement!

misterne

His name is Colin Furze. He built a bunker under his garden and is now tunneling to it from his shed and house. Definitely worth checking out his YouTube channel!

kmofosho

~~He's done now. He just connected it to his house. That's where the ladder is, in his kitchen.~~ Nvm I'm wrong

deadline_wooshing_by

nah, he's extending the tunnel so it goes to his bunker as well, it'll be done from above ground so it should go faster

jere535

He doesn't have the tunnel between shed and bunker yet so hes not done, also planning to dig a bit further towards the front of the house or something like that.

howshouldiknow__

CREDIT TO "COLIN FURZE" ON YOUTUBE!

go_sloe1484

He’s a good watch, I’ve been following him and this project and he does a good job of showing a cool concept with his underground bunker

Ashurb4nip4l

Some kid is going to die one day looking for juice...

dacjames

This is from Colin Furze. His kids will have to deal with giant screw tanks, rocket bikes, and a trebuchet big enough to throw a car. A ladder down to the tunnel is one of his safer projects!

plumcreek

Not to mention the triple bath (with slide!) that he made for his kids, and the catapult bed...

MkSp001

His kids are the inspiration for his inventions and are done with them in mind... They're not the average dumb kids..

pobodys-nerfect5

I'm also assuming that the entrance is going to be covered when not in use and Colin's pantry/closet will be used as it normally would be. Eventually he'll forget about the tunnel and in 20 years while renovating the house someone will come across the entrance and post it to reddit as a mystery

Doreian

It is. I watched the video where he finished it last week and it's a pantry again with a cover in the floor. He went with a London underground theme

MikoSkyns

Link for the interested. There are numerous vids in the series and there doesnt seem to be a playlist. https://www.youtube.com/c/colinfurze/videos

MkSp001

Colin Furze is a legend!!! Know that he had no formal training in engineering or architecture and was formerly a plumber..

PM_ME_UR_LOTO

Yeah we can tell.

gsf32

Elaborate please?

PretzelsThirst

He made a smooth polished round ladder. Also no goggles

Brainrants

Yeh, no safety goggles and he didn’t even use the alternative “safety squint”

cakes42

That's why he wears his safety tie. He literally calls it that

cyberninja979

you cant die in the safety tie

howlongamiallowedto

He's still alive 🤷‍♂️

HalbeardTheHermit

Knows his way around pipes

schizeckinosy

The ladder is a death trap

gsf32

Thanks

biinjo

Jezus christ at least provide the credits even though it’s super obvious: Colin Furze

IDcfoxco

Reddit safety police have entered this thread

KyotsuNagashiro

To people talking about safety yeah he knows hence why in his video he says he wants to replace it with something better. This was a quick and easy way to have custom ladder for the space. This is meant for use during construction and possibly a bit after he's done until he figures out what to do with it. Oh and he has whole system to pull things out of there so if someone gets stuck they could still be lifted out fairly quickly. Even a minecart down there to move from one end to the other if needed. Safest thing ever? No, but safe for private use to someone who is familiar with how to use it? Yeah mostly.

ckern82

If this were actually stainless steel, which it isn’t, that would be a $1000 ladder

KyotsuNagashiro

I mean yeah bur he never claims it's stainless steel only the OP does falsely?

Smedlington

I love Furze but not a chance ladder 2.0 will be safer! Be a greased fireman's pole, or some kind of hoist strangle-trap, no doubt.

deadline_wooshing_by

i'm hoping for a lift designed as a toilet

TheLatvianPrince

That’s an expensive ladder!

bhp126

It puts the lotion in the basket.

itsnotthenetwork

I'm disappointed he didn't put a slide down into his cave system

chiefbushman

I think what deserves more attention that a ladder is the enormous shelter/basement/war room he’s got under his house?

Callec254

... So what's actually down there?

corruptspectre8

Please credit Colin Furze on YouTube, he makes much more crazy shit than this. This ladder leads to a tunnel under his house, that leads to a bunker. That he built. Under his house.

jeefer123

Surely Colin will engineer an elevator at some point in the near future!!!

haveacupcakeluv

Watching him haul that dirt and stone out with plastic buckets for days and days taught me true dedication, I recommend watching some of the videos if you haven't!

Blurgas

I think he's been working on that tunnel for 3 years now

hubaloza

Regurgitating other people's content without at least shouting out were people can go and watch it to support the original content creator is pretty scummy, this is Colin Furze and his YouTube channel is of the same name and he has great content regarding this and the rest of the tunnel structure he's built by hand to his shed, house and bunker, he also does a lot of other great projects and is worth the time to check out.

94212

No safety glasses and opens his eyes wider while shavings of metal disperse everywhere. ... Nice.

altuser99

A fire pole would be better.

Haunting_Ad_6021

Till you have to leave...

Adbam

A fire / stripper pole*

bolderdashery

I’m more interested in why there’s an underground tunnel in the man’s house. Stainless steel fabricated torture chamber?

MisterSippySC

Not wheel chair accessible

Robcrook101

Tunnel, Tunnel, Tunnel!!

dagr8n8

sick

Jmanmyers

Batman begins

fluffyasacat

Not wearing safety glasses when using a forstener bit to cut a hole on tube steel is a choice.

diabolicdark

and a firefighter pole on the front?

_Kyokushin_

Colin Furz is the shit.

RenKyoSails

Why is he not wearing safety glasses?!?!?!? Last thing a guy who puts round rungs on a ladder needs is his eye amputated after getting an untreated metal shard in his face. Gosh damn people, a basic safety pamphlet goes a long way! Let's not even go into his improper usage of gloves, the ones he used look like black nitrile gloves, definitely not actually protecting your hands.

MkSp001

Lol, the answer to your question is that he wears a safety tie... It's part of his thing.. And yes, the neck tie he wears I'm referring to...

howlongamiallowedto

Colin Furze is immune to danger because of his tie. Obviously you're not a professional, or you'd know that.

Steakman1971

It is cool now, but when you are older and your knees don't work so well, the ladder will be useless. I think he should build an elevator. I want one in my house :)

AndyJobandy

The house entrance shaft is easily changed in the future to a lift, he goes over it in the series

MkSp001

All he does is for his kids...

Steakman1971

It's cool. I will have to watch more of this guy. I love watching stuff like this.

quizzicalmoose

Extremely dangerous please don’t put this in your home lol

AndyJobandy

Those are poor people problems. Source: am poor

DeeNYC45

Why isn't there stairs???

AndyJobandy

Makes an extremely difficult project extra extremely difficult.

aldsar

?? Spiral staircases are a thing and would be perfect for this tight spot.

Crackracket

They really wouldn't it's a hatch barely wider than a person

howlongamiallowedto

Yes, it's certainly less of a pain in the ass to weld together a perfect spiral staircase that fits inside a closet and still have it remain functional as a closet than it is to build a quick and dirty ladder under the floor /S

AndyJobandy

Not this right of space

c4pet0wn

My ocd told me to replay this video many times 😌🫶

jjman72

What’s in the tunnel?!!

MkSp001

It's an entire underground bunker with access hatches and corridors...

nunovyabidness

Maybe, Who is he keeping down there is the question.

MkSp001

It's an entire man cave..

Trollberto__

When Furze dies, his son is gonna inherit a house similar to the Hello Neighbor house.

T3chHippie

Credit goes to Colin Furze on Youtube since I don't see it mentioned in the title or description. He's building a tunnel system under his house that leads to the bunker he built a few years ago. Yes it's real, and no, he's not crazy.... Well he might be crazy but he's a very creative and hilariously dangerous dude.

gofinditoutside

Not satisfying in anyway. Mildly infuriating.

HangryBeard

Forget the ladder. Dude has a legit batcave.

getyourcheftogether

Nice and deadly once you get that first step and fall to your death because it's FUCKING ROUND

ElMetchio

I thought the same!! Why not flat??

howlongamiallowedto

How fucking incompetent are you that you can't balance your foot on a rounded surface that doesn't move? OSHA has made you weak.

getyourcheftogether

You go ahead and you try and find ladders in any workplace or anywhere for that matter with smooth rounded rungs. There's not even a texture applied to it hell I would have at least given them some credit if they put some grip tape on the top. So stop talking out your ass

rmbl88

This lad ladders

PapiSombras

Colin Furze, YouTube. He’s making awesome work

Element_Liga

Just reuploaded a dudes yt short from the other day. It takes a different type of person to farm karma with little effort and enjoy it

Dilly277

Youtuber is Colin Furze

Pretend_Employee_780

Now he can’t close a hatch? What kind of apocalypse do you think you will be having?

OGCelaris

Welding on carpet...

hujkkjji

Perfect for your feet to slip and bash your teeth

A massive tunnel system leading to an underground bunker - go check out Colin Furze on youtube!!!

NobleRotter

I'd prefer stairs or a lift into my sex dungeon

jadeeyedcalico

You just tripped my fear of heights

gofinditoutside

Having to reach across a large opening like this to then descend on round rungs? This is a shit design and an accident waiting to happen.

MorphinLew

I just want to know WHAT THE FUCK IS DOWN THERE

howlongamiallowedto

Toys.

MorphinLew

Do we all float down there?

howlongamiallowedto

Once he's got a couple helium tanks down there, sure.

MorphinLew

Then call me Georgie

schizeckinosy

Fireball Tool square!

crystalistwo

Is he making the house from Martyrs?

fakkov

Wouldn’t you want the rungs to go through the struts rather than relying on a weld to hold your weight?

Top_Excuse1680

Good ole Colin

Environmental-Win836

I’m more impressed by the fact that this man has a tunnel.

Big_Moose6

What a thrill

heavyusername2

what's the song? Shazam is so shit sometimes it can't get it

jpwanabe

Is this the guy that's building a secret tunnel under his property?

Conscious-Onion1166

Where’s his tie?

mholt9821

When is he going to finish the tunnel. Its killing me, i look for it like 4 times a week on youtube. I needs it! Its so entertaining watching this guy build stuff. Him connecting his bunker to his house, shed, and work shop is so cool. I want to be his friend.

mindcontrol93

Serial Killer Room

Deadzoe10

Tunnel?

Jakesa3456

Gotta love the furze

VanillagGorilla

Next I'd do fire poll and fulfill child hood dreams

My fam too clumsy for this shit

I wanna slide down that ladder like I'm in a submarine lol

BourbonBison2

Idk why, but I read "slide"....very disappointed
