It's hard to say, it very well might have been mutual. At least in interviews Toney said all the right things and never showed any signs of discontent and so did Daboll. Of course it's easy to speculate on why they traded him and while some of it may have some truth to it, it's just possible that Daboll doesn't like Toney's freelancing style and prefers reliable WR that have better practice habits. That's as much a guess as any narrative though.
