Growing up in Irvington in the ‘60’s I remember the trolley tracks up past Irvington center (the trolleys were no longer running by that time). Also, they still had police on horse back at that time.
I wish we had focused on more of this type of large scale sustainable interconnected public transportation. Instead of cars. But you know what they say ; wish in one hand and shit in the other, see which fills up faster.... Spoiler; it's the shitty hand ✋👌
man i know limited trollys down the middle of the road are just about the least efficient use of space and public transportation but man are they cool. old pics of down passaic are similarly cool.

I really do think that moving forward with cars in our society really effectively screwed Americans out of a sustainable future.

My dad was born and raised in East Orange. He likely ride on this trolley. Very cool.
