3/14, Pi day is their next scheduled match up. The Sixers will be playing in Orlando the night before and flying back home to host the Nuggets. The Nuggets will host the Raptors on 3/12 and travel to Philly. I will be taking the day before and after off from /r/NBA.

mamaljurray

Sixers better rest embiid in orlando

secretlypooping

Embiid obviously ducking mo bamba

PlausibleFan

Salty_Minnesota

What, you don’t want to watch these two huge dudes go at it? Really beat each other up?!

donotnut459

Let’s see who’s the boss of this gym

SubcooledBoiling

Definitely would like to see they beat each other off

mngo

A sloppy fat boy and a 600 lb man? Oh my...

53K

Wait, which one is which?

Im_a_Knob

Neinhaltt

Who pitches and who catches?

diffaadiffa

They would really fuck each other

ihateaquafina

lolq12345

/u/JokersRWildStudios and /u/PooInspector should fight to the death

JokersRWildStudios

I don’t want to fight that literally piece of shit inspector

IdRatherBeLurking

u scurred?

Llama_Sandwich

Crazy to think I was at the game where Jokic hit the buzzer beater to win it and never knew that seeing those 2 play against each other would become so rare.

CornColonels

They’re saving the next matchup for the 2023 finals

gustriandos

*2022

EderIsAGod

This is a bigger travesty than KD and lebron not facing each other

ChiefKeefIsGoat

I want to see them go at it again so bad lol its been too long. Literally my two favorite players in the league

RealPrinceJay

Matchup this season will be huge for MVP narrative Maxey seems to feast against the Nuggets tho so he may steal the show for us haha

IdRatherBeLurking

Wonder why that is!

Ecoeconomic

Covid and an injury. One game last year was in the middle of his 10-game injury, the other was the famous "Seven Sixers" game where we had to fill up our roster with G-Leaguers and rested Joel and Ben in a near certain loss. This year, he was out in protocols himself. You can blame him for that one game, but I dont think it was really reasonable to expect him to play that game.

IdRatherBeLurking

Look at their career matchups. We're lucky if Embiid plays once a season.

Ecoeconomic

Yeah, he has missed 5 out of Jokic' 10 games against the Sixers. 3 of which I explained already. Part of it is that Embiid misses more games with his playing style, but the main thing is just different conferences. Joel has massively improved this year in energy conservation it seems though. Since end of November (when he came back from protocols) he has missed only the 2 games against the Grizzlies and played amazingly in the others (including 3 B2Bs).

IdRatherBeLurking

I hope he can find a way to stay healthy.

fresh_of_breath_air

Man, seeing how both perform below average against each other, i wonder how they do against gobert

honeyspring

Brother, I have 47.

fresh_of_breath_air

I don't understand this reference

honeyspring

https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/pxwvvh/jamal_murray_shares_a_story_of_jokic_trash/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3 Edit: tried to fix the link, hope it works

fresh_of_breath_air

That's fucking hilarious

[deleted]

Embiid duckin the fade

DanteMustDie666

Embiid dodges many games. Last year before injury Embiid was skipping games due soreness etc and then he missed Jokic . Like he missed Memphis game now ? So yeah thats why they keep missing each other ,Jokic himself plays all lol ( but he should really rest some to keep gas for playoffs)

SemRinke

Winner takes the MVP trophy post game

PooInspector

Embiid is a great player but he will always live in the shadow of BIG CHUNGUS. Jokic is 🐐

The_Taskmaker

so cringe

PlausibleFan

Listen to yourself

honeyspring

One thrives under pressure, the other is a shrinking violet (stat-padded against sub-par teams for a month, but decided to sit out tonight’s game against MEM and Steven Adams).

bronet

Bro the Nuggets aren't playing til tomorrow, and it's against the Wolves, not Grizzlies. For real though, stop acting like both aren't insanely good players. Just appreciate that the current top 2 or 3 best guys in the league are big men with wildly different skill sets

honeyspring

I didn’t say anything about their skill sets (and I totally agree, both are insanely good). Just wanted to point out that there’s also a difference in intestinal fortitude. One player tends to step up and delivers under pressure, the other tends to shy away from it. Now, Embiid may have learned/grown from past disappointments and may be ready to lead his team to the ECF (and beyond), we will find out in a few months. I’m more confident in Jokic’s battle-tested game and ability to elevate it during playoffs. Obviously, he will need Murray and at least one more teammate to step up in order to go all the way, but this year’s playoffs seem to be relatively open.

bronet

But that's not true, is it? Embiid is a great playoffs performer, and Jokic got destroyed defensively against the Lakers (however, he is still a great playoffs performer)

Infidel447

Embid ducks Jokic...it is known.

atlwellwell

Did they rest embiid to take on jokic?

JokersRWildStudios

I remember Charles Bassey shut down Jokic earlier this year. And people want to call Jokic an MVP candidate

SnooCheesecakes6100

Yeah he injured him. After that didn’t take a shot. Still finished with 30.

spizcraft

Jokic missed four games with that injury, and the Nuggets went 0-4 without him, so Bassey has literally done the most damage to Jokic’s MVP chances

LogenMNE

We won against Indy

spizcraft

That was a week before this happened

JokersRWildStudios

WHO INJURED HIM WTF? This is mental gymnastics now.

sombor_shuffle

Yeah he sure shut him down. I guess a 30/10/7 on 10 of 17 from the field game is now a bad game for Jokic 🤣 but he did manage to injure Jokic's wrist in that game so cheers to him for that i guess

GoAvs14

Hey, remember that full season Embiid played?

Niku-Man

Most of the top players haven't played full seasons recently. They play when it matters tho

GoAvs14

> Most of the top players haven't played full seasons recently. Your has yet to come even close to a full season. My sloppy fat boi has missed about the same amount of games in the last five years as yours has this year.
