My top three ride or die in no particular order: * Clinique Almost Lipstick Black Honey * Fresh Sugar Lip Balm in Honey * Charlotte Tilbury Superstar Lips in Pillowtalk These have been my top for years. Repurchased over and over. I've tried others, but nothing else comes close.

I aspire to be at this point. I'm going through my lippie collection right now and figuring out what I actually wear. Out of the ones I own, I'm realizing I really just use the same few.

Does the Fresh lip balm have a honey taste or just a honey scent?

I don't find it really flavoured. I personally think all the Fresh Sugar Lip Balms have the same fragrance and its just slightly lemony to me. Doesn't smell like honey at all.

I'm going to pick my favourite shade from my top 10 formulas, although if I really had to pick 10 maybe I'd pick more than one of the same formula. The Wet n Wild Liquid Catsuit High Shine is a formula dupe. 3. **Bourjois Rouge Rouge Velvet the Lipstick in Nohalicious** \- one of my favourite matte formulas, it's a shame I can't seem to find these anywhere in Canada anymore. These feel extremely creamy on application, but then set down and are very long-lasting. 4. There's a very wide shade range, this particular one is a reddish nude. 6. Loreal Brilliant Signature is a close formula dupe, and Romand has a lot of great stains that are also similar, but I still love this warm nude shade. 7. [**Shu Uemura Matte Lipstick**](https://www.reddit.com/r/swatchitforme/comments/nke02d/shu_uemura_lipsticks/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) **in Rumble Cinnamon** (BG 975) - somewhat similar to the Bourjois, these feel creamy during application, then set down. In my linked post, I explain the different Shu Uemura lipstick formulas. 9. **Shiseido Visionary Gel in Shizuka Red** \- again, these are creamy lipsticks that set down to a slightly tacky finish that mostly looks matte, and isn't drying. There are a lot of gorgeous shades (lots of different undertones of red), I also really like Rose Muse, Woodblock and Streaming Mauve. 10. **Revlon Glass Shine in Glazed Mauve** \- feels like a lip oil once applied, moisturizing and good if you prefer a thinner formula (as opposed to the Tarte Maracuja lips, for example, which are very thick).

Shiseido gel lipsticks are wonderful, unique and definitely deserve some more love!

I feel like low stock for Chanel lip products at retailers is fairly common in general. I hope that doesn't happen though. The rouge duos don't seem overly popular on reddit or social media though so I wonder who buys them. It's my go to for any events, so satisfying when you take a drink and it doesn't transfer or move 😌

That one is difficult to describe. I'd say it's a neutral-warm yellow brown with subtle pink undertones. I have it swatched in my history. Because the formula isn't opaque though it leans a little more pink/mauve on me.

It's quite smooth and glides across just like a lip balm (hence the name) but it's not as moisturizing as a lip balm would be. Color payoff is also quite sheer with the shades I have.

IMO it is not completely clear - on me it leaves a sheer slightly milky pink glaze that's not white which is why I love it so much. I've never found anything like it so this is an exciting find for me!

Haha because I haven't bought a lot of non-Glossier makeup lately! Generation G (I shorted to Gen G) is the lipstick you are talking about and def among my favorites; I'm also obsessed with that blotted matte look. :) The other ones that I'm aware of (but haven't personally tried) that people say gives similar vibes is the Givenchy Sheer Velvet Matte Lipstick, Bobbi Brown Crushed Lipstick, Saie Lip Blur, and Burt's Bees Matte Stick.

The stick is thinner/lighter and works great under lipstick IMO. The pot is thicker/more occlusive, so I use it as an overnight mask.

Honestly the formula is really similar. I would say the sheer slick is slightly better at not adhering to dryness and the hydrating core shine has a weird smell and those are the only differences. I would choose the sheer slick over the core shine!

I felt like that when I first got it. It took some practice to get it to apply evenly. Applying with the doefoot applicator and then patting in with a fingertip is my usual method.

What is the KimChi Chic formula like?

It's a cream lipstick that's more matte than a typical cream. It's comfortable on my lips though -- I generally don't wear matte lipstick. It's very opaque. I bought Woot Woot because I thought it was going to be a mauve. On me it's a weird 90s greige color instead.

How similar is Romand Pomelo Skin to Etude House Vanilla Cream?

I swatched them as I own both - pomelo skin is peachier and glossy, vanilla cream is more rosy and the finish is matte. I love both. They are quite similar (how to say... Same lightness? Like tonally they are the same vibrancy but with slightly different color variations but on a black/white scale of saturation they are the same. Not sure how to describe)

How do you use the Mac prep and prime?

Not who you asked, who may use MAC P&P differently than I do, but I apply to the circumference of my lips first, making sure to go onto the outer edges of my lips, then fill in the middle. I then wait a few. moments until I feel that the P&P has changed from slippery in texture to more tacky, then I apply whatever lip color products over as usual. I find it makes more drying formulas like MAC Retro Matte more comfy while making creamier ones last a bit longer or be more durable than without.

I apply it the same way like a lip balm. I give it a few minutes and then apply the lipstick. I have noticed that most of my creamy lipsticks feather on my right side of the lips. With this I don’t notice that issue. Also liquid lipsticks last longer with this.

Could you review the two Vioeltte fr lip products please?

The balm I find is matte but not dry or drying, and somehow it seems to give a blurring effect on any lip lines. It doesn’t feel sticky or goopy and it’s perfect IMO for days when you want a little something more than Chapstick. I find that Bêtise is an MLBB for me, though I have already pigmented lips. (Calisson looks beautiful too but I worry it would be a concealer-lip situation for me.) The Coeur infidèle is a liquid that dries down to a long-lasting matte but not dead finish. You can build up the colour too if you want it to be on the redder side of pink or sheer out the edges for a softer look. I feel the colour is a fun alternative to red (though I also have and love the red version too) yet is still grown-up. It also doesn’t make your teeth look yellowish either.

Could you compare the Roen lip balm and the Rare Beauty gloss?

Of course! Overall, both are thinner than a typical gloss, less sticky and more hydrating. The Roen one is even thinner, has a minty scent and truly feels like a liquid lip balm. The Rare beauty one feels a liiittle bit thicker and more pillowy, it’s also a little bit sticky but just a little. They both are similar in color and are practically a mlbb!

Hi! Sorry for the late reply. I’d say yes and no. It’s similar as in neither of them are sticky or goopy, however while the NYX one is a little thinner but very evenly pigmented, I find the KIKO to be a thicker texture that sometimes is a little harder to even out. Also the NYX one feels more comfortable, more balmy and I can even put in the more inside part of my lips, while the KIKO formula has a tendency to emphasize dryness (mostly other shades though), but wears longer.

What is the formula like for th Byredo lipstick and the Hourglass lip stylo?

The Byredo lipstick: it's a satin finish. Heavy, thick formula, and it lasts pretty well. It has I guess microglitter in it, so it feels a tiny bit gritty, but it's not too noticeable. Hourglass Girl Lip Stylo: I love this formula! It lasts quite well; much better than Chubby Sticks. Very comfortable, hydrating, and emollient. Easy to mix different shades.

What is the formula like for the Maybelline lip crayons? Is the Rare Beauty lipstick formula similar to the Lisa Eldirdge lipstick formula?

It's like a creamy matte, it's very different from those lipsticks as it's longer lasting, especially compared to the rare beauty one which I have to reapply fairly often. I wore them when I was working in the hospital during covid and they stayed on despite all the masks, there was some transfer but it doesn't come off completely.

Safes my lips from the drying Lipcote. 6- MAC St. Marks Yellow lipstick. To mix and layer under lipsticks to make them warmer and brighter. My skin has warm bright undertones (pure spring) so this yellow gives my lipcolours an extra edge. Can you please review the NIOD product?

Yes ofcourse! Besides direct lip plumping it has a longer term volume increasing effect by stimulating production of Hyaluronic acid in the lips. My lips are noticeably fuller in a natural way, lipcreases are less deep, they are more hydrated (I need lipbalm 2x vs 4x a day), lipcolor is a bit redder. Effects show after 2-4 weeks. It’s a thin serum, so you still need a lipbalm. I apply a tiny drop to my pink, apply it while staying within the lipborder and avoiding the corners of my mouth. It causes temporary warmth and redness. I don’t care for the direct plumping effect, so I use it before bed with an ointment. Note that there may be an adjustment phase of 1-2 weeks with initial irritation dryness redness peeling. Works very well for me, bottle lasts more than a year. I repurchase during Deciem’s November sitewide sale with 23% off.

When you say warmth do you mean it has a tingling sensation? If yes how long does that feeling last? Is there a minty scent?

For me it feels like a warm glow and temporary redness for 10 minutes, no tingling. It has no fragrance or flavor. You could check the Deciem website for reviews, maybe others have mentioned tingling. If I remember correctly, the initial warmth was mentioned frequently

It’s like an amped up tinted lip balm for me! Similar to the Bobbi brown one but a little more pigmented. Still blends out to a pretty sheen with a purple glow. I highly recommend it! I never see surratt talked about on here but it’s such a fantastic brand.

What is the Gucci liquid matte formula like?

It feels similar to MAC Powderkiss liquid lip in terms of fluffiness initially, but thinner as I spread it out. It is a little sheerer than liquid lips of a few years ago, but I actually like that quality because I like doing a matte blotted lip with it. Also, it stays on better than MAC PK liquid lip. Comparing the Gucci liquid matte against Maybelline SuperStay Ink... again, it's sheerer but I think the staying power of the Gucci is probably 85-90% of the Maybelline. The Maybelline is also quite a bit stickier. I don't think everyone would find the Gucci worth the money, but I specifically wanted a red that would be matte and not fussy to wear. Hope this helps!

the glowy balm is thinner and great for applying over other lip product on the go., the lip mask is for overnight to heal the lips and its thicker so it stays on all night. the glowy balm dissapears fast and is more of a greasy(not a disgusting grease but just like a thin oil) feel but not sticky and comfy. they smell so good too amuse dew tint is very watery and thin compared to other lip tints ive tried. it has more of a glass like finish than Romand and stays more juicy as well. the only thing i dont like is how strong the scent is. I was okay with it at first but as i use it the scent and taste is starting to bother me. same with YSL. the YSL tastes bitter while amuse taste super sweet. so they are opposite in flavor. the Amuse smell like artificial fruity peaches and YSL smellls like cologne lol YSL and Amuse are very similar in texture/shine but I feel the stain is better on the Amuse.

The formula for the petal Bouche liquid lipstick is similar to your traditional liquid lipstick, it has a powdery feel. And your lips may need some extra babying with lip scrubs and overnight lip masks. I love the longevity of it though. The Songbird lipgloss felt a bit creamier than the PMG lip gloss. For lip balms, my number 1 is the One Thing Lip Essence ($4.58 on YesStyle). It is plumping, sooths any chapped skin without being goopy, and I notice a slight plump without any hot/cold sensation. Squeeze tube. It's amazing. Second is my DHC lip balm (pink tube) but that feels more goopy and occlusive that the One Thing Lip Essence. I highly HIGHLY recommend it. Great under or on top of lipsticks. Lipsticks: Bobbi Brown Crushed Lipstick in Sazan Nude. I asked my husband if he liked my lipstick and he said he couldn't see it. My perfect nude color. Etude Fixing Tint in 08 Dusty Beige. Great formula that doesn't clump on the natural dry spots I have like other liquid lipsticks.

Not at all. It doesn't smell citrusy despite the bergamot oil, so I doubt there's much bergamot in it. Could you compare the Victoria Beckham and Lisa Eldridge lipstick formulas?

The Lisa Eldridge is more balmy and slippy. The VB one kind of reminds me a little of the Merit lipstick formula... a bit more stiff but still a sheer, balmy formula that can be built up. The shade Pose is just *chef's kiss* though.

This Pat McGrath gloss is... Fine. If you're looking for something truly sparkly that wears well, you truly won't be disappointed! But it is *grainy* - you can definitely feel all the little glitters on your lips. And those glitters don't love to leave at the end of the day, which definitely is a small barrier to entry, imo 😅 The Makeup Forever pencil is my favorite formula of lip pencil of all time!! Both the MAC and MUFE pencils are wooden pencils and have to be manually sharpened. I'd say that they are both a little stiffer of a pencil formula because they are wooden pencils, but because of that they really stay put. The MAC is slightly more stiff and doesn't really blur the way that the MUFE does - I can really get a diffused lip with the Makeup Forever that I have to work hard to do with the MAC (which isn't just a color difference - I've tried many MAC and MUFE pencils in my time). If Nightmoth weren't such a unique color, I'd just have MUFE pencils.

How does the Merit and Glossier formula compare to each other?

Mm for me the Ultralip is a little inconsistent with the formula. I have it both in Trench and Cache* (the orange one) and I find the orange one dries quickly on my lips and the color is patchy in comparison to Trench which is more of a little thinner than satin lipstick. I found the Merit Signature Lips are a bit more consistent between the colors. The formula is thinner and more emollient, but the pigment payoff is impressive. Between satin and sheet, this formula leans satin despite the ultra-thin texture.

Very similar, all thin buildable satins. The VB is the most emollient, and the LE luxuriously lucent formula is actually the sheerest (although I only own the shade painterly).

The formula is similar to Just a Tint but it is more opaque and slippery and it has a different scent. --- FUN NOVELTY, BUT PROBABLY WONT BUY AGAIN 8. Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick - Black Cherry I usually wear just a dab of this on top of clear lip balm. Worn alone, it is cool toned purple berry. This also works great as a cream blush for the "Im Cold" makeup look. 9. Various Nyx Lip Liners- I like that these pencils have a soft wood that sharpens easily. I have 3-4 browns that pull way too cool on me so they are used as eyeliners, Neutral Pink that is too pink for my tastes, and Cabaret that is a nice burgundy. I like the soft formula of these, but I probably wouldnt pick these colors again. 10. Maybelline Ultimatte Slim - More Rust I bought this after tossing the following due to age: Maybelline Superstay Ink in Globetrotter, Maybelline Superstay Crayon in Rise to the Top, and Maybelline Made for All in Spice for Me. More Rust is definitely a cousin color to those, but I am finally admitting to myself that I just... dont wear red lipstick and thats okay. -- In general, I think I have finally realized that Im just not into wearing statement lips (but I love the look on others!!) so I should just stick to some sheer peachy nudes and a BB Crushed Cranberry and call it a day. After all, if I feel the urge to wear a fuschia lipstick I can just use a fuschia eyeshadow and some clear lip balm to get the look the one time, and then move on. Rinse and repeat for pink, black, red, orange, brown, etc.
