Beautiful map. I absolutely love it. However, I am curious about the series of "Name" towns around Callis Sinde. Was that on purpose or were those just missed or are unnamed still. Just curious
Thank you so much:) And you have eagle eyes. Yes, they are there on purpose. I used this section of my map to test out elements, and this small settlement type with the generic “name” indicates small towns/hamlets.
You’ll see for the most part they are unnamed. Though there are some in the south with given names.

Sorry for misunderstanding your initial question. In Affinity Photo I created a brush layer, and added effects. It’s a bit involved, but perhaps I can make a tutorial. Once you have everything set though, it’s pretty easy:)
This is a nation of seven kingdoms who’ve banned together (think the U.K.) They aren’t interested in colonizing, but like the Vatican City, they seek to bring other countries to their faith as well as offer aid to countries in need freely (UN), drawing upon their vast natural/ trade wealth and expertise in various fields. When allowed, they will try to establish something akin to embassy/trading post/mission within a square kilometer track of land.

What do the different icons mean for the towns/cities?
It looks amazing by the way. I like the heightmap version. Looks like a National Geographic pull-out. So realistic!
I’ll share my legend in another post but... The white ones are cities. Gray/spiky ones are fortifications/ garrison cities. Yellow circles indicate regional capitals. The yellow square is the main capital. The multicolored one is for a living city.
I see a lot of potential for hydro power :-D
Lots. It’s one of the countries major industries.
Wow, I don't have any questions but I wanted to say I absolutely love your style of map, it's incredibly believable!
You are too kind. It was my goal to make it at least somewhat believable, that you think it is as good as it is makes me happy.

nice. what's the grey represent?
Countries that directly neighbor the country of interest. It’s perhaps not needed, it’s simply stylistic.
Gray white contrast very good
Thank you for your support:)
