Backstory. Seasoned edh player and my power level is way to high even in my casual jank for the group so I set myself some challenges. Lower the bar, commons n uncommons only, only tap dual lands. But bring some spice.
So I built a band of birds. Birds of a feather. Water of ducks back. The flock off deck.
I don't know where it stands. How would you feel as a new player going against this. Input is needed
[[Soraya the falconer]] who was ret con from falcons to birds.
This is some Lawful Good shit if I’ve ever seen it. Intentionally kneecapping yourself with this wholesome boy is a 10/10. Also any day you get to teach someone how banding works is a good day.
So, if I understand banding, it switches who assigns blockers and combat damage?
I'm gonna call it chaotic good because it took me a while to figure that out, and banding would make new players ask all the right questions to suss out how combat works.
I think you're going to be in for a rough match. Mono W is ussaly one of the harder decks types to build even without the extra restrictions.
That said I'd try for a go wide approach. Token producers like [Battle Screech],
[[Bloodline Pretender]] for a big beater,
[[Soulcatchers' Aerie]] is a must, [[Rootborn Defenses]] board wipe resistance,
[[Inheritance]] for card draw, [[Terrain Generator]]/[[expedition map]]/[[Gift of Estates]] for limited ramp.
>Banding I'm pretty sure you are a Monster on the alignment chart. If you bring a Mutate deck next week, that will confirm it. :)
4 player pod. One player on banding one player on mutate tribal one player on top tier cedh deck and one new player with a precon
Have fun explaining banding! 🤓
Making a print out lol
Banding isn't that complicated, you can explain it in two sentences
Chaotic Evil. Why would you inflict banding on new players like this?
Honestly, aside from the banding, that looks pretty fun. Maybe give the newbies a printout with reminder text of how banding works?

As someone who played exclusively from like 95 to 2000, I don't get the hate for banding.
As someone who started playing a year ago, I don’t get why banding would even be hated.
I can’t believe you are bringing your Reserved List, pay to win cards to a new playgroup.
Neutral Good - borderline chaotic good.
The neat thing is that as they level up, you can level up your deck with Kangee, Ishai, etc.
So, if I understand banding, it switches who assigns blockers and combat damage? I'm gonna call it chaotic good because it took me a while to figure that out, and banding would make new players ask all the right questions to suss out how combat works.
My friends and I joke about determining the power level of our decks by how many homelands/fallen empire cards are in it.

Watch “the birds” for inspiration.
Banding. Dear lord. New players will have nervous breakdowns. Old players don’t understand that shit.
