And if Blacklance Paragon counts as removal, what about Brazen Borrower? It doesn't have deathtouch, but a 3/1 can trade with ~70% of the creatures in the format. Also, does On Alert (Silverflame Squire's adventure) count as removal since it untaps a creature?

Yeah, but they also have to not have counterspells or most of these are worthless. It can flash in after attackers are declared, give itself Deathtouch, and kill - there’s no way the Ambush Viper Mode is going to be underutilized.
Ambush Vipers aren't considered removal anymore? [[Blacklance Paragon]] has Flash and Deathtouch.
