Don't mean to be rude but do people really work at laptops all day like this? Isn't this absolute shit for your posture?

whyavocados

I feel good honestly, but maybe that's because I'm obsessed with being in the right posture. Some people don't care about it until they start getting back/neck pain (I was one of them)

anonyawner

But how do you work at a correct posture when looking down at the screen? I don't see how that could work

whyavocados

Keeping the laptop display at an arm's length from you and the chair at the right height. Just doing this you are looking slightly lower than when looking to a regular monitor. The are two reasons I use the laptop as a laptop: 1. Portability: I often bring and use the mac in other places 2. A monitor that looks as good as the mac display costs at least 1k (probably more) and I don't justify spending that much for a monitor

oldDotredditisbetter

what's your proportion like? i can't see a way to have good posture like this https://www.healthandbalance.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/posture_desk.jpg unless you have really good eyes and don't get eye strain from looking at a laptop from far away while keeping your arms at the correct posture?

anonyawner

There are docking solutions for a MacBook, you can still use it and there is no way that can be true, that sounds like a very apple thing to say lol, there are tons of great monitors for so much cheaper...

whyavocados

Not a Apple thing, I tried using two different 4k monitors and a 2k monitor and neither of them is comparable to the macbook display. 4k monitors, unlike 2k, are sharp, but they are at least 27 inches and with 1080p scaling everything is too big (yes, I know there is 1440p scaling but it doesn't look sharp anymore). A 5k monitor would solve the problem but costs too much. This is my opinion of course, many people are happy with a 27 '4k monitor but I honestly hate it.

JohrDinh

Well this makes me worry about snagging one of those 4K HP/Asus ProArt/Dell monitors now. Hmm...maybe I'll just get an iMac specifically for home use lol

Leftover-Waffle

I agree with OP, the quality of the built in display is hard in any monitor under $1k. It’s hard to look at another display after seeing a Mac’s panel.

MoeVanDan

You should upload that image to a stock-photo site. I think at least some articles at Medium would use it. 🤓

Alessandro227

korda016

What are you productive at? Opening PDF files or coding?

LemonCloud20

When you think they coding is the only career out there that requires a setup 🤡

Nareeng

Is that a montblanc?

whyavocados

Nareeng

Nareeng

Sweet, thank you

It was a gift and I'm not a pen expert but I find no difference between this (actually an entry level) and a regular pen as I write. The difference lies more in the build quality, the materials and, of course, the brand name. Take these words with a grain of salt because as I said i know nothing about pens.

LentilRice

Fantastic. The room must smell of iPad though, even better.

oldDotredditisbetter

looks clean but my neck hurts looking at this

Capitalhumano
