A car in that condition in my area without the mods could go for 8-12 thousand depending on the buyer and the market so I'd ballpark it around $7,500 considering the rag top isn't in pristine shape and there are also a lot of buyers who will try to lowball you because they don't like a lowrider. But to the right customer, who's into lowriders and wants a somewhat clean olds/caddy style car, it could go for $9,000 easily if your buddy is willing to sit on it and wait for the right buyer.
BaT sold a pretty decent looking '65 Starfire today for $4200 no reserve, they are NOT the place to sell something like this. They eat up ultra low mileage stuff and anything Porsche or 4 wheel drive, but it's not the place for this particular car, totally wrong audience.
10 grand minimum. Could be more but these aren’t as desirable as a ragtop Impala or Cadillac. I don’t think it will get 20k but I could be wrong. Depends on how fast he wants to sell it. If it were mine I’d put a $20,000 OBO sticker on it and start taking it to cruises and outdoor shows. If he wants it gone quick list it on cakibroker for $10,000 and it will probably be gone by Monday

That’s what my instinct told me. Lots of purists on there, not the crowd. Thanks.

I think he’d be stoked. Probably have luck with higher numbers if we were in a more lowrider friendly/popular area. Appreciate your advice!
YOU TRY THE LAY IT LOW FORUM?
Not yet, that’s a good idea man, I’ll dig out my old account.
That’s still alive?
No. A few trolls from the old days, lots of new users lost on the internet trying to figure out how to start a Lowrider project, and spam accounts
