Who can keep count after all these years?

SuperDizz

It hasn’t aged a day

micewrangler

Come on, come in! Welcome, welcome. Tea? Or maybe something a little stronger. I’ve got a few bottles of the old vineyard left; 1296! Very good year! Almost as old as I am. It was laid down by my father. What say we open one, ey? Jokes aside, the LotR trilogy is a timeless masterpiece.

wh0g0esthere

I read this in bilbo’s voice lol

stonehammer101

Who didn't 😅

Gay4GarlicBread

Just reading this makes me want to watch it again

sanofi_

Count me in!

that1melissa

I spent 6 years on bed rest (disabled at the time) and watched all 3 extended versions (sometimes back-to-back-to-back) at least 100x. They were (and still are) a great comfort to me, and I love being in that atmosphere/frame of mind.

annethepolar

It's the most comforting place I can be, wherever I am, just watching them. And usually when I'm done with ROTK, I never know what to do so I just start it over again.

wh0g0esthere

I have a down syndrome brother who when I was around 10, would watch these movies at least once a week for a year or so, so I’ve seen these movies like probably close to 75 ish times and more since then

und88

I've seen the movies probably 5ish times, but read the books 10+ times.

covfefeBfuqin

You mean in one sitting, right? Otherwise the upper threshold is way too low for movies that are widely considered one of/the best trilogy of all time and 20 years old.

Crimson-Made

One does not simply watch the movies one time.

Andy_DiMatteo

4 times for each, although I did watch fellowship an extra time a few years ago (didn’t remember what happened at all until I rewatched them all for the first time in June). I’ve since watched all the theatrical editions 3 times, and extended once each. Soon I’m gonna watch the extended editions with my gf, and next Saturday I’m watching all extended in one day with a friend.

cutthehero25

Probably seen each movie 50 plus times.

TheMiloBurrows

Are we counting each movie as a "watch?" Or are we doing it as whole trilogy = 1 watch. I would assume the second one...

CannibalisticChad

I prefer the books

Gunsmoke_wonderland

I saw them all with my grandfather in the theater. The expression I gave when the fellowship ended and he informed me there would be 2 more movies was shock, awe, baffled and excitement all at once (I was 9)

javert-nyc

Read the books over 15 times.

theRagnok

A number beyond reckoning.

No-Round7477

I like these movies.

RunDick77788777

Hundreds

theSPEEDCAT

I don’t know what to pick since I certainly having been keeping track Maybe my FBI agent knows Edit: they told me it was 14

He-She-We_Wumbo

15+? Less than half of what I hoped

PensiveObservor

We (my kids and I) saw FOTR 9 times in the theater alone, once for each member of the fellowship. That was how it started. It has never stopped.

CodeMUDkey

Ignored Bill.

fairysparkles333

I believe an honest estimate would be anywhere between 300-350. I remember when it came out I would watch it every weekend. Honestly it’s the movie I’ve watched the most amount of times. There will never be another movie that touches me like this one did.

adrabiot

That's half a year of watching LOTR. My friend, you bow to no one

fairysparkles333

😂😂😂💕

BritishTwin15

I’ve watched each film 3 times

Agile-Ad4475

Last time I counted was 23, but that was before the hobbit 1 release on theaters, so I don't really know now

vdcsX

Well, the movies are 20 years old, so at least 40 times... read the books around 15-20 times.

MazeMiles

Ugh I'm gonna need a couple more hands to count it

Broccobillo

As a kid, for the whole year once we got them on VHS, I watch the new released movie every Saturday and Sunday. I did this for all 3 and then continued doing so for another 5-6 years with my favourite ones. As an adult I still watch them regularly and I'd say I've seen each movie 200+ times at least

pippins-sunshine

I saw fotr in the theater 24 times alone. I think for all 6 movies my total is around 60 at the theater then I ran the discs into the ground. It makes great background noise

Enderkitty5

It’s a family tradition! I’ve been watching it since I was born

ambient_pulse

i usually don't watch it more than once a year because i want it to feel like a special event. i usually watch the movies in june/july read the books sept/oct/nov

Samehatt

My people

HighKingOfGondor

No 100+ option?

Skeletor456

Watching ROTK right now as a matter of fact

Katt-rex

I like statistics: the majority of them who voted watched it 15+ times:D

youngyaret

I'm currently in isolation for covid and planning to spend one of my days watching them again.

zinmoney

Guess I’m behind, good thing I’ve got all the extended editions, time to watch again.

27lucky27

100+

Gummy-Worm-Guy

I watch them only once a year to make them feel extra special, and so that I can get my mind blown because I’m constantly forgetting how good they are

Jaycray95

I sincerely think I’ve watched them over 100 times been obsessed since they came out (im 26) now. My mom took me to the midnight premiere of the fellowship and it has been my favorite franchise ever since.

Deathbymonkeys6996

At least 20 times a year (hobbit too). I have them on all the time. Same as the Star wars prequels. Over 50 times a year easy from 2002-2010 or so.

TimotoUchiha

8m drunk guys

squishysalmon

Not nearly enough, thank you children.

Fleetmastersoro

Yearly

Five5h

You should have add a triple digit option

connersnow

Over 100times. For a year straight I would stick on the extended edition s every night when I was in bed to fall asleep to. Would take me a week to get through them all, but totally worth it. (I was always really stoned, gota love that long bottom leaf)

No-Ice-3077

I have the books, audiobooks, and multiple different sets of the trilogies

cordellf95

Don't believe the 15+ times lol

GrandpasMormonBooks

... in theaters? That would be 20+ buddy.

Haydenforhelix

Anywhere between 3 and 20

ticklingstrangers

Watching it right now

KraljZ

Lol which version? I currently have 5 variants of LOTR

Brillhouse

I watched fellowship last night, I watch it when I’m happy, when I’m sad, when I’m sick. 15+? HA! I LAUGH AT YOUR 15+!

Brillhouse

I watched fellowship last night, I watch it when I’m happy, when I’m sad, when I’m sick. 15+? HA! I LAUGH AT YOUR 15+!

XxAndrew01xX

Definitely way way WAY beyond 15+. I have watched the whole trilogy so many times throughout the years, that I imagine MYSELF as a LOTR character. Lol.

buzzedhobbit

Been watching them ever since I can remember. I wore out both my extended DVD copies of Fellowship and RotK and finally got myself the Blu Ray extended edition as a life necessity. Only reason Two Towers still worked is because we had two copies of that one for some reason? I try to read the books around once a year as well when I can, but the films have provided comfort when sick, something fun to share with friends who’ve never seen them, and something to occupy my ADHD brain when doing chores, etc. for my whole life. I used to talk along with every line of them while doing my algebra homework in college. Really impressed (freaked out) my roommates haha

deblazepyrography

Like well over 100 times. I’ve honestly stopped keeping count.

abecrane

As a kid, we didn’t have a lot of movies, but we had the extended editions. Naturally, me and my brother watch one every single night before going to bed. I estimate we’re both close to 1000 now.

seafoamscribble

In theaters alone I’ve seen the first one 11, second one 8, and third one 5. At home? I’ve definitely seen the first over 50 times, the others close for sure.

annethepolar

Ha! 15+ is a joke. The end should be at least 100 or more. I sometimes go a whole week where all I've watched LoTR on loop.

Predsguy

This poll should have started with 15 and gone up from there.

ducktheoryrelativity

I saw Two Towers three times in theater.

shinjur

I’ve surely watched these films more than any others ever. I loved them as they were coming out and saw them in theatres, bought them on DVD and watched frequently at home, and married a woman who loves LOTR twice as much as I do.

Jedi-Ethos

Always once too few.

SommanderChepard

Only 15+….those are rookie numbers. If we are including all 3 movies I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s above 1000. I watched these movies as a kid on almost a daily basis for years and still don’t go a month without watching them.

smahoney494

I can't stop watching the extended versions.

XenophonSoulis

1-3, unlike the book, which I've read 15+ times.

WRINKLYERMANGO

Not enough times 😂😂

Potential_Audience27

Read the hobbit at the end of 3rd grade, then finished the fellowship in the summer before 4th. At the time I was mad about how the hobbit ended, and my mom suggested to read LotR next. Later that same year I discovered Ender's Game and Dungeons and Dragons... It's no surprise why I turned out the way I did. xD
