Looks great! Idk about your gecko, but mine really likes to climb! There’s some cute bridges you can get online. ☺️

kitttgonewild

She's still gaining confidence but we'll see how she does with this I'm definitely gonna get a bigger tank in the long run with ladders! Do the bridges take up a lot of space?

Living_Karma11

My girl is in a 20 gallon long and she has [this](https://imgur.com/gallery/xGw6aoP) bridge. Maybe you can add a hammock down the road? Leos don’t really bask, but I’m sure they would appreciate the enrichment!

kitttgonewild

Will they actually use the hammocks? I think the mossy ones are super cute but right now she's never out. :(

Living_Karma11

Mine does! [See! ](https://imgur.com/gallery/CVtEvmR) It’s good to provide enrichment just in case they want to explore more. ☺️

kitttgonewild

WOAH how do they climb up? Could I put it in a corner like across from the hut? Will they get hurt if they fall? Also yours is super cute did you make it yourself?

Living_Karma11

She uses the bridge to climb off and on to it. ☺️ If you’re worried about them falling, you can put it just a little ways off the ground just in case. But no, I got it off Amazon. ☺️ Here’s the [link](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B085PV27NZ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_VVPXN1EG0HHSBV4TQ2NJ?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1)

Thank you! I'm for sure getting that next!

Mine loves to climb to near the top of the tank where I have a bridge setup. She uses the bathroom only up there in the top corner. It's great, makes it really easy to clean her poop lol it's like having a litter box

dishonestscorpion

i saw your post about a week ago, it looks very good now!

kitttgonewild

Thank you! I tried hard to make it pretty!

I would move your lamps to the same side! The sun produces both heat and UVB in nature, and heat is needed for the D3 synthesis process.

kitttgonewild

Really? I also have a heat mat under the basking bulb. Could I just turn off the light if I have an overhead light?

alienbanter

I'd switch off the mat before the lamp! Overhead light/heat is a lot more naturalistic and beneficial - more reading about that [here](https://drive.google.com/file/d/1VGOP1yUc1WWcJ7cuT-KOl3GnsFyDVV25/view?usp=drivesdk). But yeah you want the heat and UVB to be on the same side either way!

kitttgonewild

I'm getting rid of the heat mat once I get a deep heat projector, but it's a bit expensive so I'm waiting till I have enough money. And she loves sprawling out onto the mat in the early morning. But I will move both lamps to one side!

Emiliootjee

Im no expert but ive read that a heat matt is better than a heat lamp due to leo’s using the under tank heating to digest food in their bellies?

alienbanter

You can just as easily provide "belly heat" with a rock or other basking platform under the lamp! Then you get the benefits of the IR-A and IR-B radiation discussed in the article I linked and also get "belly heat" if you want that. The idea that a heat mat is necessary is really a myth. If you think about it, in the wild the only source of heat is the sun, so having a constantly hot tank bottom isn't very natural.

Tarbsley

That’s really pretty!! Where did you get the fake plants? I need to spruce up my gecko’s tank

kitttgonewild

From Amazon! I did a ton of searching to find ones I liked. I actually cute the huge vines into smaller sections so it's spread out. If you want exact links I can give them go you
