I don't understand at all why no real center was signed to a 10 day contract, when we knew for a while that AD wouldn't play back to back games, and then Bamba also got injured. Why the hell are we taking Houston so lightly, like they haven't pulled off major upsets this season? Anyone can win on any night, and it feels like we are completely dismissing Houston because they're tanking. What happens if Vando or Gabriel gets into foul trouble? What happens if either suffers an injury? Are we really going to ask Rui to defend the paint? I'm trying to understand this non-move, but none of it makes sense. It's a 10 day contract with no risk. We can't afford to gamble like this when EVERY SINGLE GAME MATTERS!
Because these players are human beings, not robots on 2K. Lakers aren’t just gonna sign a guy on short notice, on a 10 day for one game, get him on the floor with our team and expect him to perform, then at the end of the game say, “okay cool thanks, we don’t need you anymore”. Bamba is out for multiple weeks, AD has a long injury history and is now being load-managed to keep him healthy, and Gabriel is a tweener PF/C. We have an open roster spot, so the 10 day contract would be used to figure out who we can potentially keep as our #3 C. It's pretty silly to only have 2 C's on the roster, especially when anything can happen in a game where you now might be forced to play Vando/Rui as your emergency big. I also 100% don't want Vando at C because it's a misuse of his skillset and he gets into foul trouble when forced to defend real big men, which would also hurt us defending wings because he's now defending the paint and removed from doing the things he does best
I this point I wonder if they just don’t want to increase the luxury tax, or are making sure they have room to bring up one of the two way contracts for the playoffs

It should've been Jay Huff earlier in the season before the Wizards snapped him up. Right now, I would say Willie Cauley Stein. DJ Wilson or Noah Vonleh are other options (both are 6'10").
Last season he played decently averaging 9 ppg, 6 rebounds and 2 assists in 14 min for the nugs. He’s only 32 years old and he can certainly give us 10 min a game. I don’t know what you’re talking about

These guys are washed and unplayable.
Cousins wouldn’t be able to grab rebounds, box out or play defense even on Melo’s level.
Jones or Whiteside would catch a couple of lobs and then sit on the bench with foul trouble.
