Dr. John C. Lilly 1992 lecture | Dolphins and LSD; Float Tanks and Ketamine [Audio recorded in Kyoto]

I’m all for the drug pioneers but John C. Lily always seemed a little nutty. And you can’t blame that on drugs. Albert Hoffman ate acid till he was over 100 and never sounded nutty at all.
I've read and watched just about any and everything about Lilly. The word "little" does not need to be in front of "nutty".
While his work with dolphins certainly did not lead to the expected results i.e. we are still no closer to being able to talk to aliens, the good news is the aliens haven't show up yet.
In all seriousness, the study did not turn out as expected but the unintentional attention it brought to dolphins and whales, and in a larger scope the entire marine system, to the public pretty much started a huge environmental movement. Through his work people were able to see dolphins in a completely different light.
Yea and if you had a sega. Ecco the dolphin
It was so funny when I finally put that together. Guess I've been a freak from way back, lol.
In the movie "Day Of The Dolphin", Lilly was played by George C Scott. I also have the Playboy issue with his intervew after Altered States came out. Yes, he did that 6 week ket float, but he hardheaded himself and his dolphins with all the popular psychedelics of the day. My brother brought some back from Vietnam. Bc I took the path to exploring our genetic history with Fort Dodge myself, I was deeply diappointed by the interview. Ket was no more profound than any of the other 4,5, or 6 he did in massive doses. Sigh.
