These are built like a tank. I used one of these when I was still in college and can’t afford many gi’s and it lasted me 3 years while wearing it 2-3 times a week lol
Origin Maine. American made and you'll never buy another so the price is worth it. when you buy beginner gi's you usually end up buying another in a year or two. This way you won't
Last I checked the left had seditionists as well and more violent than the right. Let’s not be hypocrites and realize both sides are being extreme right now
You have lost your damn mind. There were zero leftists involved in the insurrection. All right wing Trump supporters. You can "BLM both sides" all damn day, only the Republicans stormed the Capitol in an attempt to overthrow a legitimate election.
Yup. The capitol riot which was over in a couple of hours, where the only person killed was a rioter, where a few selfies were taken by morons in face paint and ridiculous costumes, and where the Senate went back to business as always and verified the election results within a few hours, was so much worse than the numerous deaths and billions in property damage caused by BLM over several months. Ridiculous. All rioting thugs on either side of the politcal aisle should be thrown in prison. The difference is that the left does it routinely and gets away with it.
93 brand hooks, I have 3 in heavy rotation, you can find them on bjjhq frequently for a out $70. Great jacket weight, best pants ever, comes with a free white belt, tons of sizes
I brought my own gi to a new gym, and they didn’t allow me to wear it as it didn’t match their dress code. So they gave me one with the subscription. Just make sure where you’re going doesn’t have the same deal.
My sanabul gi has broken in very comfortable and still in relatively good shape after at least a year, I really like it and I think I paid like $70 for it
I got an ELITE go on Amazon. It was like $45. Got me through the bulk of my 2 years.
And while the gi isn't a critical factor in your performance, if you eventually decide to go for a nice gi, I'd recommend the a Origin. Just the basic one, totally worth it in my opinion.

My favorite is the Gold BJJ Aeroweave gis. They're $120 and extremely lightweight, which is why they're my favorite. Super soft too! If you can't tell I'm all about comfort lol
Start off with something affordable that fits well. Sanabul, Gold, etc are fine. Also - keep an eye out for companies that offer amazing deals - ie: Inverted Gear does an annual/semiannual sale where you pay $120 and get TWO brand new gis of the company’s choosing. I’ve scored some massive deals this way. Maeda is another awesome choice; super lightweight and cut well.
If it fits perfectly right out of the package, then HANG DRY. Gis have a tendancy to shrink in the arms/legs, which can be frustrating.
Also - sizing is NOT uniform. You may be an A2 in one brand, A3 in another, even A2L or A3S, so keep an eye on measurements. And ask training partners to try on their well-worn, well-washed gi to see how it fits your body, before you invest in a more expensive brand like A&P/Shoyo/Origin (especially Origin since their sleeve lengths are inconsistent even within their own product lines)
I've used Sanabul Gi's for the last 9 months and they've been great
I have grabbed my partners' Sanabul lapels/cuffs and they feel very sturdy but soft.
https://fightersmarket.com/products/mystery-gi You’re welcome. You’ll get a 120 dollar gi for 50. You just don’t get to pick.
And they don’t have my size lol
Any idea what brands they typically are?
I got a kingz when I ordered mine. They are the ones the website carries, which are all nice brands.
Cool ty
I found Fuji affordable and they have a pretty darn good reputation.
Fuji Sekai is excellent
The base Fuji model is cheap like 95$ but is tough and comfortable.

Download the bjj hq app, they do rolling deals once a day and you can get some great discounts.

They're right wing political, if that matters.
Yeah don't support Americans buy from China instead.. ding dong.
I don't support seditionists or their supporters

Sedition is just about the highest crime you can commit.
My comment was in no way political. So thanks for that
I'm not the one who went stupid.
Hawk on Amazon. Good starter gi at a lower price.

Shoyoroll is great for beginners. Especially the rare special editions. People at the gym will appreciate it too.
Funny
great value for the price as well!
I like Inverted Gear gis
I like to invert my gi that way i don’t have to wash it every class, flip it inside out and it’s just like new… Right?
Omg lol
Oh okay
Get 2 extra days out of it by wearing the bottoms on top and the top on your legs inside and out.
Fuji
Scramble has a blank gi that is a nice quality and cheap compared to other brands

Just out of curiosity, what exactly didn’t comply with their dress code?
Some gums demand you buy their gis...it's a shitty practice. Gracie Barra is infamous for this
Sanabul

I got my starter gi's at [Xmartial](https://www.xmartial.com/collections/bjj-gi). I like their gi, it's spider guard proof.
Tatami
Consider just buying the cheapest one that your gym sells. Worst case you learn what you don’t like, and you still support your gym.
Go on ebay. If you dont mind second hand and there are a lot of used Gis. Inverted gear is my favorite.

The one I got from Gold is solid

Elite gis off their website around $20 or a bit more on Amazon. They are great.
If you don’t have a shoyoroll don’t even go. Your jits just won’t be good enough.
Sanabul
Sanabul
I like Sanabul
93 Brand makes some good quality stuff for under $100. I have a Maeda gi that I like a lot too. That one was relatively cheap too.
Fuji
I've always used taitami, they last a long time and aren't too thick or too light
Fuji gi’s are durable as hell for their price point (the All-arounds). I used to wear them a lot when I was just starting out.
