Thanks!! I feel alright, I have more pain from the elastics in my mouth than the actual jaw. (Mine is not wired shut) I was always a mouth breather because if I used my nose I would get out of breath so fast. Immediately after the surgery I noticed that breathing through the nose became much easier. I still have to change the habit of breathing through the mouth haha.
Habits are hard but not impossible to break. It'll come with time and probably naturally, too.
Be careful about the screws holding the elastics (I had 4 of them after my DJS). The two on top went through my inner cheek skin and didn't heal until after the screws were out. I would definitely recommend putting braces wax on it so that doesn't happen to you. Not saying it will, but better safe than sorry
Thanks for the tip! Maybe it's because i'm from the netherlands but they dont use screws here haha. They have titanium plates, they also dont have to be removed.
Oh woah. To hold the elastic bands in place? Here our elastics are temporary along with the screws to hold the rubber bands. Interesting stuff! Thanks for sharing
I thought I was being crazy but it does look like it huh.. but as far as I know they didnt..
They say its because your maxilla moves with DJS your nose will shape depending on how much mm they move it. I know they made alot of movement on my lower and upper jaw so that might be the reason why.
Hey there jordipop - thanks for saying thanks! TheGratitudeBot has been reading millions of comments in the past few weeks, and you’ve just made the list!
Yeah, it's getting harder and harder tho for most people to get it covered.
I had a 14MM overbite before braces etc, thats mostly the reason it got covered.

I have an after CT scan from front and side, I could upload that right now if you'd like.
Before I'd have to ask, will do that along with the movements!
No gummy smile but you couldn't see my bottom teeth if I smiled.

I will update after I receive the after and exact movements.
I do have a crappy photo showing a 3D scan before and after. If you'd like that aswell.
Well it wasn't really confirmed that I had sleep apnea, but I did snore alot.
Because it restricted my airflow. I havent had a good night sleep yet, so can't tell yet mostly because my jaw is still swollen.
When did you notice your life getting easier after your surgery? I had mine done yesterday and the rubber bands are probably the worst part for me. You look amazing btw
Probaly after about a week. The first 6 days are the hardest, after that it slowly becomes easier. The rubber bands were the worst part for me aswell. Sleeping with them is awful. I still have them and it's been 3 weeks now.
Wow! Your transformation is amazing. You look fantastic. How do you feel, though? Breathing easier?

Below another comment is a CT scan where you can see the plates. Our elastic bands are temporary aswell ofcourse.
Chin and bottom lips are still numb, also pretty swollen still.
Did you get a nose job too? My nose got a bit straighter after surgery but not by that much lol

Yea I understand it changes your nose. Mine went from droopy to a little less droopy lol I’m jealous
Yeah, its a nice change really. Didn't expect it tho
Went from handsome to bow chicka wow reaction gorgeous! Looking great.
Appreciate it!
Looking great! Do you know your movements?
Thanks! Not memorised, I have to head back for a check somewhere next week. I'll ask and let you know!

Buddy how old are you?
I'm 26, why?
Nothing i was just interested, you look so good ;).
Thank you! Appreciate it
Do you mind sharing how much the procedure was or if you were able to get it covered by insurance?
I'm from the Netherlands and because this is a medical procedure (I would have problems with chewing etc later on) it's all covered.
Wow! That’s amazing. Well you look great!
Yeah, it's getting harder and harder tho for most people to get it covered. I had a 14MM overbite before braces etc, thats mostly the reason it got covered.
You look like a completely different person
Incredible result
Thanks!
Wow!! You look amazing!
Awesome! Did the DJS affect your nose shape also? I would say mine has a similar shape and I'm waiting for DJS, so curious to know!
Yes it did! It depends on much they move your maxilla I believe.
Thanks for your reply! Did they by chance rotate your maxila a bit too? You must be happy with the result, I'm sure
I believe they did! I have to go back next week for a regular check-up. I will post an update with the exact movements
Looks great! Who was your surgeon if you don’t mind sharing?
I'm from the netherlands so not sure if you can do something with his name but he's called A.C. van Leeuwen
Had to do a double take I thought you were Josh Allen.
You look great!
Resulta were so good. Do you remember if surgeon use a counterclockwise mandibular advancement or it was a normal mandibular advancement?
Not sure, i'd have to ask!
Such good results, I am so happy for you. Who was your surgeon, might I ask?

Cute before and after
Haha thanks :)
Nice result, do you have a before and after ceph x ray / scan ? If you could please update on your movements it would be appreciated !
I have an after CT scan from front and side, I could upload that right now if you'd like. Before I'd have to ask, will do that along with the movements!
thanks, would be nice to see, my profile is similar to your before. Did you have a gummy smile before ?

Thanks. What does the ortho say about the bite ? It looks open in the front
Its indeed a little open, but this was before the elastics were placed. This will be closed with elastics and proper braces placement.
Was this for sleep apnea? And if so what changes did you notice
Well it wasn't really confirmed that I had sleep apnea, but I did snore alot. Because it restricted my airflow. I havent had a good night sleep yet, so can't tell yet mostly because my jaw is still swollen.
DAMN, you look amazinggg! Post again once fully healed, congrats on great results!
Thanks bro appreciate it! Will do
Is your jaw deformity caused by joint/ tmj disorder? BTW the result is balanced and the movements on the lateral ceph. seems reasonable.
Well, it hasnt been confirmed that I have a TMJ disorder but the symptoms match with what I had.
Youu look awesome. How expensive was this ? And is it permanent ?
Insurance covered it for me. The change is permanent yes, or atleast that's what they told me.
When did you notice your life getting easier after your surgery? I had mine done yesterday and the rubber bands are probably the worst part for me. You look amazing btw

Amazing
Wow that's awesome! Do you know how much your movements were?
Who was your doctor?
Omfg u look so good
Rhinoplasty too no ?
Upper jaw surgery often changes nose appearance.
Wow I’ve seen changes in nose from jaw surgery but never anything like this. Congrats bro
Thank you! :)
No, but i'm certainly happy about the change.
It looks super handsome and well balanced with your features now!
Appreciate it man!
