They burned and hung people like that in tiannanmen? What the fuck? I thought they should some students protesting like kent state. Was is police ? Who did it?
I watched a great documentary on Tiananmen square about a year ago that gave a lot of detail to the days of protests on YouTube. Wish I could find it quickly now.
It's really strange though, one of my colleagues at work is from China and speaks openly about it. He's young but his father was there at first and left a day before the massacre started. He was blackballed from any government jobs, but now has his own company and seems to do quite well. Interestingly we had a lunch meeting with a partner who is from the same area, but he was in the US during the protests and was then given a fast track to citizenship to remain here.
We will absolutely do something.
Taiwan is home to TSMC, the biggest and most important chip maker in the world.
Taiwan is so critical we cannot at all let it slip away.
Did you know, that without TSMC, the iPhone would not have a chip in it?
Did you also know, that the F35 fighter jet is 100% reliant on chips from that facility. So if the US lost Taiwan, it would lose its ability to have chips in our most powerful jet in the world.
The problem is that those chip facilities cost around $12bn to create.
Not only that, but once operational, the facility MUST MUST MUST run at full speed, and in 7 years, becomes obsolete. That’s why we don’t have them in the US. Plus the cost of labor and such.

It's a 6 hour minimum boat ride to Taiwan. China has a lot of boats but most can't travel that far and the few that could would never survive the journey.
Deng is reprehensible for his role in the Tiennamen Square Massacre, but Mao was a thousand times worse. Great leap forward, cultural revolution, struggle sessions etc. killed tens of millions.
Deng, like Mao, was an authoritarian who brutally cracked down on dissent. However, Deng’s economic reforms put China on the path towards rapid economic growth and superpower status. Mao’s economic reforms led to famine and suffering
I just looked…. My god what a bunch of misled idiots. They are literal zombies to the propaganda. Which they think we are, because their media convinced them of it. Just insane.
Lol I got banned by that sub for saying “China is the final boss of misinformation” on a post complaining about Ukrainian propaganda and misinformation.
> It was a political turmoil incited by a very small number of political careerists…was aimed at subverting the socialist People's Republic
Yep, sounds like every anti-protesting government’s response
This could be a movie scene.. somthing about it is so deeply romantic, encouraging, and beautiful. He seems proud and looks at her with love, she seems simple and happy, everyone around them admires as they dance. Its a very poetic scene, reminds us that China is a country filled with people just like any other. Everyone has their own story, we mustn't let politics overpower the sounds of humanity.
Edit: It breaks my heart even more knowing what happens when people in power do not care for people of earth.
You mean “mass murder” or “slaughter of innocent civilians” or “tyrannical oppression resulting in the deaths of 10,000 protesters”, right?
No joke. 10k.

Just remember that the regime that ran tanks over these kids' bones has no sanctions against them.
Oh, and they also imprison upwards of a million people and brainwash/torture them with the world happily buying the products of the slave labor.
In sure it was a grand ol' time if you were one of the assholes within the party.
Then there were the people and their kids getting yelled at and harassed for wearing masks, an entire mall and blocks and blocks of businesses had to close because they were being hostile with the staff, residents had to leave because they couldn't get sleep or get work done due to all of the noise that was happening, a soup kitchen was harassed, literal Nazis showed up, and there was shit and piss everywhere among a plethora of other things
No, this looks nothing like that.

Exactly what is meddling? Wanting people to have the right to elect their government? I'm not saying the system is perfect but it's light years ahead of the alternative.
Absolutely, people have began to get disillusioned. In reality putin has put too much in to back out, he’ll leave with ukraine or he’ll make sure there’s no ukraine left. And if anyone tries to intervene, there will be a very likely nuke tossing contest before earth is irreparably damaged.

Well yeah it was the government obviously…

Before they were smeared across the pavement. Never forget 6/4. Free Hong Kong, and defend Taiwan.
I have a terrible feeling Taiwan is going to be taken soon and we aren’t going to do anything.

At approx. $1 trillion per year, $12 billion is the cost of about 5 days of the US’ occupation of Iraq. A war would cost orders of magnitude more.
can you expand on your last point? 'the facility must run at full speed' - why? 'and in 7 years, becomes obsolete.' - what?! why?? thanks!

Haha yes very funi
heyyyy we found one!
I mean yea he’s definitely part of the problem but this is all from decades of bad foreign policy
China is definitely taking notes right now.
Yea I know.. The whole world is.. I’m worried about our future
They are building fake islands to take over China Sea. They are expanding. Russia and China together are bad news
Free Tibet too!
It's a 6 hour minimum boat ride to Taiwan. China has a lot of boats but most can't travel that far and the few that could would never survive the journey.
Imagine how not shit chinas government could’ve been if the people succeeded

It would have been better

Crackdown? You mean massacre
Lol right, who refers to it as a crackdown?!
Someone who doesn’t wanna aggro a thousand bots
Quick, hide from r/GenZedong
Bless 'em, they're a real bunch of Olympic level gold medal mental gymnasts.
They just need a little more social credit to play an extra hour of Minecraft
Holy shit what a pit of filth. I had never heard of that sub, thanks for the headache!
I just looked…. My god what a bunch of misled idiots. They are literal zombies to the propaganda. Which they think we are, because their media convinced them of it. Just insane.
Yes, it is called confirmation bias
Its always the people calling other people sheeple etc who are the ones been easily led astray
Found the genzedong poster
Lol I got banned by that sub for saying “China is the final boss of misinformation” on a post complaining about Ukrainian propaganda and misinformation.
I hope you’re using a VPN
You spelled "squishing innocent people to death with tanks" wrong.
That's implied
Wishing for the day semantics solves puzzle for World Peace, instead of World Piece(s). /s
“There was no Tianamen square” -CCP
This implies the CCP denies the square’s existence.
The Chinese people were so close to liberty...

Try it you CCP shill, I dare you.
They’re more dangerous than the truckers! Outrageous
And a serious threat to democracy.
> It was a political turmoil incited by a very small number of political careerists…was aimed at subverting the socialist People's Republic Yep, sounds like every anti-protesting government’s response
Imagine being so evil that this image makes you go into a murderous rage.
r/fucktheccp
How much cooler would China be if they had allowed democracy? Could really have been leading the East instead of holding it back.
You mean before 10,000 people were slaughtered by their own government?
It certainly wasn't 10,000. It was a lot, but not that much at all.
Turns out you can’t defeat a brutal communist regime by dancing and having a good ol time.
[REDACTED]
You spelled massacre wrong
This is really powerful. I think we see the 'after' so much, it's hard to imagine what came before.
There is no Tiananmen Square in Ba Sing Se.
Looks like the Canadian trucker protest
Before the massacre you mean.
before west taiwan got completely brainwashed for generations.
false this never happened guys (+200000 social credit)
The Chinese have absolutely no regard for their own population and would rather have less of them to worry about. It's disgusting what happened.
They've starved 50 million of their own people before, they'll do it again.
I’m just sitting in my car and waiting for my girl
Thank you for the reminder. Going to listen to it.
nice blank image
"Crackdown" - you mean *Massacre Of The Children*, surely
That was another special operation by a dictator. Tragic!

People who protest Totalitarian regimes are the real heroes of modern world.
Likey everyone in this picture is dead and was very shortly after this picture.
If you wanna know interesting stuff then talk to mainland Chinese about this event. Learned a bunch of stuff I never knew before from my ex.
Cultural Revolution squashed that easily.
This was well after the Cultural Revolution.
It’s so sad that it was all swept under a rug, no one knows how many died or probably who died :(
You forgot to show the burned PLA soldiers.
look at all that nothing happening
I mean you aren’t wrong
Which goes to show that instead of showing off your freedoms, you should be arming for war
Looks a lot like the Canadian Trucker protests
HA. Nope.
Extremely rare NFT
Under the guise of safety, the crackdown is coming to all of us.
my good sir you have to understand NOTHING HAPPENED
What crackdown? nothing happened in Tiananmen Square.
I'm just sitting in my car and waiting for my girl. (Jk lol I have no girl)
Sure looks a lot like the Canadian protests in Ottawa...
I guess. If you're a complete idiot with no grasp on the social and political factors leading up to the two events.
What??
People dancing, getting along and having a great time.

Very sad. Apparently a lot of USA meddling involved.
Exactly what is meddling? Wanting people to have the right to elect their government? I'm not saying the system is perfect but it's light years ahead of the alternative.
Those people are in their 50s now.
They're dead since 30 years
I mean, only some.
Back When there were actually decent people in china.
There still are.
when you hate the government but not the people.
They were pretty stupid, soldiers rolled in and told them to leave or they were gonna start shooting and they tried to call their bluff.
Someone's trying to improve their credit score
So that makes it okay?
what happened here exactly?
watch Gate of Heavenly Peace documentary on youtube to find out
This is Reddit today. The next few days of Ukraine will be horror. No matter how many positive memes we post.
Absolutely, people have began to get disillusioned. In reality putin has put too much in to back out, he’ll leave with ukraine or he’ll make sure there’s no ukraine left. And if anyone tries to intervene, there will be a very likely nuke tossing contest before earth is irreparably damaged.
Massacre, before the massacre
Such brave people
It is confirmed that tank beats man
I guess you could call it a "crackdown"..
Very Sad
Fun detected
Human Red Paste
Ah.
Does anybody know the exact date of the massacre
FYI, this even has been demonized by the CCP and most Chinese believe they are more of a rioter then protestor.
"Crackdown" or murder? Just because a government kills doesn't mean it should be legal.
Everyone looks so happy!
