The Murder Capital
Shame
Tropical F*ck Storm
Tyler, The Creator
Smashing Pumpkins
Lana Del Rey (announcement comes on the 7th)
I think it’s because they’ve been announced to perform at alot of festivals next year. They haven’t performed in a very long time so it’d make sense if they were putting something out soon.
**[Graham's number](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Graham's_number)**
>Graham's number is an immense number that arose as an upper bound on the answer of a problem in the mathematical field of Ramsey theory. It is much larger than many other large numbers such as Skewes's number and Moser's number, both of which are in turn much larger than a googolplex. As with these, it is so large that the observable universe is far too small to contain an ordinary digital representation of Graham's number, assuming that each digit occupies one Planck volume, possibly the smallest measurable space.

I really like [Fraxiom's solo work](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U7UB13s80ZI), too. It's like the most unrestrained version of this genre though, so you gotta really be into that sort of music
>how are they still making music.
Because people listen to their music
>do people actually listen to it?
Yes
>also how is this indie music?
Because indie music is an extremely broad genre and this subreddit purposefully avoids trying to explicitly define it
>it’s purposely bad edm for irony’s sake.
It's not
Brace yourselves, college radio DJs
So so far for 2023 albums we've got 100 gecs and Metallica My lizard brain is happy

New OPN confirmed this morning and potentially new Nine Inch Nails or Death Grips perhaps.
Is the death grips just speculation about the dates/numerology thing? Or is there something more official?
I think it’s because they’ve been announced to perform at alot of festivals next year. They haven’t performed in a very long time so it’d make sense if they were putting something out soon.
Yep! Pretty much this!
Didn't see that ty!
> OPN [Wonderful news](https://nitter.net/0PN/status/1598686156916498435), thanks.
new NIN? where do you see this?
HIGHLY speculated after this most recent touring cycle wrapped up and Trent’s itching for new NIN based on interviews.
Don’t forget the inevitable king gizz albums
they've literally confirmed album 24 and 25 are being worked on. knowing them, there's a pretty good chance we see them drop next year
Fever Ray Black Belt Eagle Scout White Reaper The Go! Team Paramore
Is White Reaper confirmed???
January 27th confirmed on the Pages music video & band store
Hell yeah. Great way to kick off the new semester.
Not too shabby. First I'm hearing about Tyler, when did he announce that?
He didn’t announce anything, but he releases an album every two years like clockwork. He’s always hinting towards new music though.
Not sure why you got downvoted. It’s still unconfirmed, but he’s dropped an album every two years since ‘09. I would expect something, too.
Tennis and Kelela on February 10th too.
Swans as well
Philip Selway (Radiohead) Also potentially a Coldplay live album
Tyler??????
There’s a confirmed Tyler drop?
Speaking of lizards, probably one or two more King Gizzard albums as well!
The great gorillaz too
Swans too
Their naming scheme is going to look a lot less funny when they run out of gecs!
You're laughing. There's a global gec shortage and you're laughing.
save our gecs
1% of geccers own 31.1% of gecs in America
We need to start by getting gecs out of politics.
exactly. and that's why i'm voting kanye west
I like Gecs
They can just print more gecs. I don't see why that wouldn't work
It ain't supposed to be funny. If the number of gecs is keeps rising exponentially, soon it's going to be all over.
Gecflation is a problem, why isn't anyone talking about this
I'm more worried about the gecrification processes we're seeing all over.
10^5 gecs up next
If we hit [Graham's Number](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Graham%27s_number) of Gecs we're really in for it.
gec gec gec gec gec gec gec gec gec gec gec gec gec gec gec gec gec gec gec gec gec gec gec gec gec gec gec gec gec gec gec gec gec gec gec gec gec gec gec gec gec gec gec gec gec gec gec gec

ok thats too many gecs
LET’S GOOO EARLY 2022
Uhh...
\#JULY2015
You mean early 2024 right?
The wait for this was so frustrating — glad it’s finally coming!
I went from absolutely hating this band to actually enjoying them
As a late 30s man I don't understand why i'm so excited for this dumb record, but here we arecs gecs gecs gecs gecs gecs gecs gecs gecs gecs gecs gecs gecs gecs gecs gecs gecs gecs gecs gecs gecs gecs gecs gecs gecs gecs gecs gecs gecs gecs gecs gecs gecs gecs gecs gecs gecs gecs gecs gecs gecs gecs gecs gecs gecs gecs gecs gecs gecs

It's like they hit some kind of primal pleasure button and you can't heGEC GEC GEC GEC GEC GEC GEC
Wake me up when they get to a googol of gecs.
Or [Graham's Number](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Graham%27s_number) of Gecs. That's gonna leave a mark.

Good bot.
That's just irresponsible.
Ummmm. I'm not a fan of this group but mad props for the naming. 👍👍
>I'm not a fan of this group Trust me that's how it starts.
same
gec
Thats just too many gecs
There is no such thing
They have such an awesome sound, like PCP mixed with pixie sticks. I know a lot of people who can’t tolerate their music at all but I love it.
You into Food House? [ride](https://youtu.be/LluBWyXztvQ) [Thos Moser](https://youtu.be/khmjbZtMrJQ)

Oh that's good too thanks
I describe it as if Die Antwoord grew up on the internet
So if 1000 gecs had 10 songs, does that mean 10,000 gecs will have 100 songs?
society and its consequences
Time to blow out the speakers
hell yeah fuck you Natalie merchant
You will not get as many upvotes as you deserve for that one, my friend.
There are way too many gecs. Please help
My birthday, I’m so happy
These guys were the first band that made me feel the disconnect to the young kids. I don’t get it lmao go off though
gecs are an invasive species
LETS GOOOOOO 🦎🦎🦎🦎🦎🦎
FINALLY
In 10 years we will have 100000000000 gecs
Yaaaaaaaaaaaaassssssss
how are they still making music. do people actually listen to it? also how is this indie music? it’s purposely bad edm for irony’s sake.

nah man its definitely a joke
Ok
It's almost like music is subjective.

I'm not sure there is an "objective" good. But like, creative, inventive, well produced? Those are harder to deny.
to a certain point sure, but some noises are just objectively unpleasent
Maybe, but maybe some people derive pleasure from *well made* unpleasant noises. I'm a big gecs fan but I didn't get it at first either.
That's a lot of gecs 😳😳
so many gecs
