I couldn’t even get past the beginning when she says 6 weeks after surgery her “surgical pain” was a 3/4.
Technically it takes quite a bit longer to heal when you have EDS.
Has it already been 6 weeks?!
Mouse pain and nutcracker pain? WTH???
There’s nutcracker syndrome which involves the kidneys. I’m not sure which she claims to have but most of the MALS/other compression people, claim nutcracker as well.
Get the munchies - dies young. Somebody needs to shake some sense into her 😩
is phantom MALS pain a real thing?
Has nothing to do with MALs lol so idk why she calls it that. She mostly has pain in her upper GI and looked up MALs and self diagnosed until the Dr told her she didn’t have it so now she calls is MALs phantom pain 🙄 to act like she really has something when she doesn’t it’s probably just her muscles contracting.
oh i knew she was bullshitting i just didn't know if phantom mals pain existed in patients who actually have that condition. i should've been more clear. thank you for the response!
I thought the same exact thing. Her face doesn’t look like she is in pain what so ever.
It never once has
The fact that I'm not the only one who says "sweet summer child," makes me happy.
Kaya: my pain is so bad I can’t focus
also Kaya: gives us a whole monologue about pain
Smiling all the while
Maybe it's just me but I kinda feel like she was trying not to smile in this video?
It’s the varieties of different “phantom pain” for me.
Exactly. It’s more than likely just contracting muscles there is nothing actually wrong and she wants to put a name on it so she makes up her own.
The artfully disarranged hair, limp locks straggling across her forehead to *prove* she's in dire, and very specific, pain. No garden variety tummy ache for the princess, heaven forbid! That's for peasants without Super Rare Diseases and Disorders.
And the vocal fry. I listened to about 7 seconds.
Is she that “in tune” with her body that she can easily differentiate between many different type of abdominal pain including kidney pain vs intestinal pain, vs MALS, vs Nutcracker pain? Is she just googling “what pain in certain parts of the stomach means” and just rolling with it?
She’s definitely been googling symptoms. I honestly feel bad for her she’s deep deep into health anxiety.
This is what raised my eyebrows, as well. Stomach pain feels like stomach pain feels like stomach pain… unless you’re a liar.
Eh, not really. Not wk-ing at all here, but there's all kinds of stomach pain. The I Ate Too Much Fruit pain, the Giant Gas Bubble pain, the I Can't Poo pain, the cramping Got The Runs pain.
I think it's especially weird that most people can put their finger where the pain is and guess the organ
It seems like she is just coming up with random pains and claiming that she has them. Doubt she can tell the difference between kidney, intestinal, mals, smas, nutcracker, and may Thurner pain
I wonder what a Google search of “symptoms week-by-week recovering from [whatever surgery she says she had]” would return…🤔🧐
Spoiler: I bet a break-down right on track with what she’s saying in-depth…until she says it failed, of course ⏱👀
Some of what Kaya says felt like she's either ramping up for a surgical failure or ramping up for something new. "New kidney type pain"? Foreshadowing? Time will tell....
I'll grant that I didn't listen to this because fuck that, but isn't she claiming she can't eat by mouth like at all??
She's saying she can eat some, but it causes "phantom pain". I don't even know if that's a thing with MALS or Nutcracker. I should probably go look. Darn these munchies, making me do homework on my first cup of coffee!
They're like toddlers, ya kno. In more ways than one, too.
Also about your follow-up comment, I can't find anything on phantom pain either, and frankly and finding plenty of evidence that any pain with eating, even if residual, phantom, or conditional, should at the very least end up noticeably reduced. But of course - and we have this problem with others, such as Dani - she may not be experiencing any pain *at all,* and while it's on us (i.e. medical - and also legal and ethical in my case - professionals, dunno if you fall under that umbrella!) to assume innocence until proven guilty (so to speak), we can't help if they want to incriminate themselves right into the gaze of skepticism.
I haven't gotten too deep into her stuff yet because she just rubs me the wrong way, but even my glances tell me she's far too happy and healthy-looking for the symptoms she's claiming. Flat-out.
I completely agree, she really shows no sign at all of someone having any of the conditions she claims. And I get that some people instinctively hide all signs of pain and whatnot. Sone people simply will not or cannot react to pain the way everyone else does. But it's impossible to hide pain 100%. The signs are there, even if they're subtle. And Kaya shows none of them. Not even with that fake looking wince.
I never worked in human medicine, my career was in animal medicine. But I've spent most of my life studying human medicine for fun, and I'm well aware of the legal and ethical aspects. And of course, you're right, there needs to be proof of faking before the claim can be made. But damn, these munchies sure do put a lot of time and effort into incriminating themselves, lol.
Ok, I couldn't find anything about phantom pain, but did find that pain during recovery can mimic MALS pain. So that might be what our little munchie is misinterpreting during her recovery research.
if she is really in that much pain, I feel like her surgeries didn’t work.
I just (briefly) looked into her claim of phantom pain. From what I found, pain during recovery can mimic the actual MALS pain without it meaning surgical failure.
However, we are talking about a munchie here, so most likely Kaya will claim the worst surgical failure her surgeon has ever seen.
Of course they didn't. Hallmark of a munchie. They have all the most extreme treatments and whaddayaknow none of it worked and they're still anorexic because the pain on eating is psychological.
Has a bunch of surgeries, eats normally like the rest of us.
Dammit-I told myself I wasn’t gonna look up what that term meant-I did and it’s meh lol
