Yea, it's usually thin skinned nerds who are probably only fans of like 3 rappers.
The "how do people still support him" people piss me off the most though , like there's no way your a rap fan and complaining about rappers and their fans moralities.
This new Yung Mal album hard as hell but I’m weak at him giving a lil girl (it’s not said 100% explicitly but I think it’s his daughter) a verse. Shit caught me off guard lmao.
Pretty dope beat selection tho, [Invest](https://youtu.be/dC-_0u0je-0) is great
The funny thing about rewatching Degrassi is seeing Drake’s character just become Drake in his final season.
Wants to be a rapper, treating women like crap even though he broke up with them.
It’s all there.
it's always funny to me how Dre is constantly in the studio judging by all the pictures rappers/celebrities take with him but releases music he co-produced like once every 3 years
I literally been listening to that the last few days.
It's a top 3 Wayne project Imo. Even Birdman did his thing on that album. The production on it is dope asf.
i threw a couple songs on and the production on here is pretty dope. You Ain't Know, 1st Key and Know What I'm Doin are some standouts so far. can't believe i let Birdman's name run me away from this album
Most underrated song on a not at all underrated album? Gotta go with Wailin’ from ATLiens, the sample is great and Big Boi and 3 Stacks flows are smooth as butter
I’ve had this exact thought many times
I don’t necessarily like how the sample is flipped as much but Prodigy’s [Trials Of Love](https://youtu.be/Ji6M20tQlb0) uses the same sample and is a lot longer
[yah on DAMN.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QlmxRtdAOLU)
[citronella on none shall pass](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fvWx_TDz6c0)
[sea legs on run the jewels 1](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YbnhUVTTdHE)
[no sl33p on whole lotta red](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QicMBfKdPxU)
[dreaming of the past on its almost dry](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cuzQqfRGUi0)
[aquamarine on cheat codes](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MHvNapx5PFo)
Get Dealt With is a great pick
I like You’re Da Man but the drums have always felt awkward and out of place to me, they kinda take away from the great sample
[Jay-Z - Bring It On](https://youtu.be/AGIsPZFJ4PU)
[Dipset - DJ Enuff Freestyle](https://youtu.be/b_xx9Bk1M1s)
[Nas - U Gotta Love It](https://youtu.be/GocVrkqf0zo)
Is Shitsville really underrated? It’s easily in my top 3 on the album and I’ve always been under the impression that it’s one of the consensus favorites but maybe that’s just me projecting my own taste
I just checked the streaming numbers on Spotify out of curiosity and it’s the 7th most streamed so I suppose you could make an argument it’s underrated
I never hear brought up and I remember saying it was one my favorites and got downvoted lol so I thought it was a underrated track on there I can be wrong tho.
Love a lot of the Chronic leftovers/early versions, I wish they have kept the original Mr.Officer hook in the final version as it works so well to the gritty Efil4zaggin style beat, I think that's what distinguishes The Day from other Chronic beats
as much as I love Rat-tat-tat-tat and it's one of my fav tracks on the album the original version is also sick as fuck, especially the sample (though it was later re-worked for Warren G's And Ya Don't Stop, it doesn't have the same scratch cuts on the hook)
Interesting that the story is that Suge didn't want that original version to come out because he prefered a more darker sound
I think you could combine both versions together, I really love the frantic atmosphere of the album version (along with the classic BDP sample 'Got myself an uzi and my brother a 9!')
I wonder if Dre still has the files (well, tracks) for all that old Chronic shit, i'd love a re-release with some cut songs that sounded roughly finished like Hoe Hopper to get in there
maaaan i'm feeling good again. Larry dropping on the 31st then the first volume of Spitta x JD is dropping on 4/4
[source](https://twitter.com/currensy_spitta/status/1637965749787435008?s=46&t=igIvGTPQBXk1vFyCH-LaXg)
lmao bro you've been saying this for awhile. i haven't let down on it since it came out
should check out the first one though, that's how i got more into the second
db.Boutabag says:
> You see these deadstock kicks? I ain't get 'em from the mall
And I’m like:
> 😎 relatable
Then I’m like:
> 😤 that’s not what deadstock means
I have a Reddit brain now, it’s basically over for me
Confirmed features for Larry June x Alc album so far are Ty Dolla $ign, Evidence, Action Bronson, Big Sean, and Wiz Khalifa x2
This shit’s gonna be monumental
damn two Wiz features over Alchemist production, im kinda excited now. i hope Jay Worthy is on there too, i seen him in the studio with Larry and Al on the documentary
I’ve tried to get into Larry a couple times and it never really hits (I assume it hits different in California lol). Will definitely check it out and hopefully be pleasantly surprised
Yep, with Earl too though
That was pretty recent to the album being finished though so I dunno if they’ll actually be on it
Similar thing happened with TT4 last year, a few weeks before it dropped there was a pic of the BSF crew with Earl and Alc in the stu and people thought Earl was gonna be on it
I’ve been listening and relistening to De La Soul’s catalog, and I have a controversial opinion:
3 Feet High and Rising isn’t one of their best albums
Honesty it’s not bad but super dated, and has way too many tracks. I get that it was revolutionary when it came out but the only track that I really love from it is Eye Know. Other than a handful of other decent tracks like Potholes and Me Myself and I, I’m not really into revisiting it.
I haven’t listened to every De La record. But my favorite is most likely Buhloone Mindstate and I think it’s far superior to 3FH. I think De La Soul is Dead and Stakes is High are better too.
Even for the era it came out in I think it’s overrated among other classics. The production on Paul’s Boutique is way more fun for me. Strictly Business and Paid in Full are better too. Stuff like Nation of Millions and Straight Outta Compton, which I guess this album was fighting against, feel like much more interesting records.
Again, it isn’t bad and I get why it’s seen as a classic, but also it feels massively overrated and most of the praise I see for it is that it’s “fun” in an era where a lot of rap wasn’t (which doesn’t feel true but whatever)
Agreed on it being super dated w/ too many tracks and not comparing particularly favorably to other classics from the era
I think I like them much better in a greatest hits kinda way
Would much rather listen to Digable Planets, Tribe, Pharcyde, or Souls of Mischief to scratch that itch
Also remember digging the first Jungle Brothers record a lot more than any of theirs, but it's been years. Gotta revisit and finally check out their 2nd one
Fav. Prince Paul album's still *A Prince Among Thieves*
I think of all those flower age projects 3 Feet High & Rising is one of the worse ones, even Brand Nubian's One For All is better
In terms of their other albums, Stakes is High is a good sounding but really bitter album that disses a lot of rappers that were just objectively better than them and the lyrical ability on there isn't that good, I feel like people overrate them just off the the fact they're 'supposed to be' classics
I actually almost said One for All was better than 3 Feet High but I didn’t want to come across as piling on what I think is still a pretty good album lol
I think it holds up really well. It's not a perfect album, there's a few kinda meh songs and I'm not a fan of the skits for the most part, but when it's good it's really damn good. I do like seeing how many people are saying Buhloone Mindstate is their best, which I've always thought.
I was listening to Paul's Boutique this morning and I think it takes the cake for best rap album of the 80's.
yeah i agree, when i'm in the right mood for it i love it tho, album is hilarious
i think a lot of the higher rating comes from it's introduction of skits, as well as (what i've seen many say lately, i don't have much place to speak on this) it bringing "alternative blackness" to the hip-hop forefront.
You can have one collab album. Any artists but must be alive. Personally I’m taking either Travis X The Weeknd or Kendrick x Black Thought. Maybe Meechy Darko X Black Thought
The early 2010s generation had a lot of teased/announced/potential collab albums. I want all of 'em
* Country Cousins (Big KRIT x Yelawolf)
* Kendrick Lamar x J. Cole
* Black Hippy
* A$AP Rocky x ScHoolboy Q
* A$AP Rocky x Tyler, the Creator
Bonus: Bad Meets Evil x Run the Jewels
Can't really choose one
I don’t get how someone could confuse Action for WSG or vice versa.
Action and GFK or Mooch and WSG sure, but if you can’t tell the difference between Action and WSG I’m curious how much of each you’ve listened to
What are some beats Pusha T would sound good over? Always thought he'd sound good over something like Stove God "Burt & State"
[удалено]
Yeah I hear it for sure
lyrical underground rappers 🤝🏿 soundcloud underground rappers beats with no kicks
Tekashi got beats and kicks now
[удалено]
most underrated album ever tbh, no skips. no, how to hate is not a skip
How to Hate is so good. underrated Wayne x T Pain cut
I’m tired of people not really into hiphop flooding this sub’s threads with bullshit
Yea, it's usually thin skinned nerds who are probably only fans of like 3 rappers. The "how do people still support him" people piss me off the most though , like there's no way your a rap fan and complaining about rappers and their fans moralities.
Anyone watch Camron’s sports debate show? I just saw clips on Twitter
[It’s on YouTube](https://youtube.com/@comeandtalk2me) Right now it’s pretty good; once they get the production tightened up it’s gonna be incredible
That video of Bill Nye dancing to Key Glock has me dead.
Are the “Drake the type of n*gga to” jokes still funny or nah?
They come and go in waves
Always
Better than Drake Milly Bobby jokes.
Thats one of those memes that keep on dying then coming back over and over
I don't think so but it's mainly because the jokes aren't creative anymore.
Always. I saw some tiktok ones that have cartoon Drakes with the “Drake the type of guy” captions, freaking hilarious
They gotta be a bit more creative at this point but I’d say so
This new Yung Mal album hard as hell but I’m weak at him giving a lil girl (it’s not said 100% explicitly but I think it’s his daughter) a verse. Shit caught me off guard lmao. Pretty dope beat selection tho, [Invest](https://youtu.be/dC-_0u0je-0) is great
I’m glad he was able to bounce back after leaving the Joe Budden Podcast.
The funny thing about rewatching Degrassi is seeing Drake’s character just become Drake in his final season. Wants to be a rapper, treating women like crap even though he broke up with them. It’s all there.
My Roku has all episodes free, I watched a random episode and Drake’s plot was that he couldn’t get it up
you can hate on J Cole but those Truly Yours tapes are where it's at. Stay, Tears for ODB, Kenny Lofton..
He needs to drop some mixtapes or loosies. Cole Summer is so smooth. Production on both those tapes was dope.
it's always funny to me how Dre is constantly in the studio judging by all the pictures rappers/celebrities take with him but releases music he co-produced like once every 3 years
i feel like hes always just working on mixes, probably gonna get a super deluxe of the chronic one day and itll be 300 different mixes
has anybody ever listened to Like Father, Like Son? i feel like i always pushed it to the side because of Birdman
Yeah, Weezy goes off on that. One of the first projects I listened to by Wayne, but yeah Birdman does add anything.
The song with T-Pain is a certified banger, can't believe it wasn't bigger
a good album. birdman isn't that insufferable on it. check out Don't Die off it at least

Literally this post is a double citation
i need to make my way to your book, i always enjoy reading about Pac. what are your favorites from the album?

Most underrated song on a not at all underrated album? Gotta go with Wailin’ from ATLiens, the sample is great and Big Boi and 3 Stacks flows are smooth as butter
Guilt Trip on Yeezus
Best song on it
Verses From The Abstract on Low End Theory Growing Pains on Word Of Mouf
Wailin’ is elite, only problem with it is that it’s not longer
I’ve had this exact thought many times I don’t necessarily like how the sample is flipped as much but Prodigy’s [Trials Of Love](https://youtu.be/Ji6M20tQlb0) uses the same sample and is a lot longer
Impossible on Rodeo
yup
Schoolboy Q - Str8 Ballin Edit: Drake - U With Me
Good one love that song
[удалено]
I hate when Reddit do that shit
Great call on this one…one of my fav Outlast songs for certain.
[удалено]
On that same note, Piano Love (Conway - GDMM)
My favorite song off that album
Such a great fucking track

They deserve to step on legos
Fr lol
[yah on DAMN.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QlmxRtdAOLU) [citronella on none shall pass](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fvWx_TDz6c0) [sea legs on run the jewels 1](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YbnhUVTTdHE) [no sl33p on whole lotta red](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QicMBfKdPxU) [dreaming of the past on its almost dry](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cuzQqfRGUi0) [aquamarine on cheat codes](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MHvNapx5PFo)
I love Yah so much
Aquamarine best song on the album imo
Aquamarine is so good
I feel like most people list Dreamin Of The Past as one of the best tracks off the album but I agree with the rest for the most part
has under a million views on youtube which is how i got my underrated
Fair enough, but it’s still one of the most viewed off the album and one of the most streamed as well
Nas - You’re Da Man Mobb Deep - Get Dealt With
Get Dealt With is a great pick I like You’re Da Man but the drums have always felt awkward and out of place to me, they kinda take away from the great sample
Synthesizer or Slump from Aquemini Ice Water from Cuban Linx Chinese New Year from Hell Hath No Fury
Slump and Ice Water are great picks, would probably put both in the top 5 of their respective albums
I feel like Slump would be more popular if it didn’t have nine minutes of baby noises at the end
Hahaha maybe
Lil Wayne - Abortion - Tha Carter IV Dope New Gospel - Tha Carter V
[Jay-Z - Bring It On](https://youtu.be/AGIsPZFJ4PU) [Dipset - DJ Enuff Freestyle](https://youtu.be/b_xx9Bk1M1s) [Nas - U Gotta Love It](https://youtu.be/GocVrkqf0zo)
Shitsville from Pinata 20 Something Ctrl You Ain’t Gotta Lie To Pimp a Butterfly
Is Shitsville really underrated? It’s easily in my top 3 on the album and I’ve always been under the impression that it’s one of the consensus favorites but maybe that’s just me projecting my own taste
I feel like some people will dislike a song just because the word shit is in the title or hook
I thought it was pretty popular too
I just checked the streaming numbers on Spotify out of curiosity and it’s the 7th most streamed so I suppose you could make an argument it’s underrated
I never hear brought up and I remember saying it was one my favorites and got downvoted lol so I thought it was a underrated track on there I can be wrong tho.
It very well could be, but it shouldn’t be because it’s hard as hell
The Day The Niggaz Took Over on the Chronic

The guy who came mouth two years ago is best from a place with a long history alright bud
He’s good but Brotha Lynch would literally eat him
> ~~Brotha Lynch~~ Big Lurch would literally eat him
I think i'll still have to give Mozzy the title but Boutabag is up there if he keeps up the quality he might well become it
can anyone pinpoint the sample in Doe Boy by Curren$y?
[here let me Google that for you](https://www.whosampled.com/Doe-Boy/)
this literally pulled up the artist Doe Boy but okay
Lmao
ADHD is sitting at an intersection and suddenly getting an uncontrollable urge to listen to Green Light by John Legend and Andre 3000
God I love that song so much
Green Light and Save Room are easily John Legends best songs in my opinion.

Spotify keeps shoving him down my throat despite me removing his songs from my daily mixes every time. he's just not my thing
Yeah he really does nothing for me, but I'll keep an open mind
damn two Wiz features over Alchemist production, im kinda excited now. i hope Jay Worthy is on there too, i seen him in the studio with Larry and Al on the documentary

Ty Dolla holy shit
That new Danny and Peggy is ass IMO
There’s way too much going on with the beat and Danny’s vocal mix is weird. Lean Beef Patty was much better
I mess with it Lean Beef Patty is way better tho

lol 100% agreed but you can’t act like it isn’t something very exclusive and special to hip hop albums started by this one
I agree
Bro did they take Gunna’s Top Off Colors show version off of Spotify? Thats so ass
I can’t recall it being on there, it was the better version too
Nah it was 100% on there
Ah peak, I would of added that one in rotation.
You can have one collab album. Any artists but must be alive. Personally I’m taking either Travis X The Weeknd or Kendrick x Black Thought. Maybe Meechy Darko X Black Thought
Future x the weeknd
Young Thug x J Hus (prod by Jae5)
Danny Brown and Young Thug
Metal Clergy: Roc Marciano & Ka
The early 2010s generation had a lot of teased/announced/potential collab albums. I want all of 'em * Country Cousins (Big KRIT x Yelawolf) * Kendrick Lamar x J. Cole * Black Hippy * A$AP Rocky x ScHoolboy Q * A$AP Rocky x Tyler, the Creator Bonus: Bad Meets Evil x Run the Jewels Can't really choose one
Action Bronson x Westside Gunn titled "you are never going to be able to tell who is rapping"
I don’t get how someone could confuse Action for WSG or vice versa. Action and GFK or Mooch and WSG sure, but if you can’t tell the difference between Action and WSG I’m curious how much of each you’ve listened to
not a lot
Yeah that’s what I figured, I can understand the confusion to someone that isn’t super familiar with eithers music
Kendrick and Drake would have to be good. Drakes raps would probably lack a bit but you know the production would be crazy
Chamillionaire x Ludacris prod by Black Milk
Freddie x Benny prod by Hit-Boy
I want that so bad
[удалено]
Ik 😞
Pusha T x Freddie Gibbs
Q x asap rocky I shit you not I might have said Peggy Danny before they announced the album
Isaiah Rashad x SZA
good call, stuck in the mud top 3 song on sun's tirade
