What is it with Yeat where he drops music, I think it blows, and then hear it a month later and love it. Bad bend / Demon is awesome off the new album. What are some other songs that you enjoy
Is TM88 still part of 808 Mafia? I remember when XO Tour Life came out people were saying TM was using the cut-off 808 Mafia tag to signify him not being part of the group, and at the time there was mixed info on if he left and was on bad terms with them or bad.
I'm pretty sure TM used the cut-off producer tag for quite a while at that point so I don't think it meant anything more than using his tag a bit differently.
I find it really funny that the first time I heard both Nipsey Hussle and a member of Bone Thugs (I can't remember which member it was, and I didn't know he was part of a group at the time at all) was on the official remix of Replay by Iyaz which also had Flow Rida and Sean Kingston on it.
I'm hankering to find some new music,
Anyone got some good "bar fest" recommendations?
I'm thinking something with a couple artists just going off along the lines of catchin' bodies by Joel Ortiz and kxng crooked or all I think about by bad meets evil
not exactly that same vibe but this is [my take](https://open.spotify.com/track/5HHBtOQQ0L2Pn6wFLiWRFV?si=b0d5cd9389764a69) on a track that's really bars and flow focused!
When rappers mispronounce a word, fumble on purpose, or incorporate errors in the verse.
What are your fav instances of this?

Reddit being down all day sucked. I thought it was a me thing and I thought I missed today's DDT. I was listening to a lot of The Lox today, I love how well they complement each other like vocally.
In every "what 2 artists would you want to collab together" thread people only put artists they like, but realistically make no sense together. I saw comments in r/playboicarti saying they want him to collab with kendrick, and in another one danny brown? like them both but with carti? no way.
A lot of the best collabs are between artists with different styles
For example Playboi Carti has great collabs with Solange, Tyler the Creator, A$AP Rocky, Big Sean, Kid Cudi, Skepta, Bryson Tiller, DRAM, Lana Del Rey etc.
Albums I’ve been listening to lately
Fousheé- softCORE (please listen its awesome)
WILLOW- (emo Willow is her best era yet imo)
Lucki- Freewave (old Lucki gotta be my favorite discovery of 2022/23)
Lil Nas X- Montero (actually a super relistenable album front to back for the most part)
JPEGMAFIA- LP! (as usual for everyone with ears)
On principle it's still just not something I'm gonna be interested in or listening to no matter how the tech progresses. Rather hear the actual ppl. Don't care about holograms either
Link the stuff that's almost indistinguishable? All I've seen is the one eminem line on the David guetta song and it sounded pretty good but it was also just one line or two acapella
Someone pointed out that nearly all Q x Alc collabs are like 60% rapping and 40% rambling and talking which is actually true lol. Even specifically the Alc half of Kno Ya Wrong is like that.
Clip In A Tray their best collab so far
Black N Yellow is still an anthem for one of the most iconic sports cities in the US. The other is just a meh song overall. Black N Yellow, especially the remix, is 🔥.
I don't care much for Wiz Khalifa but ima go with Black and Yellow
See You Again is the better hit song, has nearly 6 billion views on YouTube, and really exemplifies the Wiz's crossover appeal. There's also the emotional connection since the song is a tribute to Paul Walker.
But Black and Yellow bangs any day
It's a great show, now season 3 has started. I love some of the scenes where its showing the rappers' like mind palaces as they're writing music (Idk if there's any scenes like that in S1 but there are in S2).
Watching more real footage of RZA I kinda understood that Ashton Sanders was trying to imitate his vocal inflections, and I think he's a good actor, but he overdid it was too much in season 2.
The funny thing for me is he sounds more robotic than anything. & he misses a key trait about RZA: all his r’s are pronounced as w’s like how Elmer Fudd talks lol
If you need shit to listen to here are some of my favorite recent songs:
[Lobsters In Shoreditch](https://youtu.be/NZ72zoYZ0y0)
[Bad Apples](https://youtu.be/GFyNy9ma14s)
[48](https://youtu.be/Ji3zug7xJSI)
[Quit Right Now](https://youtu.be/fXY5nAXpsKo)
[3 Eyed Raven](https://youtu.be/DsGArw8fw_M)
[Okra](https://youtu.be/v4YxcS_SNRA)
[100 or Nun](https://youtu.be/yqsrFDWjl3s)
[Wellness Cheques](https://youtu.be/bF-P6phuX8w)
[SRT](https://youtu.be/W7eKFserhUY)
I’ve got mixed feelings on Kenny Mason, the other two tracks on the EP did nothing for me and were kinda bad tbh and in general I think he’s overrated but he does have some great tracks and 100 or Nun is easily one of his best
I’m with you I like his more trap influenced stuff when he’s rapping it’s pretty much always good for me but he barely does it lol. Im just not a fan of the rock shit and his vocals on his projects. Avatar was another song I like on the ep
Feel exactly the same, Firestarter, Chevron, Hit, Exxon, Much Money, SHELL, and his feature on Grip 3:16 are all great as well but aside from that and maybe a few other songs I don’t really fw the rest of his catalogue
I actually could never get into him but did really enjoy that album, listened to it a few times already. I thought the production was smooth as hell. Does he make beats?
Jay electronica went on a twitter rant yesterday and starting @-ing rappers asking them if they believe in God and i was laughing pretty hard at Diddy's response
im an atheist so i dont believe in hell but the idea that somebody as self serving and snake like as Diddy proclaiming he walks with God is so absurd to me its funny
I just don't understand how a grown ass man isn't embarrassed by conducting himself on Twitter like that, or why any of those rappers even bothered to respond. It's not his place to call their faith into question
Found out today that Reddit is discontinuing their Reddit Talk feature. Not sure if anyone was familiar with it but it seemed like a cool feature that had major bugs and other problems that went unresolved. This sub only ever used Reddit Talk 3 times. Once for when the Ye doc team gave us the exclusive first look at the trailer, and the other two times was when we hosted live amas with Redman and Merlyn Wood. I thought it would have been cool to host more of those amas because they were fun and usually yielded pretty good questions from users.
I mentioned this before but I got to ask Redman if he had any funny stories about Erick Sermon and he said when he completed Muddy Waters, he drove around and spotted Erick at a gas station pumping gas, and yells out "The album is done!" and drove off, and Erick got excited and got in his car to drive after him but he forgot he was still pumping gas and the nozzle tore off from the pump as he sped off
Kinda surprised that they’re getting rid of it so quickly because I actually saw a nice amount of other subs use it a lot. Feels weird to do that instead of just improving on the bugs and making it better
Yeah I saw those too. I'm on the Reddit Talk discord so they would use that to announce every live talk that was happening, and I dropped in on a few to prep myself for when we hosted ours, and they seemed like they had good turnouts, there were some that were pretty cool like one that talked about job hunting in an open space, and another one on relaxation/meditation.
I like November Rain, I only got into the song because of the manga/anime Jojo's Bizzare Adventures. Part Nine was released and the main JoJo (the protagonist) stand/ability is named November Rain. As for the song itself, I like it. The signing is nice and I love how rightous but melancholy the production sounds.
As for Conway and Jae's album is pretty good! I am indifferent towards Jae Skeese, from his features with Conway but I liked him here. I know Jae is dropping an album this month, which makes me more interested in listening to it.
How about you? What have you listened to?
No full projects lately just digging the “new” underground hip-hop scene Faves if I had to name a few are gonna be The God Fahim & Mach-Hommy, Griselda, Freddie Gibbs, Your Old Droog
I like James Blake as an artist but he honestly could coast off just vocalizing in songs he’s featured in and I’d love it every time. Really is transcending
Imperius Rex is pretty good. It was apparently mostly finished beforehand but there is some seemingly copy and pasting and filling in the blanks on it (Bernadette Price performs a couple hooks, the two verses on Definition of Price have different flows and deliveries and seem like from different songs). Its not as good as any of his solos made while alive, but there's still enough on there to make it worthwhile.
Price of Fame is a little light on actual P verses, but feels like a cohesive album. Center Stage and Enemy at the Gates are both good tracks. Album is worth checking out.
86 Witness and Metal Detectors are less essential, but still are fun for big Sean P fans. But check these out at the end.

we're getting Doechii x Kodak this friday. interesting collab i can't wait to hear
Me too , I almost didn't understand the collab at first until I realized she's from Florida and in her early 20's, so she most likely grew up on him.
Plus Top Dawg is probably real close with Kodak
that's dope. i've never realized she was from Florida, im even more hyped now. Doechii can rap her ass off and Kodak is one of my favorite rappers.
I'm hankering to find some new music, Anyone got some good "bar fest" recommendations? I'm thinking something with a couple artists just going off along the lines of catchin' bodies by Joel Ortiz and kxng crooked or all I think about by bad meets evil
Yelawolf Blacksheep by Yelawolf & Caskey is an entire album of that
[jid and jcole - off deez](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZiADuDjueJc)
not exactly that same vibe but this is [my take](https://open.spotify.com/track/5HHBtOQQ0L2Pn6wFLiWRFV?si=b0d5cd9389764a69) on a track that's really bars and flow focused!
Prhyme - Dat Sound Good ft. Ab-Soul and Mac Miller
fuck that was legit my first thought too. in my top 5 most played songs of the year so far
Ohhhh yeah, that whole album was solid as hell
It’s a beautiful day when one of your holy grail leaks finally gets a CDQ, hope y’all had a good one.
Should talk about that on the Rapcast.

DLSID has been on repeat since they got on streaming. Super late to De La I'm looking forward to hearing this next album
Very jazzy! A bit shorter of an album too when you think about the akita
Always down for some jazz
Reddit being down all day sucked. I thought it was a me thing and I thought I missed today's DDT. I was listening to a lot of The Lox today, I love how well they complement each other like vocally.

Kendrick deserved to have a verse, that's my only problem with it.
In every "what 2 artists would you want to collab together" thread people only put artists they like, but realistically make no sense together. I saw comments in r/playboicarti saying they want him to collab with kendrick, and in another one danny brown? like them both but with carti? no way.
Sometimes it’s fun when the artists *really* don’t make sense together like the pitches for a madlib x gunna album
A lot of the best collabs are between artists with different styles For example Playboi Carti has great collabs with Solange, Tyler the Creator, A$AP Rocky, Big Sean, Kid Cudi, Skepta, Bryson Tiller, DRAM, Lana Del Rey etc.
I wanna see Styles P collab with NAV
If Kendrick collaborated with Travis why not with Carti He also did a song with Rich the Kid lol
The new slowthai is phenomenal but I still want him to make a harder punk album. He has a great voice for that
I love how his voice sounds on it. I think the accent just makes the album

Willow has made some of my fav and most hated songs of the last few years, didnt realise she had a full album out but hover like a Godess is great
Yeah each album has 1 or 2 total duds but it’s worth it. I don’t hate emo girl as much as the average listener either lol it’s fun
I remember a month ago people getting mad that I said ai rap was getting crazy and now it’s almost indistinguishable from the actual artists
On principle it's still just not something I'm gonna be interested in or listening to no matter how the tech progresses. Rather hear the actual ppl. Don't care about holograms either
That’s fair lol most of the people I enjoyed kind of fell off quality wise so imo I’d rather hear someone program them to be good again
Kids gonna be scammed with fake leaks hard
Link the stuff that's almost indistinguishable? All I've seen is the one eminem line on the David guetta song and it sounded pretty good but it was also just one line or two acapella

Better hit song by Wiz? Black and Yellow Or See You Again
Black N Yellow is still an anthem for one of the most iconic sports cities in the US. The other is just a meh song overall. Black N Yellow, especially the remix, is 🔥.
I don't care much for Wiz Khalifa but ima go with Black and Yellow See You Again is the better hit song, has nearly 6 billion views on YouTube, and really exemplifies the Wiz's crossover appeal. See you again is a far superior "hit song" But I think black and yellow is a better hip hop song, and just far more enjoyable to listen to
Black and Yellow by far Not at all a fan of See You Again musically
See you again That scene in Fast 5 where Paul Walker says “you thought you could leave without saying goodby” Enough to make a grown man cry
why would a grown watch F&F 5 tho
Black and Yellow by a Mile
Black and Yellow but I don’t really like either one Give me We Dem Boyz over both
Black and yellow ez
seeing midwxt, saba and JID at the moment. maybe boygenius later if not talib kweli then villano antillano for u/CaptainGordan’s sake
sxsw?
yep! boygenius didn’t show. bad info.
Been listening to Wu Tang while watching the Wu Tang show, recommended for sure - first couple episodes are super good
It's a great show, now season 3 has started. I love some of the scenes where its showing the rappers' like mind palaces as they're writing music (Idk if there's any scenes like that in S1 but there are in S2).
I feel like no one here is talking about the Season 3. I didnt know it was back until recently
True stuff I only noticed Season 3 started airing like 4 episodes in.
the criminology episode was the best one so far.
Love that show, my only complaint is that the actor who does RZA overdoes the accent in S2 and it’s super annoying
Rough, I’m at s1 ep 7. Will get there soon
It’s still good it’s just the accent can sometimes get kinda annnoying
I know I’m late to it but holy shit is the new Slowthai album amazing
I was also late. Never Again fucks me up every listen
Jesus that one hit hard. It went from bad to so much worse and I had no idea it was coming
fav song on it?
It’s hard to say but probably the opener Yum. It’s so intense and visceral, it almost reminds me of Nine Inch Nails or Death Grips
It's his on sight
That’s a fair comparison yeah
the breathing at the end made me panic while i was driving 😭😭😭😭
it def caught me off guard lmao

>Discuss what you listened to while reddit was down Guns and Roses - November Rain Conway The Machine & Jae Skeese - Pain Provided Profit
How did these two albums make it into your rotation today good sir?
I chose them via YouTube's my mix.
Ahh well very interesting selections! What were your thoughts/feelings on the two?
I like November Rain, I only got into the song because of the manga/anime Jojo's Bizzare Adventures. Part Nine was released and the main JoJo (the protagonist) stand/ability is named November Rain. As for the song itself, I like it. The signing is nice and I love how rightous but melancholy the production sounds. As for Conway and Jae's album is pretty good! tame Impala - currents
Sminos new album is pretty chill. Or limbo by Amine
Pick a De La project, there’s lots now
Death grips - government plates
he wants a happy trip not a terrifying one
At least hear the first track on masego the album it just came out
Mac Miller - Best Day Ever
The title track on there is the best song I’ve ever heard on shrooms. Good rec
I like James Blake as an artist but he honestly could coast off just vocalizing in songs he’s featured in and I’d love it every time. Really is transcending
How are the Sean P posthumous albums?
Imperius Rex is pretty good. It was apparently mostly finished beforehand but there is some seemingly copy and pasting and filling in the blanks on it (Bernadette Price performs a couple hooks, the two verses on Definition of Price have different flows and deliveries and seem like from different songs). Young Dro
babytron
Babytron, Zack Fox, and Bfb Da Packman are all great. Free Joe Exotic is genuinely hilarious
Camron
Weezy, Mac, 21

Redman
Action Bronson easily

Rio da Yung OG
rio & rmc mike get me real life cracking up
