I'm high asf and just thinking but I bet the artists doing the expensive physical copy only releases haven't cleared any samples & the price in a way potentially protects them from lawsuits - only hardcore fans are listening and they won't sample snitch.
It's ok you don't buy it, they're getting the money they need from the physical sales and people can download a copy illegally otherwise.
You're getting downvoted but you're right, this business model has been used by multiple rappers to relatively decent success because it provides you with creative leeway and you only need to sell a few copies to make a tidy profit. Music is a business at the end of the day, it's nobody's obligation to leave money on the table making art accessible.

Exactly, not every artist is on a major or are going to sell 30k first week so they have to use a different business model to make money and pay the bills
honestly I wish the datpiff days would come back with indie artists that are high quality but ik that ain't gonna happen because this genre of hip hop is becoming more and more profitable
Meyhem has done great things with Alc/Daringer/Harry Fraud, but his countless songs with Muggs are usually his best. Adding Madlib into the mix will make this a top 5 Lauren project almost guaranteed, but trying to manage expectations as it could end up being a short EP or something
> hope Bronson has a feature on it
I'd love a BronLib album.
And we really need more than one-off's with Westside Gunn. We need that GunnLib album, fellas.
Frozen Angels with Muggs is probably a lot of people’s favorite. Frozen Angels and Northern Blvd are some of my favorite songs of his. Silk Pyramids with Buckwild is also pretty good. Feels a lot like an old dusty mixtape with how stripped back the instrumentals are
Jukebox been dead for a while, and the same trolls keep resurfacing, but yeah, Boxden is still going strong.
Crazy to think about how my account there is approaching 20 years old.
He just posted an update with him and madlib mixing it on Pro Tools. Ik for a fact it will be good because every meyhem lauren project has aged very well.
I haven't really been hooked by a project of his since Glass but I know he has great presence on a track and punchlines that make me feel like I'm listening to a freestyle from one of my friends who actually nice with it lol
Hope they have more lush beats for him to sink into. The Daringer beats on BV just weren't it for me.
This pleases me but makes my wallet very scared
I thought it was fake at first until he kept posting it. Hopefully they don't pull a Mach Hommy on the fans.
$600 for black vinyl. Fuck outta here hahahahaha
Mmhhmmm but he started releasing a lot of his discog on streaming which is good because 3000$ for an experimental boom bap LP is bullshit
I wouldn’t pay $3000 for an album if Michael jackson rose from his grave and released a quadruple lp
Just wait until you find out what al.divino does with his artwork and albums
good don't support him

Dj Muggs also released an EP with al.divino exclusively on vinyl for hundreds of dollars

Just wait until you hear the snippet he posted on his IG of the 3 skeletons in cowboy hats shit sounds ridiculous

Shout-out to Meyhem, hope Bronson has a feature on it

Bronson and Madlib makes so much sense I’m surprised they only have a song or two together
Not really, none of the Madlib x Gunn collabs have been that good
Ya just about every madlib produced track on peace flygod was mids
Danhausen?
BAMLIB WHEN
I love Mayhem. Dude’s personality is infectious.
I met him outside a 7-Eleven in Manhattan last year and he was so nice. We shot the shit for a bit in front of his Beemer.
Meyhem cruising in the Gold Lexus LS between restaurants should be in the YouTube Hall of Fame. Top tier comedy + vibes https://youtu.be/pSdrwcHqZK4
This is his natural habitat.
2 of some of the most iconic sample based producers collaborating like this has never been seen since Gangreene
Black Vladimir was flames.
I couldn't believe how much it was banging really.
I had high hopes when I heard Red Pesto, and I didn't even really know who Mayhem was except for the Czarface feature.
One of my favorite projects from last year
I’ve tried getting into meyhem several times but always find his flow and lyrics fairly mediocre- what would you guys say is his best project?
Glass is his best to me. Produced by Harry Fraud
Frozen Angels with Muggs is probably a lot of people’s favorite. Frozen Angels and Northern Blvd are some of my favorite songs of his. Silk Pyramids with Buckwild is also pretty good. Feels a lot like an old dusty mixtape with how stripped back the instrumentals are
Glass 2.0
I swear this is going to be a good year for music.
I just went to a card shop yesterday and happen to find a dj muggs card in a baseball pack
He also sells custom tarots on his website
i can only get so erect
Wait wait wait…. **BOXDEN** is still alive ?
Jukebox been dead for a while, and the same trolls keep resurfacing, but yeah, Boxden is still going strong. Crazy to think about how my account there is approaching 20 years old.

You can see thr post without a register
Honestly Mayhem is cool on Action’s Shows but his raps are horrid
They’ve been teasing this as soon as it reached the new year, glad it’s in its final stages now.
He just posted an update with him and madlib mixing it on Pro Tools. Ik for a fact it will be good because every meyhem lauren project has aged very well.
Dream Team!
Was just saying today Meyhem always gets the nicest beats around. This gonna be 🔥

Honestly can't wait. Love anything Madlib touches
