This is so stupid who made this decision

How many languages does your phone understand?

CorrectScale

Hey there! Sorry for the trouble. You can update language settings on a desktop/browser in the [Account settings tab](https://new.reddit.com/settings). Just change the display language to one of the options in the drop down menu. Changes made there should carry over to the app. Cheers!

Here's the help center article (since it varies a little bit by platform): https://reddithelp.com/hc/en-us/articles/204528049

jajagger

Thank you!

Knoplund

Outdated. There are no "View Options" in the Settings of the ios app.

jajagger

Thanks a lot!

Knoplund

Changes do not carry over.

I'm on an Iphone. Display Language in Browser Settings was, is and will ever be set to english. I still got the translation in the app. "Language Settings" in the app send you to your iphone Settings, where there are no options to change the language. The Help Page that gets constantly posted to people with the problem is outdated. The spoken about "View Options" are not available in the iOS app. So I have to change the whole Smartphone Language to english. Genius. I don't want this. I never asked for this. There is nothing but despise I have for Apps that Force such grave changes on me. No matter how "good" the translation may be, there is no reason for it, and my native language is simply not suited for small button lettering. I understood everything before, when it was in english. Deinstalling the App and trying Apollo for Reddit until there is an option to change the language back to english.

It's literally right in the fucking settings. Why is everyone blind

Casually-Average

Actually some people were included in testing that matches your Reddit language with your phone language and you **CAN’T** change that. So how about you don’t be so rude about something you clearly didn’t know about. OP asked a question, that’s it.

jleeky

Everyone can change their language preference and it is in settings, here's how you do it (since it varies a little bit by platform): https://reddithelp.com/hc/en-us/articles/204528049

Casually-Average

Not if you’re in the A/B testing. **Admins have already confirmed this.**

KennyXdxd

I don't understand why would Reddit change people's app language without letting them change it back, and these post keep going viral for some reason and it gives me a notification all the time

Casually-Average

Reddit implements a lot of strange testing on random users, it is what it is.

jajagger

Thanks for your reply. I’ve been informed that it’s classic A/B testing. Nonsense regardless

jajagger

Well I don’t understand either but it is what it is
