And such a nice train station
Would be a shame if drugs would ruin it. Surely that won't happen though.
It’s just a large Vaccination station right? RIGHT?
there's no hdr filter irl so you gotta get the colors elsewhere
Came here to see this comment
I was there on Saturday. Yes, agree it's a vibrant city, but it does not come to anything close to the city of London. It lacks Milk, and Bread street, and the 12 guardian dragons. As for finance, hub, the eurocracy are pretty bad with money, simply a lost cause. Anyhow had a good meal there and beer.
Well...population of London 9 Mio...population of Frankfurt 750,000
This is a good representation of Frankfurt; The further you are away, the better it looks.
Whats the problem with Frankfurt? Am not from there so just asking
Very short and overgeneralizing:
* it's ugly and dirty
* notorious problems with drugs in the main station area
* people who hate bankers, stock market and yuppies hate it for that; banking center and playground for the rich
* despite it's sprawl and relative size it hasn't that much to offer regarding culture and night life. People say it's a very large village
* traffic is a nightmare for everyone
* for a German city it doesn't have much green/trees
So thats why a lot of people prefer to live outside of the city but near it?
Sure. But true for most cities I suppose.
Nice use of saturation to make Frankfurt appear more colourful
Just like every single German movie, they wack up the contrast to hide how grey Germany is
Yeah, it's like an opposite Mexico
Loriot: "I can offer you a nice, warm gray for the living room."
Germany really isn't grey at all I don't know where people got that from
Depends on the year. February's can be very grey.
Germany is of course very colourful but that depends on the wear/lightning, season (winter or not?) and the architecture that is being photographed.
Thanks a lot 😄
Nice Try Mister Feldmann
Hahaha I'm not the mayor 😂😂
This is the good site wait before you see the bad site but its anyway a nice city
Am not from Frankfurt but can you explain why is it bad?
It's crazy how hated Frankfurt is on this Sub. Granted, I didn't have a good opinion of frankfurt either before I started working here but I've been pleasantly surprised a few times now. It's much better than It's Reputation
So this really can be a nice city! I spent 6 hours there around the Trainstation on my way back from Spain, really can't recommend it lol, beautiful pictures tho c:
Quite a few cities are pretty shit around the train station, but Frankfurt is definitely quite a bit nicer once you get outside of the Bahnhofsviertel for sure. It’s not really a great tourist city, but it’s honestly a really nice place to live :)
Yes ! You are absolutely right ! Take a walk in the Altstadt.. it's definitely worth the visit
It’s always so funny to see how many people say they hate Frankfurt, but have only ever been in, or around the Hauptbahnhof for a transfer while traveling and having seen almost none of the city.
Well, I guess I'll have to check out the city at some point c: At that time I've been awake for like 24 hours already, dealing with all those people on top of it just made me hate it a little lol. But from what I've seen the city looks rlly nice c: I'll go there again when I got some time and money to spare c:
Really, you found Frankfurt that beautiful? Care to mention which places? I lived there for 5 months moved to city in Bavaria now that I think about it I was right to think that Frankfurt is not a beautiful city.Sure tall buildings are there but beautiful? Pass.
Haha, i had to wait around the train station and was approached like i was a prostitute 😂
Booked a hotel about 500 meters from there train station. I wouldn't recommend it...
Did you pay per night or by the hour?
By the minute
If you overlook the masses of white collar criminals in those steel&glass dildos in the distance that keep screwing the world it's actually a nice city.
The dildos are mostly vacant, they are just there to inflate the egos of their owners
To be fair, finding a XX century's spot in the middle of Germany also provide a very nice vibe for the inhabitants and visitors. Give them some credit.
Really nice pics!
Glad you visited and liked our area.
What a beautiful day! Last time I went to the same spot it was so foggy and could hardly get a glimpse of the skyscrapers after 328 freaking spiralling steps!
You are absolutely right ! It was a freaking hot day
I live here and I love Frankfurt
Why do some people hate the city?
Am not from there but would like to visit that city
Wow so beautiful
No homeless people
No drug addicts
Fast in jeder Großstadt in Deutschland des gleiche. Man muss halt wirklich aufs Land um die schönen Seiten der Bundesländer zu sehen
Oder einfach nicht auf Frankfurt
And in which city isn‘t this a problem?
Erst letzte Woche mal wieder seit langem in Frankfurt gewesen. Nach der ersten Begegnung mit einer hochschwangeren Betrunkenen, die ihren Rausch auf einer Parkbank ausschlief, hatte ich auch schon wieder genug von Frankfurt gesehen.
Saw every color of piss and shit around the train station, wouldn't recommend it.
The Restauration of the old City Center was actually realy expensive and is an interesting read.
(Cause as you know it was bombed to rubbles in ww2)
Arguably the most beautiful city in Germany.
Yes, you are right one can really argue about that!
Ist ne schöne Stadt, leider hat es auch abgefuckte Gegenden aber man kann auch kleinere Städte und Dörfer besuchen. Ich hab n Jahr lang in Mörfelden Walldorf gewohnt und es war relativ nice
The comments are so German, constant complaining about everything
What's with the saturation? I was there not that long ago and it definitely wasn't this colorful lol. Even in the bright sunlight it was pretty grey.
vallah billah wie schön ey
I'm from Singapore, arguably a city with a much better skyline and cleanliness and safety record than Frankfurt, but I have lived in FRA for 2 years already and there's no place I like more than ffm. The people, culture and the architecture just makes ffm so unique and beautiful
In the first two pictures you can see a large construction site with cranes. The project is called "Four Frankfurt" and consists of four high-rise buildings, from 100m to 230m.
Interesting: The skyscraper on the right has already reached 100m.
Great photos! Really enjoyed them.
City of crime, thugs and a German minority.
Vibrant city? I guess your standard must be some place like Chattanooga, Tennessee. As a under-30, Frankfurt is one of the most boring cities I’ve been to in Europe.
Then you very unlucky to find places maybe? Frankfurt has a pretty active techno scene for example, don't know how you missed it.
Since when is techno a standard for a lively city?
Can you recommend some good clubs? Big trance fan, but like other types of techno too. I did a litle bit of blind trial and error when I first moved to the Rhein-Main area but gave up after not coming across much. It's a long train ride/commitment to do FFM, so wasn't worth it to me to keep finding this vibrant nightlife I keep hearing it has.
for techno try Tanzhauswest (THW)
Never heard of frankfurt having a vibrant nightlife. There used to be a few really good clubs but they were shut down long ago. Ther/ Alt Sax, but that‘s not what I‘d call a vibrant Nightlife
I mean I live in Wiebaden now, so anything that's not practically Canasta night at the old folks' home, I would consider nightlife 😢
That‘s certainly better in Frankfurt 😂 but those big years are over. Frankfurt has developed a big bar scene to take wonderful pictures and post them online haha.
Haha as someone from Mainz, I get you!
I haven't been in Mainz for a year now and know about all the post-pandemic situation, but I do know that there are some very cool parties in a squat in Mainz: It's called Haus Mainusch, they post their Events on Telegram (and maybe Facebook), so maybe you'll find something cool there?
Biggest recommendation ist defintely Tanzhaus West and Atelier (the Kabinett der Kursositäten Parties are very fucking cool). There's also Freud and Silbergold. Offenbach is very close and has two techno clubs as well, MTW and Robert Johnson.
There are no trees! No Parks. For me it\`s like a City Wasteland. And i am from Berlin.
There are several major parks in the city, including one that rings downtown. And nearly all of Frankfurt Süd is forest. Even the Hauptwache is covered in trees. There are a lot of things I think Frankfurt isn't good at but lacking greenery isn't one of them.
Palmengarten: are you kidding me?
But aside that, there are plenty of green areas
Supposedly the 7th best city in the world right now, if you believe the new Mercer city ranking. Which I dont.
Hope someone post The Other Frankfurt, too, now.
Can you do that idk why do people hate that city am not from Frankfurt but am curious
so many gangsta
Dependent on Russian oil 🙄
