Now that all the pay drivers (who are not that good drivers also) are gone, who do you think will be the next driver to go off the grid based on performance?
2 questions
1. Has there ever been a season where every team that raced had a win? If not same question but for podium finishes?
2. What season had the most individual race winners?
> Has there ever been a season where every team that raced had a win?
No. And nowhere near close.
>If not same question but for podium finishes?
No and again nowhere near close.
>What season had the most individual race winners?
1982 with 11.
For anyone’s who’s been to the Australian Grand Prix what grandstand would you recommend to go for? Went this year for quali just with a General Admission and had a blast but want to go for race day next year, and from what I’ve read it’s hard to see the race in GA so what would be the recommend stand/corner?
Why is everyone hyping up Alonso in the Aston Martin?
I know they had good momentum at the end of the season but is it a bit too early to say they can fight for P4 in the Constructors' Championship
Because he's a significant improvement on Seb as far as I'm concerned (he'll tear Lance a new one like he's never experienced before you can bet your house on that) and the team got faster and faster over the course of the season and have the resources to compete for P4.
People like to call it "hopium"... Same goes in lots of sports in the NFL, when teams "win" the off-season with great draft picks and free agent signings...
For the same reason people talk about Mercedes coming back next year, or McLaren closing the gap to the top 3, or that Newcastle might have a chance to win the Premier League in 2024.
People like to hype up things they want to see happen. It's the same in all sports, and there usually isn't a good or logical reason for it other than hope and drawing big sweeping conclusions from cherry-picked data.
Next season I want to set up multi screen for each race. Anyone have any good insight into where to get more coverage in terms of the “data” side of things?
Multiviewer for F1 is pretty solid. I haven't had a chance to play with it too much (only discovered it after Abu Dhabi), but I think it has what you're looking for.
It's a flair. If you're on desktop, you have to select it from a menu on the sidebar to your right. If you're on mobile, you have to tap the three dots at the top of the screen and select your flair from the menu that pops up.
If you use the desktop site, the sidebar on the right (at least on old.reddit.com/r/formula1) should display the option to show and edit your flair right above the picture of the race winner/driver of the day picture, that's where you can get them.
If you're on the app, navigate to the subreddit and at the top of the bar click the three dots, then select "Change user flair" and you'll get it.
Hello everyone. This video got me into F1, but I cannot remember where I got it from. Please does anyone recognize it? Also which year was this?
https://streamable.com/55eviq
Its an official video from F1 part of this.
>"The Formula One Official Director's Cut (formerly called "Formula One Official Race Edits") are professionally produced highlight reels that are published to the official Formula One website. The videos are produced by Formula One Management's in-house production team and are exclusive to the Formula One website."
>"Because of a rapid growth in online fans, the Formula One Management's in-house production team started producing Race Edits at the start of the 2008 season. This was an attempt to attract more online fans"
They used to do this for every race from 2008 to the end of 2017 when Liberty put an end to it. Most traces of them have been scrubed off oficial sites. I think the 2016 and 17 ones are the only thing on the official youtube. The rest though can still be found around on Youtube, Vimeo, Dailymotion by just searching for F1 year race edit.
Hey there, I am a new formula 1 fan and love learning more about the sport and was wondering if there is any good YouTube content out there? Maybe a weekly news channel or video essay channels? thanks!
Def recommend Chain Bear. Also F1’s official channel has some good content; I like Palmer’s analysis and Tech Talk especially. Tommo makes some good points as well and I enjoy WTF1 although they’re a bit chatty at times for my taste.
Is there any way a normal person could ever drive an f3 car or anything like that, just to sort of get a feel for what an f1 car is actually like? I know that the yas marina has something of the sort but it seems incredibly limited
You can pay £279 to drive an open wheeler around Stowe Circuit at Silverstone. They even let you drive flat out and if you crash you wont get charged extra.
Not as fast as an F3 car let alone an F1 car but as a one off to get an idea of what it's like it's probably a good shout.
There are plenty of tracks around the world that offer single seater "experiences" where you get 10 laps or so in some kind of single seater (usually somewhere around F4 level, but not always).
Define "normal". Normal how? If by "normal" we mean any average joe, then sure, but why stop at F3? Why not buy an F1 car? Nothing stops you. Oh yeah, money. Well, if an F1 car is too expensive for you, then surely an F3 car is too. As for possible renting options, we're not any better: travelling to wherever it is, renting such a car, insurance must be unfathomably high, renting the track (even on track days you probably couldn't use it among normal street cars, so you'd have to rent it for yourself). We're talking thousands, more likely tens of thousands euros, which I'd not really consider a "financially normal"-person amount of money just to do like 3 laps.
> We're talking thousands, more likely tens of thousands euros
[Not really.](https://www.trackdays.co.uk/experience/formula-renault-level-1/4317/)
(Yes, I know Formula Renault 2000 isn't F3 but it is damn close for your average joe and at that price not at all bad.)
And [if you do have the cash to spend.](https://www.trackdays.co.uk/experience/jordan-f1-driving-experience/5559/)
First of all, FR2000 is quite very far from F3. Second of all, this is just the car. Add all other things that I've listed and yup, we're well into the thousands.
You can try older formula cars in certain events, there are multiple race series for amateurs i guess. I think boss gp is/was one of them
All of them expensive i would assume
Did the V8 cars have cylinder deactivation? I’m watching 2011 Turkey and brundle said “they’ll be going down to 4 cylinders to reduce heat” while waiting on the grid. I assume this is gone with the V6s?
Some of the power units on the grid still cut cylinders off throttle. Honda was famed for the off throttle crackle back in 2018/2019 that resulted from it.
I think every PU does it now.
They probably would put the logo on if they got a discount on engines or the suppliers paid for the spot. Otherwise they’d rather have the sponsorship money.
There is no official winter break or factory shutdown - so they're still doing their regular publicity, sponsorship and media activities. While the people in factories are building and designing parts for the next seasons car.
They didn't do it this year as the world cup would be stealing viewership and attendance from the sport.
Last year we had races til early December.
Bot to mention the calendar is limited to 24 races according to the Concorde Agreement until 2025.
No need. Some of ya wouldn't have lasted when we had 16-17 races as the standard.
Everyone needs a breather. I'll have the F1 itch around mid-late February as per usual.
I just realized something crazy about Leclerc's 2022 season, except for Mexico he would have always been in the mix for the podium on pure pace. Let's have a look at the races in which he didn't finish in the top 3 :
Imola - Driver mistake while he was in P3
Barcelona - Engine exploding while he was in P1
Monaco - Strategic error while he was in P1
Baku - Engine exploding while he was in P1
Canada - Grid penalty
Silverstone - Strategic error while he was in P1
France - Driver mistake while he was in P1
Hungary - Strategic error while he was in P1
Spa - Grid penalty
Mexico - Nothing to say here, Ferrari didn't have the pace all weekend
Brazil - Strategic error in Q3 + Norris sending him to the wall at the beginning of the race
I mean Verstappen last year had a 1st or 2nd all races he finished barring damage or DNFs.
Thats leclercs+ferraris benchmark.
This shows how much he needs to improve and Ferrari most importantly.
I would say that he was lacking in pace in Canada despite his grid penalty, the safety car salvaged some more points for him. But he really was nowhere compared to Sainz that race. Spa much the same actually, compare his pace to Verstappen and it's just painful. Agree on all the others tho.
https://twitter.com/tarmactorque/status/1596482665632382976?s=21 Jensen button talking about what he went through is Alonso’s teammate is crazy but Alonso faking retirements when he couldn’t be Jensen is truly nuts
Because you've made a site on Wix and just wrote some words on it, that's not news. Show us a reliable source for your "story" or at least show us on the doll where Kimi touched you
What site do you recommend? I came to Reddit as I thought people were clever here, the texts and associated numbers are those of which the images display, why has Christian vine taken down the formula management group website and deleted his LinkedIn, 👋 🤔 😳 I'll take a guess why, he's a racist and so is Kimi Raikkonen, he could never touch me and is a coward, I'm not hiding my identity...
Regardless of what it looks like, everyone has to start somewhere, the truth is that the stories on that site are 100% real, Christian Vine has removed his website and LinkedIn pages - if you follow the link to tiktok then you'll see a real person talking about the situation and a bail form issues by the police.
The next bits to go up are recordings of Anthony Hamilton discussing the racist texts with the toktoker, Nick North who was top guy at the Mail on Sunday and John Wellington can confirm this story.
In addition to the above if its not true, then that would be libel and defamatory, maybe call Christian Vines company and let them know, thing is, he can't do anything as he has perverted the course of justice and should be charged.
We didn't redact the texts, I can assure you right now those numbers belong to the names claimed.
Thanks for your reply 👍
Either it was reported or caught by the automod as it's not a really well known F1 related source.
Edit, looking at the page only front page has some allegations towards F1 and no links or articles, their news section is just a blank example page - so i have no idea what the page is.
Hi. I wanted to buy general admission for the 23 Barcelona race, but got sold out rather quickly- will there be more tickets put on sale later, or do I need to go through 3rd party? Thanks
Sorry if this isn’t appropriate but I’m a relatively new fan and I saw a post about him earlier.
Do we know anything about Michael Schumacher’s current situation? It may sound strange and even insensitive, but I often forget that he’s technically still living.
from the subreddit rules:

What I gather is that given his condition, which is obviously terrible and leaves him barely functioning, he's doing fine. I'll leave it at that.
Ooh I like it - not trivial imho! My son is a lefty just getting into playing sports & we occasionally discuss advantages & challenges of being a lefty in athletics. . But I never considered how that might affect a driver.
It wasn't mentioned as one of his duties but if one of the RB drivers couldn't race I could see them putting de Vries in that car and maybe Ricciardo in the AT. Sometimes its better to contract a different, more experienced driver, especially at a top team.
Not unless Max or Perez have to miss a race for some reason. Additionally, depending on how De Vries is performing at AT, if Max or Perez have to miss a race, they may want to move De Vries up to see how he performs in a better car, as they'll absolutely be eyeing him up for Perez' seat in 2024.
It's unclear if he is a reserve driver or just hired for show driving, to replace Coulthard.
The team is free to use up-to 4 drivers over the season, but anytime they'll use a reserve driver it diminishes their chances for top positions in driver championship.

Teams and drivers usually get a replica for permanent ownership.
It's a trophy, as any other, not really a cup as i already mentioned.
Usually the official replica goes to the team for both. Thought it heavily depends on the drivers contract, as usual.

Came hear to ask the same! All I'm seeing is the reasons he lost his job/resigned - before it's been announced that he's gone.
Nothing official yet.
Thanks mate

No but I seen it a while back and it made me interested. Seems like a cool experience to try for a day.
Just saw a few videos of it and it feels super exciting, I hope I can try it someday
Paul Ricard circuit in France has an F1-driving experience. They teach you the ropes in an F4 car and then let you drive an older F1 car.

Trivial question, which drivers were lefties?
Ooh I like it - not trivial imho! My son is a lefty just getting into playing sports & we occasionally discuss advantages & challenges of being a lefty in athletics. . But I never considered how that might affect a driver.
Senna and Button two famous ones. Others include Johnny Herbert and Giancarlo Fisichella.
Ayrton Senna was, and I think possibly Jensen Button?
Kimi but another I don't know
is it likely that Daniel Ricciardo will race at least once next season due to him being a reserve for red bull or prob not see him on the grid?
It wasn't mentioned as one of his duties but if one of the RB drivers couldn't race I could see them putting de Vries in that car and maybe Ricciardo in the AT. Sometimes its better to contract a different, more experienced driver, especially at a top team.
It's more likely that they'll either throw Lawson in the car or put him in an AlphaTauri and give Tsunoda or De Vries a shot in the Red Bull.

Ferrari 2013 car vs Mercedes 2013 car - which one is better?
Mercedes. Alonso was the best driver out of the 4 and hard carried Ferrari.
This is probably one of my most random questions ever but can you drink from the WDC Trophy or was it made to be drank from?
[It's not really a drinking cup](https://www.formula1.com/content/dam/fom-website/sutton/2021/AbuDhabi/Sunday/1358579711.jpg.transform/6col-retina/image.jpg) - the drivers, similarly to constructors trophy, also don't get it permanently. Their name is engraved into it and it's managed & transported by FoM. Teams and drivers usually get a replica for permanent ownership.
Ohh i thought it was designed for a big chug. Who gets the constructor's replica btw? Im assuming both drivers and the principals get one.
It's a trophy, as any other, not really a cup as i already mentioned. Usually the official replica goes to the team for both. Thought it heavily depends on the drivers contract, as usual. [Example of Red Bull Racing entry at Milton Keynes](https://www.reddit.com/r/formula1/comments/brqk7r/the_trophy_cabinet_at_the_red_bull_hq_in_milton/).
But can you turn it into a bong?
The replica, without a doubt - the real thing is a bit harder.
So anything about the Binotto resignation or was it fake news?
Just rumours, nothing more.
Interesting role at F1 Management on LinkedIn https://www.linkedin.com/jobs/view/3375692493 Here is your chance to get back on the calendar
Anyone have problems buying tickets for the Singapore GP for 2023 I keep getting the purchase limit notification when I didn't even get a ticket
So what's the latest on Binotto?
Did you look at the top posts links in this post?
Are they going to bring in Vasseur from Sauber?
"I won't say anything, you will find out" - Vasseur
Haha
