Twitter translation had a slightly more interesting explanation of what they don't do...
*Sad r/FanF1ction noises*
I think Yuki is going to have to beat Nyck or he loses the seat
I think Honda is going to have to sign for 2026 or Yuki loses the seat
With iwasa coming up the ranks, wouldn't be surprised if Honda backs him if yuki doesn't perform
Iwasa hasn't impressed me as much as Yuki did in F2. If he's still inconsistent next year I can't see him making it to F1 imo.
Hadjar is more likely to come into F1.
If there's a junior ready, definitely.
Hauger, Hadjar and Iwasa will all look for his seat next year. Don't count out Crawford if he has a good F2 year
They could realistically look for both his and Nyck's.
Good time to be a RB junior as long as you perform.
If Colton Herta improved and got P1 or P2 in IndyCar, he'd also become available. He'd be a year older, but still a lot younger than de Vries.
The Colton boat has sailed. Don’t see RB interested again with their juniors coming
It’s a year away, this isn’t Cinderella where you turn into a pumpkin at midnight. Winning IndyCar would be more impressive than anything he’s done so far. It’s more likely he just doesn’t get the necessary points.
How many superlicense points is an IndyCar title (or a P2) worth?
40 for P1, 30 for P2. I believe he has 8 from 2021 and 1 from 2022 IndyCar finishes, those together with 30 points and the right kind of test/FP session would give him 40 points.
Drama aside, seeing two French drivers at a French team is pretty cool.
People really think professional drivers will create chaos for some childhood drama
Those crayons were mine and Esteban knows it!
DTS be like
I cant wait for the Sky team to bring it up every fucking session lmao.
Also from Gasly account. The drama is more we stopped hanging out then an actual fight
From what I heard, per Gasly, he'd felt Ocon had taken the piss on track too much and Ocon disagreed. That they stopped speaking/hanging out especially given how tight they were points to an actual row, if not physically, absolutely verbally. And given Ocon also behaves similarly towards teammates at times (and others too) there seems to be a kernel of truth in it.
We will never forget Alain vs. Prost.
And somehow the UK gets more land in France.
Think of all the branded baguettes they’ll sell!
F1 community is literally fan fiction
And like, they haven’t had any notable incidents in F1. They probably won’t be besties but it will be fine.
Taking each other out in the first lap of the returning French GP back in 2018 was kinda funny, but apart from that I can't think of anything.
I didn't watch 2018, but that sure as hell sounds like a notable incident
As far as I remember it was a typical lap 1 racing incident, they were not happy about it, overall it wasn't as big of an incident.
And that ''drama'' was two young people not having the maturity to leave the competing on the track. But they sure as hell have that maturity now.
Well one of them is mature when fighting teammates, the other though
i mean, Ocon has a history of being difficult to teammate drivers.
...add in spice from drivers not liking each other
...add in the likelihood that their times will be close? (i rate Gasly pretty highly)
and you have a nice mixture to see chaos and drama next year.
Ocon's been a good teammate to everyone apart from Perez. And it's not like Checo was innocent at all in 2017-18.
Could be interesting, I like seeing rivalries in sport rather than everyone being best mates.
Yeah, the drivers being best buds thing has gotten old fast. Now half the teams are putting out forced content to show their drivers are funny with each other too. Yawn.
As if we haven’t seen drama before in F1
Perez and ocon 2017 2018.
But honestly I think ocon has somewhat matured, maybe things will be different. I think in order to break the ice they shouldn’t be directly competing with each other - one has a bad race while the other secures good points. The moment a podium or other high position becomes available and they’re running front-back I don’t think either one will yield
So this leaves Haas and Williams to fill a vacant seat each.
Ric as Mercedes reserve.
I believe that Guenther will finally see reason and re-sign Mick, there's no way he gives Hulk the seat over Mick.
Williams? If Sargeant gets enough points he's got it. Otherwise, Aston may lend them Drugovich for a year or maybe Hulk.
I have heard that Williams will take Doohan on loan if Sargeant doesn't get his superlicense points.
I've not been following f2, is it likely Sargeant will get the points he needs for a SL?
Likely, yes. He’s P3 in the standings with 1 race weekend to go. He needs to finish P6 in the standings or higher. He is currently 12 points clear of Liam Lawson in P7.
Wow, just seen it's not til mid November, so a long time perhaps to confirm the line up next year. Hadn't realised.
I'll have to watch that race.
Bot, you are too quick, I had only just amended my predictive text, naughty bot..
Yeah it is, he just needs a half decent final round in AD to stay in the top 5.
He needs to finish P6 in the standings with one weekend left. He's currently P3, 9 points ahead of P4-P6 (three-way tie between Doohan, Daruvala, and Fittipaldi), and 12 points above Lawson in P7.
There's 37 points on offer in the final weekend, so he could end up well below P3.
>I believe that Guenther will finally see reason and re-sign Mick, there's no way he gives Hulk the seat over Mick.
I'm really not so sure at this point. Gunther may be stupid enough to do it.
Don't even know if its actually Gunther. Gene might not be the happiest with Mick's repair bills the last 2 seasons
it’s gonna be a pure $ decision for Haas. How much do you bring in, how much will you cost?
> I believe that Guenther will finally see reason and re-sign Mick, there's no way he gives Hulk the seat over Mick.
Hulk is a bargaining chip like everything else during contract season. At this stage in his career Hulk is ultra cheap if he wants back into F1 so anything Mick wants for a re-sign is weighed against that if Nico is the other leading candidate.
Mick to Williams is by bet
Journalist really think drivers need to kiss each other and be friends with everyone, they are there to drive fast and not make friends
that’s the translation's fault, it's just an portuguese idiom lol
I'll be honest, I wouldn't be upset if there were more drivers kissing each other. 😏
Kind of make or break for both of them really.
Don't mind me, Im just here for the chaos
This will be so much fun. De vries in midfield wreaking havoc. Tension at Alpine. More DTS fun
Don't they dislike each other?
Yeah they are not on good terms with eachother, but they are professionals so I am sure they'll be able to put aside their emotions when required too.
That’s what she said. Chaos at alpine. And we’ll like it
She's exaggerating though.
That was back in their early racing career. They are adults now and surely they can get along with each other on a professional level.
De Vries and Gasly? No.
Ocon and Gasly
Really looking forward for Alpine going from double points to double DNF every other race.
Is Yuki, Nyck the shortest ever driver pairing?
